2025 Weekly Run Down 20/52 – Pivot and adapt

This week’s stats:

Running: 3.2 mi
Cycling: 37.1 mi
Walking: 15.08 mi
Strength: 15 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 100 min
Warm up/Stretching: 15 min
Meditation: 205 min

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

This was another weird week when it comes to workouts. I was proud of myself for planning out my week and getting a run in before work on Tuesday, only to get my routine derailed again when I had to drive back down to SoCal on Friday to help Jon with his mom (who transitioned back home from the care center earlier this week). So, I do what I always do: pivot, adapt, and do what I can.

Hey, at least I got to walk on the beach again. Oh, and I hit my Streak Day 1600 on Monday. Hooray.

How was your week? Did you have to pivot?

  1. I did pivot this week – visiting my family, so without my bike and leaning hard on the early morning walks. Giving the forecast the side-eye as it’s supposed to be downright cold Wednesday and Thursday mornings. It’s not the SoCal beach, that’s for sure. ;)
I need to look into the Peloton meditations – not a member, but wondering whether I can access any to try them – even temporarily – for free… You seem to get so much from those and the yoga classes. Hm. Ponder, ponder…

  2. Ugh, I am so sorry about this continuing drama with Jon’s mom! I’m sure it’s hard on all of you. But as usual, you’re making the best of it. A walk on the beach is never a bad thing!
I also just read your last post- HOORAY for a blogger meetup! I met Caroline earlier this year, and Julie seems like someone I would really like. I wish I had been there with you girls!!!

  3. Glad to hear Jon’s mom is back home. Hopefully her situation is improving? A beach walk sounds great!

  4. Looks like your pivot game is on-point! I hope all is going well with Jon’s mom.

  5. Having the ability to pivot without derailing is a skill! Nice job getting your workouts in with a challenging week.

  6. This must be so energy draining. The back and worth and being flexible. I know you do this all without complaint but it’s draining I am sure.

Glad you could enjoy the beach though.

I hurt my thigh (I think I had some torn muscle) which derailed my work outs. I was just getting back from the fever that knocked me down. And right now the third thing creeps up as I fear I have Covid. Sigh… it’s hard.

You are doing good and better times will come. Hang in there.

  7. Oh rats, we drove down on Friday, we could have given you a ride (if that would have been helpful). I hope she’s getting settled a bit now and you and Jon can spend some time at home together.
