2026 | Weekly Run Down 35/52 – back to training

I jumped back into my marathon training plan this week and I really enjoy having these structured workouts again. I just feel so much better when I know what’s on schedule. I like to just “show up and execute”! Tanja and I worked on week 3 of the Pump Up The Volume 9 (PUTV9) program, and I sprinkled in some classes for my August trackers to keep things entertaining.

Monday

  • 10 Min Body Scan Meditation – Anna (3/7/25) — The Greatest You on Earth
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W4R1 | Hill Repeats
    • 60 Min Rock Run – Becs (7/27/25)
  • 5 Min Cool Down Walk – Becs (5/26/25)
  • 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Becs (8/5/26)
  • 10 Min Restorative – Anna (6/18/26) — The Streak

This week’s training started with hill repeats. Since we don’t have too many hills around here, I opted for the treadmill. I feel like the treadmill is perfect for prescribed hill intervals with a specific incline and/or distance.

Tuesday

  • 20 Min Full Body Strength: W3D1 – Adrian (9/25/23) — PUTV9
  • 30 Min Upper Body Strength – Joslyn (6/14/26) — Streak Show
  • 10 Min Standing Yoga – Mariana (8/18/26)

Today was strength training day and I completed the first weekly class for the PUTV9 program and also checked off a 30-minute upper body class for the Streak Show tracker. I picked a class with Joslyn and really liked it. I like her coaching style for running, and I am excited that she’s teaching more strength classes. I finished with a standing yoga class.

Wednesday

  • 5 Min Courage Meditation – Anna (8/5/24) — The Greatest You on Earth
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W4R2 | Tempo Run
    • 60 Min Rock Run – Susie (6/27/26)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Hips – Denis (12/19/23) — The Streak

I started my morning with a courage meditation, which was perfect for what came next. I went for my tempo run outdoors again today. I really need to take advantage as long as it is light enough out in the morning. 6.5 miles total, 3 miles slightly faster than marathon pace. A good run!

Thursday

  • 5 Min Kindness Meditation – Denis (3/3/26)
  • 20 Min Full Body Strength: W3D2 – Rad (9/25/23) — PUTV9
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W4R3 | Endurance
    • 20 Min 90 Rock Run – Jon (8/4/26)
    • 30 Min 80s Run – Jon (5/8/26)
  • 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Jon (12/10/25) — The Greatest You on Earth
  • 10 Min Resistance Bands: Upper Body – Matty (12/5/22) — Streak Show
  • 10 Min Restorative – Nico (7/13/26) — The Streak

I employed Denis this morning to help me wake up with a 5-minute kindness meditation. I completed the second strength class for PUTV9 and then got out for my 5-mile run at easy pace. I then had to squeeze in a 10-minute resistance band class that I forgot to do after the other strength class (ups) before jumping in the shower.

The restorative yoga class helped me wind down in the evening.

Friday

  • 30 Min Coming Out Strong Yoga – Aditi (5/31/25) — Streak Show/The Streak
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W4R5 | Endurance
    • 30 Min 90s Run – Mariana (8/13/26)
  • 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Mariana (3/4/26)

I started my morning with a 30 minute yoga class and then went for a quick run, 3 easy miles around the neighborhood.

Saturday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W4R4 | Long Run
    • 60 Min Long Run – Matt (2/24/26)
    • 45 Min Pop Run – Susie (10/22/24)
  • 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Jon (5/26/25)
  • 15 Min Yoga Drills: Hips – Kirra (4/8/25) — Streak Show
  • 10 Min Restorative – Denis (3/27/26) — The Streak

Today I got back to running double digits: 10 miles for my long run. I tried to keep my pace easy (sometimes that’s harder than one might think) and felt good at the end of the run. (The dip in the graphs were red traffic lights, by the way.)

I also picked one of thee yoga drills classes (for one of the trackers) and a restorative yoga class before bed.

Sunday

  • 10 Min Daily Meditation – Anna (8/16/26)
  • 20 Min Full Body Strength: W3D3 – Andy (9/25/23) — PUTV9
  • 30 Min Sold Out Show Ride – Jenn (7/9/23) — Streak Show
  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Adrian (7/23/26)

  • 500 m Pool Swim
  • 30 Min Restorative – Mariana (10/12/25) — Serenity Sunday/The Streak

I started my morning with a meditation and then met up with Tanja to finish up week 3 of the Pump Up The Volume 9 program with Andy and pedal our legs out on Jenn’s Sold Out Show Ride. It was a good playlist. I added a 10-minute stretch.

In the afternoon, I went to the pool for a quick swim and some relaxing, and later joined the Streakers for a long restorative yoga class for Serenity Sunday.

  1. So wait- do you have a marathon on your race schedule? What is happening here? : ) You’re definitely putting in some solid training!
I like how you did a “courage” meditation before your tempo run. Sounds about right!

    1. I started a marathon training plan but haven’t committed to a race yet. I just needed some structure and we’ll see how it goes…

  2. are you training for a marathon? which one?
I need to find the courage meditation, is it only on peloton?

    1. I am not officially training, I haven’t committed to a race yet but I wanted some structure and build up my base, so I decided to just start a training plan and see where it takes me.
The courage meditation is on the Peloton app, yes, but maybe there are other courage meditations available elsewhere?

  3. I also like to have a set training schedule and will be picking one for one I get back from traveling. So may to choose from. Are you training for a marathon?

    1. Yes, so many to choose from! I had success with the Team Wilpers half marathon training, so I thought I’d try out the marathon training plan… not committed to a race yet, but maybe?!

  4. Nice job on the 10-miler! I totally know what you mean about the challenge in keeping the pace easy. I usually run by feel, and it’s a struggle for me to adjust my pace (going slower or faster) from what just feels “natural.”

    1. Right? I am such a “run by feel” person and it’s hard to go slower or faster that what feels “natural” on any particular day!

  5. The August trackers were so cute! The September trackers are so fun too, with everyone’s favorite classes, including mine and yours! So… today I did the 30-minute “run” with Matt Wilpers, so I could mark it on the tracker. But I did not run – I am not a person who can run. But it was actually fun to walk along to the running class! I hope it’s not cheating!!

    1. Yay, I saw you contributed to the tracker suggestions! I have your Arms & Light Weights Class scheduled for tomorrow. And I also did the 30 min 2000s Run this morning! It’s absolutely NOT cheating if you walked during that class… everybody has to do what’s right for them! :)
