I’ve been sharing things I am thankful for on Thanksgiving Day for the last few NaBloPoMo-years and this year will be no different. It’s always a good time of year to reflect on the year and remember the things we are thankful for. If you’re not into these kinds of posts, you may skip today. I on the other hand enjoy reading what other people are thankful for this holiday season, so if you posted your own Thankful-post, let me know.
I am thankful for J, who will always be the guy who makes me laugh and love the strongest. Marriage is not for the faint-hearted, but at the end of the day, he’s the one I wanna come home to.
I am thankful for being healthy, for being able to keep up with running and races, and the unexpected joy it gives me.
I am thankful for our home and neighborhood. I love living in our small house and love being at home. It’s so nice to come home to a space where you feel comfortable and safe.
I am thankful for my job. Even if I have days where I am frustrated or bored, I generally like the work I do, my co-workers, work environment, and flexible work schedule and I am so very grateful for that.
I am thankful for friends that I know are not going anywhere, even if we haven’t been in touch as much as I would have liked to. It feels good to know that these friendships are rock-solid, no matter what happens.
I am thankful for the precious time I was able to spend with my cousin and his girlfriend exploring some National Park in September. What an unforgettable road trip.
I am thankful for my family and I wish I could spend the day with them. I know that many people don’t have the close relationship with their parents/families that I have and I am very mindful of that and don’t take it for granted. I just miss them extra-hard today.
I am thankful for captivating books, knitting, good movies, yummy food, and coffee + tea.
I am thankful for YOU. Thank you for reading here and leaving comments and words of kindness and encouragement.
Happy Thanksgiving, friends. I hope you’re all having a lovely holiday weekend.

November 25, 2017 at 6:57 amI love reading Thankful posts! It’s amazing how much we have to be thankful for when we stop and think about it! I can see how holidays are bittersweet for you when you live so very far from your family. :( I know my sister struggles with that, even though she is much closer to us than you are to your family (she is in Arizona). I hope you had a great Turkey day!
