2025 Weekly Run Down 48/52 – Team Wilpers Holiday Challenge + Turkey Trot

This is coming to you a day late, because I wanted to properly wrap up NaBloPoMo yesterday. I hope everybody had a great holiday week and lovely Thanksgiving. Ours was pretty low-key but I did run a Turkey Trot (10k) in the morning. It was cold (43F/8C) and damp here in California and I was glad to return home to a cozy house and warm fireplace!

I completed a bunch of fun Countdown to Turkey Burn classes on the Peloton platform and also started the Team Wilpers Holiday Run Challenge (I gotta keep up the run schedule!). All in all, a pretty decent week of workouts! Oh, and I hit my Streak Day #1800 this week – but who‘s counting?

Monday

The best way to start a Monday is to tire out your glutes and legs with Tunde (lots of squats and lunges) for the Grateful Gram (see below). I squeezed in a 20-minute power zone recovery ride and a focus flow for riders, and then almost forgot my plank session, but didn’t.

Tuesday

I started with this week’s Countdown to Turkey Burn Strength class and added the 20 minute EDM ride from the ‘Grateful Gram’ tracker for a little cardio. I then finished with a yoga flow for a healthy back. No plank session today – it was our rest day.)

I was so happy this morning when Rachel joined me in Kirra’s Yoga Class. What a wonderful surprise to see her on the LB (leaderboard)! I completed my plank session (core’s on fire, people!) and then finished with a bit of (more) Countdown to Turkey Burn core strength and mobility.

I had signed up for the local Turkey Trot and I ran the 10k this morning. Since I had slacked this week on getting startet with the Team Wilpers Holiday Challenge, I decided to run the 20 Minute Distance Test during the Turkey Trot. Well, not my best idea (there were so many people and a lot of swerving) and I could have probably been a little faster if I had done the test on a different day, but what’s done is done. Also, disregard the graph. My Garmin died during the race (see the dip), I was able to revive it (it had to do with the cold temps), so very little of this graph is accurate. Haha.

Friday

It was Black Friday and I had errands to run (but no Black Friday shopping for me, just a regular grocery run! The stores were eerily empty!), so I postponed my workout until the afternoon. I opted for another Countdown to Turkey Burn Ride from earlier this week, a full body stretch for the ‘Grateful Gram’ and a bit of yoga.

Saturday

This was supposed to be a progression run, which the graph clearly shows it was not, but I am blaming this on my Garmin (again!) which crapped out on me halfway through the run. I was able to “revive” it again, but the stats were definitely off.

I met up with Lindsay and Sherry this morning to close out the Countdown to Turkey Burn Collection with The Feast – a 45-minute Full Body Strength Class with six of the Peloton instructors. It was fun and entertaining but also very loud and busy with so many people in the room! Haha. Unfortunately, I told Tanja the wrong time (dang!) otherwise she would have been part of the sweat fest too. Afterwards, I went for a 45-minute easy run to complete week 1 of the Team Wilpers Holiday Run Challenge. It was cold and damp outside, so I was glad to get back inside when I was done. I joined the Streakers365 crew for Serenity Sunday in the afternoon.

I actually have to admit that I did not finish the plank challenge yesterday. My lower body was beat after the strength class and long run and then I forgot about the plank until this morning. I did complete the 3 minutes today (yay!) but because I was really sore from yesterday, I was not particularly happy with my form (so I probably will repeat it in the next few days).

Current Challenges + Trackers:

I finished another ‘Grateful Gram‘ this week put together by my Peloton friend Britany. It was another great mix of classes and I particularly liked Andy’s Full Body Stretch and Tunde’s Glutes & Legs Class.

I also finished up the other November trackers from my Streakers365 group (I only missed one yoga class on my Personal Streak tracker.) I am super thankful to our admins, who always do such a wonderful job keeping us motivated and entertained. And don’t you love it when the last day of the month falls on a Sunday? It neatly wraps up the month :)

  1. I did not do a Turkey Trot. I did a Turkey walk around the park and some turkey yoga? It was also not Thanksgiving, but I had a lovely week, and enjoyed seeing all the Thanksgiving posts.

  2. You had a great month, San, and I love seeing all of your trackers! I filled out one tracker, which I’ll post in the FB group if I’m not too shy. You’ve worked out for 1800 days straight? That’s so amazing!!
