2024 Weekly Run Down 7/52 – Travel Week

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

This week’s stats:

Running: 22.6 mi
Walking: 1.5 mi
Cycling: 46.7 mi
Bootcamp: 60 min
Strength: 30 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 130 min
Warm up + Stretching: 45 min
Meditation: 35 min

This week, I was shuffling stuff around again. I was going to be away from my bike from Friday to Monday and needed to make sure I got all my PZ Rides in before I left. I pushed some of my runs to the weekend, which worked out because I am always looking forward to running by the beach.

I’ve also been chipping away at my trackers. I think my favorite is the “My Favorite Things” tracker, because it’s fun to choose favorite modalities, music genres, instructor, and artist series classes! Oh, and I managed another instructor blackout bingo!

Monday

  • 15 Min Earth, Wind & Fire Barre – Hannah C (1/18/24) — Valentine’s Graham Stack Exchange/Instructor Bingo
  • 10 Min Core Strength – Adrian (7/8/21) — For the Love of Core/Instructor Bingo
  • 30 Min Power Zone Endurance Ride – Sam (5/17/23) — W6R1
  • 10 Min Low Impact Ride – Robin (12/27/21) — Instructor Bingo
  • 20 Min Yin Yoga – Kristin (12/6/23) — Self-Love Hug/Personal Streak/Instructor Bingo
  • 15 Min Sleep Meditation – Aditi (11/3/21)

I completed the last class for my Valentine’s Graham Stack Exchange. Hannah C is not my favorite, but this Barre class was pretty good. I followed with some core and a Power Zone Endurance Ride for the Power Zone Challenge. I couldn’t ride with Tanja today and had to battle through the 7-minute intervals by myself, but it was nice to take a ride with Sam for a change. Also, 7 minutes in  Zone 3 is less intimidating than Zone 4 (from last week), in case you were wondering (or not). I finished my morning with Kristin’s Yin Yoga for the Self-Love Hug tracker.

Tuesday

  • 20 Min Ludacris Full Body Strength – Jess (10/26/23) — Instructor Bingo
  • 30 Min Bootcamp: Full Body – Callie (8/25/23) — Love & Bootcamp
  • 10 Min Rock Barre: Core – Ally (2/15/23) — FeBARRErary/For the Love of Core/Instructor Bingo
  • 30 Min Power Zone Rock Ride – Ben (8/30/23) — PZ-W6R2/Instructor Bingo
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Hips – Denis (10/17/23) — Personal Streak
  • 30 Min Pop Ride – Irène (2/13/24)
  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Erik (1/11/24)

Lindsay, Sherry and I started with Ludacris Strength and then Melissa joined us for Callie’s boot camp. I slipped in a quick Barre session, before I hoped on the bike to tackle a sweet spot ride with Tanja. Another ride with 7-minute intervals. This week’s PZ ride structure was really ramping it up slowly.

Later, I decided to join for Irène’s premier “Premier Ride” around 9 am (mid-morning break, haha). If you’ve been on the Peloton platform, you might recall that Irène was one of the German instructors who left Peloton in 2021 to much dismay of many (including me), but she recently announced that she’s coming back to Peloton in early 2024. Of course, I wanted to be there for her return!

Wednesday

  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Core – Denis (2/4/22) — For the Love of Core/Personal Streak
  • 15 Min Hip Hop Barre – Ally (2/14/24)

      • 45 Min Endurance Run
      • 5 Min Cool Down
  • 10 Min Post-Run Stretch – Matt (12/15/22)
  • 6 Min Just Walk

I started my morning with a core focus flow with Denis that I highly recommend. It’s another one worth bookmarking. I joined Sherry and Melissa for Ally’s Hip Hop Barre and then had a 60 minute endurance run on deck. (I am still catching up on my Team Wilpers running plan. This was the endurance run I should have completed last weekend, so I am not too far behind.) I also hit 5k Peloton minutes in Ally’s Barre class.

Thursday

  • 30 Min Latin Bootcamp – Jess (10/6/23) — Love & Bootcamp
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Core – Kristin (7/6/22) — For the Love of Core/Personal Streak

  • Extra10: Low Impact – Camila (8/21/23) — Instructor Bingo
  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Ben (2/14/24)

In the morning, I met up with Sherry and Kristin for a boot camp. I did a focus flow core afterward and then Tanja and I were scheduled for week 6, ride 2 of the Power Zone Challenge. It was a tough ride with 6 x 4 min intervals in Zone 4, but Christine’s coaching was spot on. She’s really grown on me as an instructor lately.

I started my day with Kristin’s Grunge Flow for the “My Favorite Things” tracker. Grunge is one of my favorite music genres, hands-down. 90’s girl over here!
Then I had a 45 minute anaerobic capacity interval run on the schedule. I am in SoCal this weekend (traveled down here on Thursday afternoon) and the weather was a lovely 55F and sunshine. Perfect running weather.

I am trying to catch up on the Team Wilpers Winter Run Challenge this week, so I had another intervals run – V02 Max pace – on deck for today. I always dread these runs a little bit and then end up loving them, because the intervals make the time fly by! I also finished a couple more classes for the trackers and instructor bingo.

Sunday morning I checked off a couple of classes for my trackers and instructor bingo, before I headed down to the beach for my long run. I love running by the beach when I am down here in SoCal…. but the weather has been pretty rough here lately and there were a lot of high surf advisories for the beaches. They’ve been pretty torn up these last few weeks and there is a lot of driftwood and debris.

Where did your run this week? Or what was your favorite workout?

  1. All of your challenges do force you to get a variety of Peloton classes in! Nice work this week-it can be hard to pull off while traveling

  2. You know, while I was reading your previous post about how you don’t feel like you have as much time to be creative these days…. i was thinking that you really put a lot of creativity into your workouts! I mean, look at this post compared to the average person (I ran MWF, lifted weights T-TH, etc.) You’re obviously having a lot of fun with it, taking on a lot of challenges, and figuring out how to make it work when life events might get in the way. So- great job on an active and creative week!

  3. Nice job on your variety of workouts. Your run by the beach sounds wonderful! I just love running by water.

  4. I’ll have to look into that Focus Flow: Core with Denis – I love his classes!

  5. Running y the beach must be nice. I love all the drift wood though. I can see so many craft projects in that pile.

  6. Reading about the German instructor who left and came back is raising lots of questions for me. Are there international classes? Presumably Peloton is international. Do the instructors all speak English? I feel like I need more info on this side of Peloton!

  7. Busy, busy, busy!! And look at all those workouts (no surprise there), great job! I’m gonna check out that core class with Denis, thnx for the rec. I’m not a fan of Hannah either, but I love Aly for Barre.

  8. I’m always amazed at how much variety you get in your workouts, and how good you are about keeping track of them! Lots of hard work, but also lots of fun. The beach is the best place ever, especially in SoCal where the waves are a little calmer than up here. But yeah, it looks quite the mess after the recent storms, you really have to watch where you’re going!

  9. I am a week behind on blogs but this past week my fave workout was probably my run this morning. I only ran 3 miles but it was nice and sunny and a mild winter morning. I haven’t been running much this winter so am rebuilding my base.

California has really had a crazy stretch of weather. So much rain! It’s feast or famine it seems. We will have odd weather this week. It’s supposed to be 60 tomorrow and then cold the next day and then back to mild. The weather is all over the place.
