My 4-year peloversary

I cannot believe I let my Pelo-versary go by without even mentioning it in my Weekly Run Down post. As you all know, I am insanely behind on everything blog-related, so why would I be on top of posting about the anniversary of the purchase of a piece of fitness equipment? You all could have probably done without another post about the Peloton bike+ that I bought exactly 4 years (and 16 days) ago, but here we are!

I am still every bit as obsessed with the Peloton as on the day I got it. I know a few people who bought one and never really consistently used it, but it’s still very much the center of my workout world. In fact, I’d say that it’s been my reliable crutch these last few months. If in doubt, pick a class from the Peloton platform and feel better. The formula is simple, and I could always rely on the fact that a sweaty workout would do the trick.

Many things have fallen by the wayside this year, but not my Peloton routine. I am happy to say that I still kept my Peloton streak going (today is streak day 1714), and in recent months, I’ve made particularly good use of Peloton’s meditation offerings. Getting into a meditation routine hasn’t been the worst idea after finding out what a shitshow 2025 would be. Even if I felt like I’ve been pretty inconsistent with my workout routine at times because it was repeatedly thrown for a loop this year, one might disagree just looking at my stats.

I completed 2,045 total workout sessions, 58 more than the previous year. 292 workouts were on the bike. I also ran a lot of Peloton-supported miles during marathon training at the end of last year. I’ve spent a lot of time in yoga poses, and I have been very good about stretching and taking care of my body. Bootcamps have been put a bit on the back burner, and I also need to get back to a more robust strength training schedule.

You know, I love my stats, so here’s a pretty pie chart for you.

You know that I keep busy – and consequently, things exciting – by using all the trackers from my Streakers365 group, participating in the PZPack Power Zone Challenges, the SUMMIIT Challenges (PeloFondo, Climb, and Stride), and the Team Wilpers Run Challenges (as a reminder, Peloton instructor Matt Wilpers also runs a successful coaching business).

No, things don’t get boring around here. There’s an abundance of Peloton – and offshoot – programs and challenges to keep me entertained. I am in my fifth year of completing a 365-day streak, and I am not looking to change this.

If you have questions about the Peloton platform, ask me! I am happy to chat about ALL THINGS PELOTON. If you want me to shut up about Peloton, don’t tell me, because that won’t happen. Haha! Just keep scrolling!

  1. Happy (belated) Peloversary!! Your consistency is so inspiring. I miss my Tread something fierce but am getting back on the bike slowly and so appreciate that I can just find a class and go vs. having to think too hard about what I want to do (which can take up a significant amount of my workout time, haha).

    1. Thank you, Lindsay! And yes, I feel the same way about just picking a class – it makes the decision what to do so much easier! ;)

  2. Happy peloversary! I just had my fifth in July. But we have the same streak – did you have the app first, before getting the bike?

    1. Belated happy Peloversary to you, too! ;) Yes, I used the app for over a year (with a non-Peloton bike) before I finally purchased the bike!

  3. OK, non pelo question for you…going to show my absolute ignorance. I think of it as a bike, good for cycling. But you do strength, yoga, running? Do you pivot the screen another direction for that? How’s it work, practically? (Clearly I could just look this up, but why, when I have you to ask?)

    Congratulations on your streak!

    1. Haha, good questions, Julie! My Peloton does indeed have a swivel screen, so I can turn it to the side when I do strength or yoga classes. Very convenient. I also use the Peloton App a lot (mostly for my runs, but also for other classes when I am away from home).

  4. So great you found something that keeps you entertained and fit – not only physical. If it works don’t change it. And you definitely gotten the worth out of this, right?

  5. Happy Peloversary! I am always so impressed and inspired by your commitment to your Peloton and all the classes it offers. I think YOU are a big reason I ended up with a Peloton and it’s had such a wonderful impact on me as well. I’m coming up to 52 weeks soon…but your 1714 day streak is really amazing. Thank you for sharing!

  6. CONGRATULATIONS! I love your consistency, my friend, despite … everything. <3

So if you see this, I have a question, too. I love seeing your posts about your Sunday meditations and thought that it might be something I could try. (Since, um, meditation isn't a skill I have right now.)

Do you think that the app has helped you get in the right, well, headspace to meditate? Are the guided options helpful? And, are there any free options on the Peloton app that I could try? I ask because I think they used to have them but it seems like a lot of things are behind the paywall now.
