I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

PeloFondo is over, it’s a new month and after couple of active rest days at the beginning of the week, I am looking forward to new challenges ahead. The Streakers365 admin team once again created some fun new trackers for August (see below). I hit another milestone this week (600 runs!) and of course found out AFTEr the run. Go figure.

Monday

  • 20 Min Focus Flow: Shoulders – Kristin (3/28/23) — Personal Streak/Summer Radiance
  • 10 Min Summer Break Full Body Stretch – Irène (7/28/24)

I took a rest day today after PeloFondo and just opted for some yoga and stretching.

Tuesday

  • 10 Min Core Strength – Adrian (7/23/24) — Core on Tour
  • 10 Min Yoga Flow – Denis ( 7/9/24) — Personal Streak

I was very short on time this morning because I was going out to do scientific fieldwork and had to be at the office very early. I had time to join Sherry for some core strength and did a short yoga flow before getting ready for a long (15-hour!) field day.

Wednesday

  • 30 Min Pop Bootcamp: Callie (2/23/24) — Highway Havoc
  • 30 Min Rock Ride – Denis (7/29/23)
  • 5 Min Cool Down Ride – Cody (7/30/24)
  • 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Alex T (7/11/24)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Kirra (6/26/24) — Personal Streak

I had a hard time getting out of bed this morning. I slept so hard after a (very) long workday on Tuesday and felt a little sore from some of the work we’d done. I had originally planned to join the #BCBabes for a 45-minute Bootcamp but didn’t feel up to it and pivoted to a 30-minute class instead. Then I had scheduled to repeat the 30-minute Rock Ride with Denis (that we did during PeloFondo). I had invited my sister and Tanja to take this ride with me and Sherry also agreed to join again. This class is so much fun. I highly recommend it, if you haven’t taken it.

Thursday

  • 5 min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/4/23)
  • 60 Min Rock Run – Becs (7/21/24) — The Vote Goes To…
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Kristin (5/16/24) — Personal Streak

New month, new trackers! I had a 60-minute interval run on my schedule this morning and checked off the first square on one of the new August trackers. I also really enjoyed Kristin’s focus flow for runners instead of a stretch.

Friday

  • 10 Min Yoga Flow – Kristin (5/22/24) — Personal Streak
  • 30 Min Bootcamp: Full Body – Tunde (2/25/22) — ABC’s Bootcamp/The Vote Goes To…
  • 20 Min Tropical House Ride – Kendall (8/31/22)
  • 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Erik (7/24/24)
  • 10 Min Standing Core Strength – Rebecca (7/31/24) — Ab-versity

I started my day with a quick yoga flow, met up with Tanja and the #BCBabes for a bootcamp with Tunde, and then pedaled the legs out on Kendall’s Tropical House Ride with Melissa.

Saturday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Jess K (7/31/24)
  • 60 Min Endurance Run – Becs (2/8/24)
  • 30 Min Endurance Run – Matt (6/16/24) — The Vote Goes To…
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Denis (10/31/23) — Personal Streak
  • 10 Min Pilates – Kristin (6/14/24) — Ab-versity
  • 10 Min Lower Body Stretch – Selena (7/24/24) — Back to Bliss

I had a long run on deck and the temps were already well into the 70s when I started my run at 8:30 am and it was in the mid-80s when I returned home. I did ok, but I should have known better and gotten out earlier. The heat gets to me quickly. I did take water and hydrated a lot after but still ended up with a slight headache for most of the day.

Sunday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/4/23)
  • 30 Min 80s Run – Susie (8/3/24) — The Vote Goes To…/600th run
  • Extra 10: Endurance – Matt (5/6/24)
  • 10 Min Roll Call: Core Strength – Ben (3/28/24) — Ab-versity
  • 10 Min Arms & Shoulders Strength – Ben (7/29/24)
  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Ross (6/6/24) — Back to Bliss
  • 20 Min Restorative Yoga – Kirra (5/16/24) — Personal Streak
  • 10 Min Peace Meditation – Anna (1/18/21)

I hit my 600th run milestone today. Of course, I found out AFTER the run. I really need to be more on top of my milestone classes. I picked a good run though – I always love Susie’s 80s runs. I added a little bit of core and upper body work after and stretched with Ross. Later in the afternoon, I joined again for ‘Serenity Sunday’ restorative yoga and meditation.

Current Challenges + Trackers:

It’s August and we have a whole new set of trackers. Appropriately, the theme this month is “Back to School”. I got a good start this week and I once again appreciate and enjoy the creativity of our Streakers365 admin team that came up with these trackers.

Streaker365 Serenity Sunday (restorative yoga + meditation)

Did you have a good week? What was your favorite workout?

  1. Congrats on your 600th run milestone! Funny you didn’t realize it until afterwards. Cute theming this month for the trackers. Back to school was always my favorite time of the year.

  2. Wow, 600 runs! I Honestly, have no idea where my counts are regarding milestones. My basic membership only allows three cardio “equipment” classes each month (tread, walk, run, bike), so I’m not doing very many of those these days. I do need to bookmark that Denis class, though!

    1. Ah damn, that sucks that you only get three cardio equipment classes on the app now. But you do need to bookmark that Denis class. I agree :)

  3. Girl…. I`m so impressed! Another milestone, this time 600 runs – you are a B.E.A.S.T., in the most wonderful way! xo

    1. Thank you friend <3 you're my biggest cheerleader.

  4. Congrats on your 600 runs! That is the one thing I do not track on Pelo as I run with my group. It is motivating to check things off on trackers and see the badges pop up. So many great classes to take lately!

    1. I track all my runs with Garmin but I still use the Peloton classes for entertainment… I probably wouldn’t if I ran with a group like you :)

  5. Honestly, I hate to think that August is back to school. LOL. Classes at my institution don’t start up until September and I am grateful for that.
Congrats on your 600th ride! I’m glad it was a good one!

    1. I only know it’s back to school because I work on a campus LOL

  6. 600 runs!! Wowsers!! Good for you!
I ran 8 miles with Kyria on Saturday. We started around 7:45-8 I think. We had to wait for Phil to come down to take over watching the kids so did not start as early as ideal. But someday the kids will be older and won’t need so much supervision and I can leave the house when I want to on weekend mornings! It was a bit less humid than usual so the run felt pretty good all in all and it flew by since we were talking the entire time! That was my longest run since my 10 mile race in Oct 2021!

    1. I am so happy you got to run with Kyra! Way to go!

  7. New month! New trackers!
    I love it!
I don’t know if I had a favorite workout this week, but I will be super happy when I can get back outside after all the storms.

    1. Ugh, I am sorry you’re dealing with so much rain… I hope it’ll get better for you.

  8. 600 runs, that’s a lot! Way to go! Love all the challenges and trackers. So organized!

    1. Thank you Jessie. I try to keep it fun around here :)

  9. Oh, fun. Fun fun fun. Well, not the hot and draining run, but hey, better to find out now, vs. when you’re on a 20-miler? Maybe? :)
I just love how your workouts = your community, or one of them. What a wonderful way to gain multiple benefits – physical, mental, emotional – from something. <3
