This week was the final week 6 of the Saturday Night Zones Power Zone Challenge and PeloFondo Weekend! In case you forgot what PeloFondo is, a live virtual event for both indoor and outdoor cyclists, focused on long distance mileage. You pledge to ride a number of miles over the weekend, either by yourself or with team. Of course, I signed up with my Streakers365 team again for this event. This was my 11th time participating!
I also finished up the last week of the Power Zone Challenge and usually you’re supposed to test and re-do your FTP test at the end of the challenge, but I opted to delay that for two reasons; a) I feel like my zones are still pretty accurate and b) I wanted to focus on PeloFondo which is mileage > output! I might re-test again before the next Power Zone Challenge. If you do Power Zone training, when was the last time you tested?

I started my morning with meditation and a Power Zone Endurance ride – 8 min intervals in zone 3. Not easy, but not hard. I enjoy it. I finished with a yoga flow and then rode my bike to work.

I chose Denis’ Paul McCartney & Wings Ride for one of the trackers this morning and what a fun ride! I also did a light arms workout and a focus flow for quads. I rode my bike to work and opted for a Earth Day Meditation Walk during my lunch break!

PeloFondo Weekend is here! I pledged 50 miles for my Streakers365 team. I had a couple of errands to run in the morning and logged the first 6 miles for PeloFondo on my outdoor rides. When I got back home, I had planned to keep riding on my Peloton, but I found out that we had an Internet outage, so my plans were derailed. It didn’t look good for me because the Internet was estimated to be restored by 10 PM (NOOO!). Luckily, it didn’t take quite that long and I was finally able to get on the bike at 6 pm. I decided to get my last Power Zone Endurance Ride for the week out of the way, and then added a couple of low impact rides to end at 32 miles for Day 1.

I met up with the #BCBabes1 and some other Streakers in the morning for more PeloFondo miles. We had stacked a few classes that we were going to ride together. It’s always better to ride with friends! We also had a fun bingo card to fill out, which helped to pick classes!
I hopped on the bike again in the afternoon to get a few more miles. I had already reached my pledge goal but thought I could get 75 miles. I exceeded the 75 miles in my presumably last ride and then decided to go for 80 miles and then I exceeded that once again and settled on 90 miles. Haha. PeloFondo is sneaky like that. It keeps you going to get just a few more miles.

By, you know, 15 miles. ;) I think you did that the last time, too, if I remember correctly? I love that you are getting out for lunchtime walks and riding your bike to work. You really put in the work to make fitness and health a centerpiece of your life -a wonderful example for the rest of us. <3
