I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.
This was another busy week for me. Since I am planning to take some time off starting next week, I was trying to wrap up a lot of things at work – or at least get things ready to hand over to some of my colleagues – so things are not piling up on my desk while I am gone.
As I mentioned in my recent post, I’ve been “floating” a bit when it comes to workouts, randomly picking classes from the Peloton platform in the morning. I still got a nice mix of classes in this week and luckily, with the beginning of a new month, there were new Streakers365 challenges to choose from.
Monday:
- 5 Min Warm up Ride – Bradley (10/5/21)
- 30 Min Pop Punk Ride – Bradley (12/21/22)
- 20 Min Country Ride – Denis (1/17/23)
- Extra 10: Intervals Ride – Bradley (12/26/22)
- 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Bradley (4/5/21)
I had anticipated a little Monday morning date with Bradley Rose but then saw that Tanja was doing Denis’ Country Ride, so of course, I had to hop on that one in between!
Tuesday:
- 5 Min Morning Meditation – Kirra (8/16/22)
- 20 Min Yoga Flow – Kristin (3/21/23)
- 10 Min Core Strength – Erik (3/9/23)
- 10 Min Full Body Strength – Erik (3/23/23)
- 20 Min 2000’s Rock Ride – Ben (3/27/23)
- 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Ben (12/10/20)
I had planned to run, but the weather was non-cooperative because it was raining steadily all day.
Wednesday:
- 20 Min Morning Yoga – Kristin (3/6/23)
- 10 Min Spine Mobility – Andy (2/7/23)
- 10 Min Core Strength – Rad (3/6/23)
- 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Ben (1/9/23)
Some yoga, strength and mobility work.
Thursday:
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Becs (2/9/21)
- 45 Min Intervals Run – Becs (3/25/22)
- 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Becs (4/1/19)
- 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Kirra (3/9/23)
The weather improved (no rain!) and I got to go for my 5-mile morning run. Yay.
Friday:
- 20 Min Sleep Meditation – Kristin (7/19/22)
Friday was a super-busy day. I ran errands in the morning and had planned to work a few hours. Well, I ended up almost working a full day, so needless to say, a few other things – including my workout – fell by the wayside. Unexpected rest day!
Saturday:
- 5 Min Pre-Ride Warm Up – Matt (6/7/19)
- 10 Min Warm Up Ride – Irène (2/16/21) – I miss Irène!
- 30 Min Melissa Etheridge Ride – CDE (12/11/19)
- 20 Min Classic Rock Ride – Bradley (3/23/23) — Dancing in the Rain Challenge
- 20 Min Low Impact Ride – Bradley (3/30/23)
- 5 Min Lower Body Stretch – Callie (2/28/22) – Spring into Self Care
I had to catch up on a few more rides to reach 798 (before my milestone ride with Tanja on Sunday!). I really enjoyed CDE’s Melissa Etheridge ride – I’d encourage you to check it out.
Sunday:
- 5 Min Pre-Ride Warm Up
- 30 Min Feel Good Ride – Ally (2/4/23) — CELEBRATING 800 RIDES!
- 20 Min EDM Ride – Hannah F (3/15/23) — Dancing in the Rain Challenge
- 10 Min Low Impact Ride – Denis (11/1/22)
- 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Andy (3/21/23)
- 10 Min Focus Flow: For Riders – Mariana (11/15/22)
- 10 Min Yoga Conditioning: Lower Body (3/15/23) — Spring into Self Care
Tanja and I celebrated another Peloton milestone – we hit 800 rides! I also hit 7k workout minutes for this year and added on a couple more classes for the Streakers 365 challenges.
Streaker365 Challenges:
I started a couple of new Streakers365 challenges, the “Dancing in the Rain” Challenge and the “Spring into Self Care” Challenge. I am not sure if I’ll be able to finish them as I will be traveling in April, but I won’t know unless I try, right? (At least I can use them for a bit of structure until I leave. And even if I am away from my bike, I can always choose classes from the Peloton app. Should be doable.)
This week’s stats:
Running: 5.2 mi
Cycling: 66 mi
Strength: 30 min
Yoga: 70 min
Warm up + Stretching: 80 min
Meditation: 25 min
How have you started the new month?

April 3, 2023 at 6:32 amOh Bradley is one of my favorite instructors – his rides always make me smile! I am entering April leaning into some structure, as well, because we have a trip right in the middle of it haha. It definitely helps me stay focused and consistent with so much other stuff going on on either side of a vacation (and gives me something to come back to).

April 5, 2023 at 1:48 pmYes, Bradley has really grown on me… he always puts me in such a good mood :)

April 3, 2023 at 6:34 amMy workouts were sporadic last month at best! I made the decision to NOT run on the treadmill this winter…and I’ve loved it. So my only exercise has been walking. I’ll start running outside soon, but it’s still pretty cold and bitter (and even icy in a few places), so it’s not quite time yet? I’m excited, but also know since I didn’t run all winter (last outdoor run was December 27th – yikes), I’m going to have a lot of work to do. My goal is to get back to 10K. That’s about the max time and distance I can handle at this stage of life.
Safe travels <3

April 3, 2023 at 7:12 amI mean. Here we are. In April. Moving forward, because time marches on.
You are doing great, even if you feel like you are “floating.” So many varied activities and I love that you are picking up two challenges for the month!

April 5, 2023 at 1:49 pmThanks Jenn, I feel as long as we’re moving forward and moving our bodies, we’re doing something right :)

April 3, 2023 at 8:00 amI have started the month with two Caroline Girvan workouts and I am sore today! Ha ha. I think it’s actually going to start warming up here and I will be able to do a couple of runs outside, maybe even this week? That will be a nice change of pace.
I’m glad the new month is bringing you extra motivation and congrats on your 800 rides milestone!
San
April 5, 2023 at 1:49 pmGood for you for keeping up with your workouts, Engie. Soreness is a sign of progress ;)
And thanks for the congrats on my milestone ride!

April 3, 2023 at 9:43 amLooks like a great mix of Peloton workouts for you this week. I just did one of the new yoga conditioning classes and really liked it. Have you tried any of those?
San
April 5, 2023 at 1:50 pmYes! I have done a couple of the conditioning classes and I really enjoy them too!

April 3, 2023 at 10:35 amYou get in such a nice mixture of fitness!
Thanks for the tip about the Melissa Etheridge ride. I find it actually really hard to find workouts with music I actually enjoy!
Your challenges sound interesting, too.

April 5, 2023 at 1:50 pmI need to find a better system of keeping track of classes that I really enjoyed… do you listen to your own playlists when you’re working out?

April 3, 2023 at 12:35 pmWhew, you’ve been busy! I’ve been “off” the bike since Thursday, so I might hop on later for a shakeout ride…my legs are still in recovery mode (aka -DOMS!) following yesterday’s Cherry Blossom 10-miler. This morning’s 3-ish flight home did not help that issue, LOL

April 5, 2023 at 1:51 pmYou totally deserved a couple of rest days, Kim!

April 3, 2023 at 1:13 pmCongrats on hitting 800 rides – that’s awesome! It looks like you’ll definitely hit that 1,000 ride milestone this year too!

April 5, 2023 at 5:45 pmDo you have a favorite Peloton coach? I find myself gravitating towards the same ones a lot. I’m totally with you on needing some structure and not just picking random classes.

April 6, 2023 at 5:22 pmIt’s great that you have Peloton to fall back on when work or the weather keep you from getting your planned workouts completed. There seems to be such a great variety to choose from!

April 7, 2023 at 3:50 pmOooooh – I love that long sleeve tech shirt you have on! I’m a sucker for a great long sleeve. Well done on your workouts this week!

April 14, 2023 at 9:01 amI think it is so darn cool that you and Tanja hit 800 *on the same day*! Talk about coordination. Go, you two!
I can really learn from your take-what-comes approach to fitness. You’ll be shocked (HA – not really) to find out that I tend to be rigid and committed to doing what I said I’d do, no matter what. Your approach is so much healthier, and more sustainable. Love that. <3
