2023 Weekly Run Down 49/52 – Getting into the holiday spirit!

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

We’re in December and I worked on a bunch of new Streaker365 trackers this week. Our admins came up with some fun ideas again. I also participated in the December “Favorites” Stack Exchange – it’s like a Secret Santa where you make a workout stack with some of your favorite classes of 2023 for someone else and someone makes a workout stack for you. I am looking forward to taking the classes throughout this month.

I completed week 5 of the “Must See PZ” Power Zone Pack Challenge and I’ve also enjoyed taking some of the holiday classes on the Peloton platform this week. I am finally getting a bit more into the holiday spirit.

Monday

  • 10 Min Core Strength – Rebecca (10/13/23) — Core Snowball Challenge/Instructor Bingo
  • 20 Min Arms & Shoulders Strength – Robin (3/21/23) — Lift Those Snowballs/Instructor Bingo
  • 30 Min Bootcamp: Core – Callie (7/7/23) — PZ-W5AR/Slay Bootcamp/Instructor Bingo
  • 5 Min 80s Pop Warm Up Lanebreak
  • 5 Min Warm Up Ride – Ben (4/17/23)
  • 30 Min Power Zone Max Ride – Matt (12/14/22) — PZ-W5R1/Instructor Bingo
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Hips – Kristin (10/19/23) — Personal Streak/Instructor Bingo

I started my Monday off with some strength classes for my Streakers365 trackers, followed by a bootcamp and week 5, ride 1 of the Must See PZ Challenge, which was a PZ Max Ride.  I don’t know how smart it was to do a bootcamp beforehand, but at least it was a core class (not lower body) and my legs were reasonably fresh when I got on the bike with Tanja. Matt meant business though. The intervals were short, but oh-so-spicy. I managed to squeeze out a 1-point PR nonetheless and I call that a victory in and of itself.

Tuesday

  • 15 Min Dance Barre – Ally (10/4/23) — DecemBARRE/Personal Streak
  • 15 Min Core Strength – JJ (4/4/23) — Core Snowball Challenge
  • 20 Min Glutes & Legs Strength – Robin (12/5/23) — 700th strength class!
  • 15 Min Stacking Stuffer: Extra Mile – Adrian (12/13/21) — Instructor Bingo
  • 60 Min Strength Training (Gym)

I only planned a little strength stack for today. The last class was my 700th strength milestone. In the afternoon, I accompanied Jon to the gym (as a guest, as I am not a member of the gym anymore). Jon has been working with a personal trainer for 7 months now and he really wanted me to meet him. We did a warm-up on the treadmill (Jon walked and I ran for 15 minutes) and then I was invited to do a “couple‘s session” and joined Jon for his workout. We opted for an upper body workout (because I already did legs in the morning) and it was spicy but fun. I loved seeing how the PT works with Jon. I am so proud of him for keeping this up!

Wednesday

  • 5 Min Core Strength – Callie (11/30/23) – Core Snowball Challenge
  • 10 Min Arms & Light Weights – Cody (11/28/23) — Lift those Snowballs
  • 10 Min Metal Barre – Ally (7/5/23) — DecemBARRE/Personal Streak
  • Flash 15 – Jess S (11/21/23) — Instructor Bingo
  • 30 Min KISS Ride – Denis (11/30/23)– Instructor Bingo
  • 10 Min Barbie Full Body Stretch – Adrian (8/3/23)
  • 30 Min Power Zone Ride – CDE (11/6/23) — PZ-W5R2
  • 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Ben (8/11/23)

Today it was Sherry’s birthday and she created a birthday workout stack, which I was happy to join to celebrate with her and the #BCBabes :)  Then Tanja and I  did week 5, ride 2 of the Power Zone Challenge. Let’s just say, we were both happy it wasn’t a PZ Max Ride, but we would have been okay with it just being a Power Zone Endurance Ride today. Haha. That will await us on Saturday and we did make it through the intervals today.

Thursday

  • 10 Min Yoga Flow – Nico (12/4/23) — Personal Streak/Instructor Bingo
  • 10 Min Arms & Shoulders Strength – Chase (2/10/21) — Lift Those Snowballs
  • 20 Min Core Strength – Emma (7/15/23) — Core Snowball Challenge
  • 5 Min Full Body Stretch – Andy (1/4/23)
  • 10 Min Peace Meditation – Ross (9/20/23) — Stretch into the Holidays/Instructor Bingo
  • 30 Min Holiday Walk – Jess K (12/3/23) — Instructor Bingo

Today was my office day, so I just did a bit of yoga and strength work in the morning. I decided to walk home from work (just under 2 miles) in the afternoon and opted for Jess’ Holiday Walk, which was perfect. As you can see, my neighboorhood is getting festive, too. :)

Friday

  • 10 Min Core Strength – JJ (8/2/23) — Core Snowball Challenge
  • 30 Min Bootcamp: Full Body – Jess S (3/28/22) — Slay Bootcamp
  • 20 Min Hanukkah Ride – Jenn (12/7/23)
  • 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Olivia (11/30/23)
  • 20 Min Yin Yoga – Aditi (7/24/23) — Stretch into the Holidays

I survived an Advanced Bootcamp with Lindsay, Sherry and Melissa and as a ‘reward’ we got to do that fun Hanukkah Ride with Jenn. If you haven’t taken it, I highly recommend it.

Saturday

  • 5 Min Warm Up Ride – Denis (8/15/23)
  • 60 Min Power Zone Endurance Ride – Matt (9/30/23) — PZ-W5R3 — PR!
  • Extra 10: Low Impact – Benny (11/20/23) — Instructor Bingo
  • 20 Min Yoga Flow: Core – Denis (10/7/20) — Personal Streak/Core Snowball Challenge
  • 10 Min Arms & Shoulders – Olivia (9/21/21) — Lift those Snowballs

Tanja and I had week 5, ride 3 of the Must See PZ Challenge on deck and we opted for the 60 minute ride (there were three options). I hadn’t done 60 minutes in a while, but it went well. I even managed a 5-point PR. Yay! I also checked off a few strength classes for my trackers and then did “Christmas” stuff for the rest of the day (baking, ordering gifts, and writing cards).

Sunday

  • 15 Min 80s Ride – Bradley (11/16/23) — Instructor Bingo
  • 30 Min Pop Punk Run – Mayla (3/17/23) — Instructor Bingo
  • 20 Min Hanukkah Ride – Robin (12/8/23)
  • 20 Min Chest & Back Strength – Logan (6/13/23) — Lift those Snowballs
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Balancing Poses – Chelsea (10/23/23) — Personal Streak/Instructor Bingo

I hopped on the bike this morning for a quick warm-up with Bradly and then left for a run around the neighborhood. The temperatures were in the 40’s. Cold, yes, but actually quite nice with a side of of sunshine. I did a couple more classes for my trackers before I did some more Christmas baking in the afternoon.

I hope you all are having a great start into the holiday season!

  1. That’s a good activity week as usual. How nice that you went to join Jon with his personal trainer! That’s something I always recommend to everyone if there’s a good personal trainer around. I definitely don’t think I would have had these results without a personal trainer, I would never have chosen to lift so heavy! It’s so helpful to be challenged like that and get support to keep good form too.

  2. Love all the happy holiday interfaces on your trackers. Exercise– but festive!!

  3. I love hearing about going to the gym with Jon! I do not think my husband would appreciate me joining him at the gym! #couplegoals

  4. Wow. As always…just Wow!
And how awesome you got to go to the gym together as a couple <3

  5. Love love love! Awesome that you went with Jon to the gym! That’s so great to share those moments together. And I adore a festive neighborhood!

  6. Busy busy busy!!! You really get a lot done each week, and each day! I also did Denis’ KISS ride recently…it was hilarious!

  7. Nice job on being so active! Those challenges are so colorful and Christmasy that I want to do them all.

  8. As usual, I’m loving the festive holiday classes. And the trip to the gym sounds fun! The trainer was probably hoping you would sign up as well but you’ve got your own thing going on. Congrats to Jon for working with the trainer for 7 months- I always found that a trainer could push me harder than I push myself.
Sounds like you had a fun and active week!

  9. Wow, all those multiple per day workouts! I guess maybe it just looks like an extra amount because it’s often shorter workouts pieced together? But it looks like a ton on paper anyway. :) Well done! Glad you’re finding tons of fun options to get you in the holiday spirit! And the 2 mile walk home from work sounds perfect.

  10. Life goals right there. I’m amazed and awed at the amount of work you put in each week.

  11. That is fun that you got to do a couples PT session with Jon! Phil and I worked out together occasionally when we had kids. Our typical workout would be to go for a run but he came to a yoga sculpt class with me once and we did some workouts in my condo gym a few times. It was fun to do together! Now that ship has sailed as we have to divide and conquer to workout on the weekends, typically. Or what happens is he works out during the week at the gym at work and I mostly workout on the weekends and days I WFH since I can’t workout in the middle of the day like he can!

  12. Great job this week with all the classes and challenges! And the personal trainer sounds like a fun change. Happy holidays!

  13. You know I love reading these detailed reports! So impressive how you hit all those trackers. I also love that you have a virtual Peloton community, and suspect that is what keeps a lot of people coming back – perhaps including you.
And, that is awesome about the couple’s workout! Didn’t make you want to get back to the gym? :)
