NaBloPoMo

What is NaBloPoMo?

NaBloPoMo stands for National Blog Posting Month and was created by Eden Kennedy in 2006. She failed at NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) the previous year and decided that writing a novel was too hard, but writing a blog post every day for a month was more doable.

Just like that, NaBloPoMo was born. For 10 years, thousands of bloggers participated in this fun community challenge every November. In 2010, Kennedy relinquished NaBloPoMo to BlogHer, where it was hosted until 2016.

Since then, NaBloPoMo participation numbers have taken a nose-dive. I am not sure if it was because there was no official hosting platform anymore, or if people just moved on to other platforms or stopped blogging altogether.

There have been splinter efforts over the years to continue and revive this blogging challenge with mediocre success, but I personally have participated every year since 2006 and I have no intention to stop.

Will you join me this year?

Please fill out the form and I’ll add you to the semi-official participant list. Hehe.

  1. Hi San – Well, I’ve been going over whether or not to give NaBloPoMO a try and I’m gonna DO IT. I have a lot to share and this seems like the perfect time to go for it. Thanks for organzing.

    1. Hooray! Welcome Ernie! So happy to have you join us :) Can’t wait to check out your blog!

  2. I used to do NaBloPoMo several years in the past, back when my friends and I were more active with our blogging. And then as much as I was lamenting how people were abandoning the finer art of writing their thoughts in more than 100 words at a time, somehow I stopped posting much myself too. But this year I thought to myself, “Self, this is as good a time as any to get back on the wagon and NaBloPoMo is a great way to get motivated to get going again!”
I’m looking forward to jumping back in to blogging regularly in November!
Thanks for setting up this site.

  6. Well shoot, I completely whiffed on it this year after I said I would. Not sure what I was thinking tbh lol. So maybe I’ll try a post a day in December.
