Five years ago, I got my Peloton bike. I still remember how I was sitting by the window waiting for the Peloton delivery van to show up, giddy with excitement. It was the beginning of a one-week staycation for me (I had use-or-lose annual leave to burn) and the timing couldn’t have been better.
Is anybody going to be surprised when I say that it’s still one of the best purchases I’ve ever made? I didn’t think so. I am still using the Peloton platform daily and it still keeps me motivated, entertained, and accountable. I know you’ve had to listen to a lot of Peloton talk here over the years, but I think being on Streak Day 2062, and showing up for myself consistently for 315 weeks, proves my dedication to this bike and this platform. I am in my fifth year of completing a 365-day streak, and I am not planning to change this.
Sadly, I haven’t been able to work out with friends as much as I used to (or as much as I’d like) lately, which is mainly due to timing issues. Ever since I’ve had to go back to the office full-time last year and other people’s schedules shifted as well, it’s gotten more challenging to find overlapping workout times with my friends (especially the ones in different times zones). It’s also hard to fit in everything that I want to do, follow the trackers, AND pick classes that other people want to take with me. But I am still very much making an effort to regularly meet up with my #pelobestie Tanja on the leaderboard (or in person, whenever possible) and with the #BCBabes1 (Lindsay, Sherry, Kristin and Melissa) as often as I can. I also always enjoy when I see Nicole, or Michelle pop up on the leaderboard and with a the brand-new feature to give high-fives to people outside of class, it’s nice to be able to interact and send some motivation, even if we’re not taking the same class together.
I also continue to be part of the Streakers365 (Facebook) group, and participate in the PZPack Power Zone Challenges, the SUMMIIT Challenges (PeloFondo, Climb, and Stride) and the Team Wilpers Run Challenges.
Here’s to another year!

August 17, 2026 at 9:12 amWow, congratulations on 5 years! 2062 days! 315 weeks! You are such an inspiration to me! The bike didn’t work out for me, but I still love the Peloton platform. It motivates me to move every day, and there are plenty of classes to take without the bike. (For anyone thinking about a bike, they have a rental program that’s really awesome!) I wish I could try out the tread…

August 18, 2026 at 4:06 amCongratulations my friend – I’m very very happy and pleased you made the decision to purchase the bike and join the “cult”. Even though we are currently not able to work out as often as we used to, I know we will get back there one day. Until then, I’ll take what I can get – preferable in person workouts…. #hopefullysoonagain

August 18, 2026 at 5:03 amThis new feature of high-fiving from outside the class is great! I confess I was super confused at first (San is high-fiving me? Where is she? I can’t high-five back?). I love it! It’s…how long is it…six years for me, I guess. It was six years in July! It’s such a great platform with so many choices. Best thing to come out of the pandemic for me, that’s for sure.

August 18, 2026 at 8:13 amHappy pelo-versary. I am so glad you love your bike this much. I love your dedication to working out. I can only imagine how fun it would be to workout ‘together’ with people online. I do in person workouts in the summer when I’m not babysitting and it is fun to cross paths with people. There’s a different energy for sure. My SIL doesn’t have any peloton equipment, but she just told me that they use the peloton app when they workout. Huh. I didn’t know that was a thing. I usually run or do caroline Girvan videos.
