2024 Weekly Run Down 48/52 – Thanksgiving Week

This week’s stats:

Running: 26.9 mi
Cycling: 5 mi
Strength: 60 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 70 min
Warm up/Stretching: 35 min
Meditation: 10 min

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

We’re officially one week away from race day. Aaah! I am nervous, but excited. This week felt nice. The runs were easy runs, the ‘long’ run on Saturday wasn’t really that long (comparatively speaking) and I am enjoying the start of the taper. I am super happy with how the training went, I was able to stick to the training plan, and most importantly, I didn’t get injured! I am as ready as one can be. Now I am just hoping for a good race day!

Monday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Kristin (5/7/24)
  • 20 Min Pilates – Aditi (11/22/24) — Personal Streak

I got to take the Pilates class with Tanja this morning. Yay!

Tuesday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 45 Min Easy Run
    • 45 Min Tempo Run – Robin (8/18/19) — Road to 26.2
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Denis (4/10/23) — Personal Streak

I completed an easy run in the morning and a focus flow for runners.

Wednesday

  • 30 Min Strength for Runners – Rebecca (9/23/22) — Road to 26.2
  • 20 Min 80s Ride – Bradley (11/23/24)

I did a strength for runners class and then hopped on the bike for a quick ride with Bradley. He always puts me in a good mood. I was supposed to run today, but spontaneously switched my run day with my cross-training day on Thursday, so I could do a ‘turkey trot’ on Thanksgiving Day.

Thursday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 45 Min Easy Run
    • 30 Min Turkey Burn Run – Alex T. (11/28/24)
    • 15 Min 90s Pop Run – Jon (11/26/24)
  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – JJ (11/14/24)
  • 15 Min Restorative Yoga – Denis (1/23/22) — Personal Streak

I contemplated running the Turkey Trot this year again, but honestly, I wasn’t ready to pay another race fee. I also really wanted to sleep in and have a cozy morning in front of our fireplace – so I did that. But I did go out for my own 5-mile Turkey Trot (easy run) in the afternoon because it was a beautiful sunny day.

Friday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 35 Min Easy Run
    • 30 Min Classic Rock Run – Matt (11/26/24)
    • 5 Min Cool Down Run – Andy (7/24/24)
  • 30 Min Strength for Runners – Andy (9/23/22) — Road to 26.2
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Kristin (9/19/23) — Personal Streak

I ran errands in the morning (grocery shopping on Black Friday, when the supermarket is empty!) and then did my easy run in the afternoon.

Saturday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 9-mile run
    • 30 Min Jingle Jog – Adrian (11/30/24)
    • 30 Min Run – Becs (11/19/24)
    • 30 Min Run – Jess K (9/24/24)
  • 5 Min Standing Yoga – Anna (4/21/22) — Personal Streak

Today was my last ‘long run’ before race day. 9 miles doesn’t feel this long considering what’s coming up, haha.

Sunday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 45 Min Easy Run
    • 20 min 2010s Run – Jon (5/13/22) — Road to 26.2
    • 20 Min 90s Run – Susie (10/1/24)
    • 5 Min Cool Down Run – Andy (7/24/24)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Kristin (10/26/22) — Personal Streak

I slept longer in the morning (trying to prioritize sleep for these last few weeks) and went out for some easy miles around 11 a.m.

Current Challenges + Trackers:

I slacked a little bit on the trackers this month. I did finish the Gratitude Jar (that was so much fun and it was easy to find 20 different instructors because there are so many good ones to choose from!). I missed one class for the Self-Gratitude tracker and a few yoga classes for my personal streak. I don’t even count the bootcamp tracker, but I am glad I got at least two done this month.

How was your week? Did you run a Turkey Trot this year?
