My three-year peloversary

Can you believe it’s been three years since I bought my Peloton bike? It really doesn’t feel this long (the novelty hasn’t really worn off) but at the same time, I can hardly remember a time before I was using the Peloton bike and platform. Some of you have joked that they should pay me for repping the brand (and I totally think they should! Haha.).

If you’ve been reading here for a while, I don’t think you need any convincing that yes, my Peloton bike is very much in use. And if you wonder if the excitement has worn off a little, I’d say not in the slightest. In fact, I would argue that I am more excited than ever. In the last year, I completed 1,987 total workout sessions, 336 more than last year, and 836 more than in my first year. 470 workouts were on the bike and I’ve joined the “Comma Club” (1000+ classes) for cycling, strength workouts, and stretching.

You know, I love my stats, so here’s a pretty pie chart for you.

You know that I’ve also been keeping busy – and consequently, things exciting – by using all the trackers from my Streakers365 group and participating in the PZPack Power Zone Challenges, the SUMMIIT Challenges (PeloFondo, Climb, and Stride) and the Team Wilpers Run Challenges (in case you don’t know, Matt Wilpers is Peloton instructor and runs his own coaching business).

No, things don’t get boring around here. There’s an abundance of Peloton – and offshoot – programs and challenges to keep you busy. I am in my fourth year of completing a 365-day streak, and I haven’t missed a day with Peloton in 1325 days. I guess you could say “It’s a lifestyle”.

To quote one of the Peloton Instructors “Find a group of people who challenge and inspire you, spend a lot of time with them, and it will change your life”. (Ben Alldis) That’s exactly what this platform and the community have offered; a solid selection of different workout classes, camaraderie, and inspiration.

I continue to regularly meet up on the leaderboard with Tanja (or in person, whenever possible) because she’s just as obsessed as I am, and I found a new tribe when I joined the #BCBabes1 last year I added (bike) bootcamps to my regular schedule.

The ‘happiness factor’ is still one of my biggest motivators. If you’ve seen my “Weekly Run Downs”, you know that I usually sport a big smile on my face in my post-workout selfies. Endorphins are real. This bike/platform makes me so happy. Not one day has gone by when I haven’t been excited to see the bike in my living room.

Bring it on, Year 4!

  1. That’s amazing! You are THE Peloton Queen!
I love it when people find their passion and thrive on it. And that’s a great quote about the group of people.
I’m curious, do you also have the totals of those 1,987 classes in hours? I’m guessing it would be around 1’200 hours, which is a lot!

    1. Thank you, Catrina. I’ve really been enjoying the platform. And of course, I do have the stats in hours. It comes out to around 550 hours (there are a lot of shorter classes – 10 min yoga, stretch, etc. – in there).

  2. Happy Peloversary, San! I agree – it has been a life changing purchase for me as well. Who knew? Not me, but I am thrilled to have mine. I just had my four year in July! I mostly just use the cycling, meditation, and strength functions, although I have tried most of the others.

    1. Congratulations to your peloversary, too, Nicole. I know you don’t post/talk much about it, but I know how much you love your bike :)

  3. Congratulations! You definitely found something that works for you. Your stats are impressive and pretty.

    1. Thank you, Ally. It really bring me joy.

  4. yay I love this post! I love seeing how inspired you are by Peloton. There are so many memes about people who buy Pelotons and don’t use them so I love seeing your posts and enthusiasm. And I like how it’s brought you such a sense of community too. I never would have tried the app or known about the classes without your blog!

    1. It makes me so happy to know that I could inspire you to try the Peloton app, Rachel :)

  5. […] was also my three-year Peloversary. I got my long run out of the way first, then I celebrated with a Denis 80’s ride. I was […]

  6. Hi San, I’ve been out of touch since travel and back-to-school… Congratulations on your progress!!! I love the fact that peloton provides exercise AND a wonderful COMMUNITY of like-minded people. Seriously, amazing!

    1. Thank you, Daria. That means a lot.

  7. You really do get your worth out of it, don’t you? Happy Peloversary.

  8. I love how much you love Peloton. You and Nicole. Find what works for you and stick with it, right? I have had my fold-up stationary bike since April 2020, when I didn’t have access to the community gym here (free, with treadmills, elliptical, and bike), we had snow in April, and walking/running in the parking garage wasn’t cutting it. I love it. I had to put it together, but it seems to have held up. I like my own audio and just do boring cycling workouts, but it works for me! I’m still a bit annoyed that I had to break my streak of at least walking/doing something every day. Go, you, for maintaining it!

    1. Thanks so much Anne. I am glad to hear your fold up bike works for you!
