2025 Weekly Run Down 19/52 – Down in SoCal

This week’s stats:

Running: 8 mi
Walking: 18.08 mi
Swimming: 20 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 160 min
Warm up/Stretching: 30 min
Meditation: 280 min

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

I was in SoCal this week, away from my bike, which meant I could shift my focus back to running and other workouts that I can do on the Peloton app, like longer yoga sessions. I have maintained a well-established daily yoga routine for months now, but I usually do 10-15 minute classes and fit them around my other workouts. This week, I have purposefully chosen longer yoga sessions and I am really liking them. Also, long sleep meditation classes are really nice. Something else I want to fit in more often. (I need more hours in the day, ha.)

  • 21 Min Just Walk: Outdoor
  • 30 Min Sleep Meditation – Ross (1/31/24)

I decided to do some longer yoga flows this week and really enjoyed the 30-minute flow with Anna.

  • 37 Min Just Walk: Outdoor
  • 30 Min Sleep Meditation – Anna (3/16/24)

I tricked myself and went out for a 30-minute run this morning to then extend it to 45-minutes. I know it’s a little mental game, but 30+15 minutes sometimes seems more doable than 45 minutes. Just me?
I also took a nice walk on the beach before sunset.

Saturday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Denis (5/9/25)
  • 20 Min Morning Yoga Flow – Chelsea (9/27/23) — Personal Streak/May You Bloom
  • 20 Min Pool Swimming
  • 30 Min Sleep Meditation – Aditi (12/1/24)

I drove back to Northern California today and was in the car for 6+ hours. I did a quick morning yoga flow and then hit the road. When I arrived home, the temps were in the 90s and I decided to take a quick dip in the pool and swim a couple of laps. That was so refreshing!

Sunday

  • 10 Min Calming Meditation – Kirra (11/5/24)
  • 20 Min Restorative Yoga – Denis (5/19/21) — Personal Streak/Serenity Sunday
  • 30 Min Sleep Meditation – Ross (4/24/24)

I caught up on some phone calls with family and ran a bunch of errands today and the day got away from me. Rest day FTW.

  1. Yet again I am blown away by your adaptability. I love how you find the good options when you don’t have some things available to you, and make the most of it. I hope the extra yoga and meditation time helped – seems like the timing was right, given all you and Jon are dealing with.
Is the pool new since you moved? I think it must be – but what a lovely perk, if so! We are still easing into summer so no swimming here for weeks, I suspect. :)

  2. Sorry to hear about the ongoing drama with Jon’s mom! I’m sure it’s wearing on both of you. But- sometimes it’s nice to switch things up. You got in some nice runs and yoga sessions. And you had time for meditation and beach walks! You really can’t go wrong with yoga and meditation. I hope this week is a good one for you!

  3. I wish I could get into the longer yoga classes-I am sure my body would like it. I am enjoying the longer Pilates and barre classes on less intense days. Hope this week is a good one!

  4. I have never tried any of the 30-minute sleep meditations…I suspect I’d fall asleep halfway through, LOL. Well, I guess that wouldn’t be a bad thing, but still. Nice job keeping active while traveling!

  5. A walk on the beach before sunset sounds amazing! My pulse almost slows just thinking of that! Good for you for still getting a variety of workouts in despite being away from your bike!

I tweaked something in my shoulder/arm recently so am sticking to running until it heals. But I got several runs in and ran around the lake in our neighborhood for the first time of the season! Usually I just run the south part of the lake path but decided to run around the lake now that I’m getting some endurance back.

  6. Swimming after a long drive sounds ideal. I have not tried any new classes, but I’m thrilled that Mini is home to watch the babies which means I can attend my fav class on Monday that I skip diluting the school year.

  7. Even though the trip was not from a happy place you did make the most of it. I mean walking by the beaches is always calming. Hope this carries you forward.
I have started doing longer yoga sessions too. I usually did 20-30 min but I am trying to work towards 60 min. It’s a different experience.
Your rest day still looks like a work out day for me. Haha.
