2025 Weekly Run Down 34/52 – Finishing up the Team Wilpers Summer Run Challenge

This week’s stats:

Running: 18 mi
Cycling: 27.7 mi
Walking: 19.57 mi
Strength: 5 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 70 min
Warm up/Stretching: 55 min
Meditation: 80 min

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

We were still in SoCal at the beginning of the week and came back home on Tuesday. Because of my flexible work schedule, I was able to swap my “RDO” (regular day off) to save an extra vacation day, but that meant I had to work on Friday. This also meant a lot of rearranging my workout schedule again in order to finish up the last week of the Team Wilpers Summer Run Challenge and also complete two rides for week 4 of the Power Zone Challenge. But as you can guess, I am nothing but good at pivoting these days!

Monday

  • 10 Min Daily Meditation – Denis (8/17/25)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Anna (1/31/24)

We were still in SoCal and had a bunch of errands to run before leaving town again, so Monday was a rest day.

Tuesday

  • 10 Morning Meditation – Aditi (8/18/25)
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Susie (7/23/25)
  • Team Wilpers Summer Run Challenge 2025 – W8R1 | V02 Max Intervals
    • 30 Min 80s Run – Becs (7/22/25) — PZ-W4Run1
      • 8 min @ Easy Pace
      • 2 Min @ Half Marathon Pace
      • 6 x 1 Min @ V02 Max Pace / 1 Min @ Walk
      • 8 Min @ Easy Pace
  • Extra 10: Listening Party Run – Becs (8/5/25)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Hips – Denis (12/19/23) — Personal Streak

We were heading back home today but I had time in the morning to do my Team Wilpers Run before we left. I somehow messed up the first two (of six) intervals, but managed a nice progression segment before the V02 Max Intervals. I added on an Extra 10 run and one of my favorite focus flows for hips with Denis. It’s bookmarked and you should take it.

Wednesday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Ross (3/16/24)
  • 5 Min Get to Know Me Warm Up Ride – Alex T (3/18/25)
  • 45 Min Power Zone Endurance Ride – Denis (4/9/24) — PZ-W4Ride1
  • 5 Min Cool Down Ride – Jess K (6/17/25)
  • 5 Min Core Strength – Callie (8/6/25) — Streakers Camp
  • 20 Min 80s Walk – Jon (7/29/22)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Kristin (10/26/22)

I was reunited with my Peloton and back on my bike again on Wednesday morning for a 45-minute Power Zone Endurance Ride. I also added a short core class and a 20-minute lunchtime walk to my workout day.

Today also marked my 1700 day streak! I’ve used the Peloton Bike + App consistently since the end of 2020. I don’t think you need any more proof that the platform works for me.

Thursday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Anna (8/26/24)
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Erik (8/3/25)
  • Team Wilpers Summer Run Challenge W8R2 | Over/Under Intervals
    • 30 Min Rock Run – Alex K (8/8/25)
      • 5 Min @ Easy Pace
      • 5 Min @ Marathon Pace
        • 3 x 1 Min @ Threshold Pace/ 1 Min @ Marathon Pace
        • 3 Min @ Easy Pace
        • 4 x 1 Min @ Threshold Pace/ 1 Min @ Marathon Pace
      • 3 Min @ Easy Pace
  • 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Rebecca (5/14/25)
  • 30 Min Summer Strut – Rebecca (6/24/25)

I had another over/under interval run for the Team Wilpers Summer Run Challenge on my training plan in the morning. I also met up (virtually) with #BCBabes Sherry and Kristin for a 30-minute lunchtime walk. Rebecca’s Summer Strut Class was fun. I highly recommend it if a great playlist and lots of little nuggets of wisdom are your thing!

Friday

  • 10 Min Relaxing Meditation – Kristin (1/29/24)
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Hannah F (8/13/25)
  • 45 Min Endurance Run – Becs (2/22/25) — PZ-W4Run2
  • 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Susie (8/20/25)
  • 30 Min Backstreet Boys Walk & Run – Jess K (12/12/24)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Kristin (10/26/22) — Personal Streak

I ran some easy miles before work and took the Backstreet Boys Walk & Run as a lunchtime walk (because Lindsay had recommended it and she was going to see BSB at the Sphere in Las Vegas Friday night! How exciting!).

Saturday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Nico (8/23/25)
  • 10 Min Restorative – Denis (7/11/23) — Personal Streak

Today was an unplanned rest day. I had commitments in the morning and then a bunch of errands to run in the afternoon. I was hoping to fit in a run (on the tread) in the afternoon, but that didn’t happen. Sometimes life gets in the way.

Sunday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Chelsea (7/2/24)
  • 5 Min Warm Up Ride – Denis (8/18/25)
  • 30 Min Power Zone Ride – Matt (11/5/24) — PZ-W4Ride2
  • 5 Min Cool Down Ride – Leanne (6/10/25)

I met up with Tanja this morning to finish week 4 of the Power Zone Pack Challenge. We had a spicy ride on the schedule – intervals in Zones 5 + 6 – but we both actually quite enjoyed it. And doesn’t the graph look pretty?

  • TW Summer Run Challenge W8R3 | 20-minute Distance Test
    • 45 Min 90s Run – Joslyn (4/13/25) — Streakers Camp
      • 10 Min @ Easy Pace
      • 5 Min @ Marathon Pace
      • 3 x 15 sec Striders / 45 sec @ Easy Pace
      • 2 Min Rest
      • 20 Min Distance Test
      • 5 Min Jog @ Easy Pace

Since my running plans were derailed on Saturday, I cranked out two workouts again today. Yeah, yeah, I said I wouldn’t do that again, but it was the last day to finish the 8-week TW Summer Run Challenge.
Every challenge starts and ends with a 20-minute distance test as a measuring stick for how well you executed your training. You run as far (and as fast) as you can for 20 minutes (after proper warm-up) and based on that distance (and pace), you calculate how you compare to the test at the beginning of the challenge. My pace increased by 2%. Not much, but it translates to a 13 sec/mi pace increase. I’ll take it. I wanted to see if I am back to where I was before the craziness of 2025 derailed my training a bit, and I am happy to say I am almost back on track.

I joined for Serenity Sunday again in the afternoon, oh, and I took advantage of having access to a pool and went for a nice evening swim (+ dip in the hot tub). A great end to the weekend!

  • 15 Min 80s Walk – Jon (3/25/25)
  • 10 MIn Stretch for Tennis & Pickle Ball – Olivia (6/30/25) — Camp Retreat
  • 20 Min Restorative – Anna (11/29/21) — Personal Streak/Serenity Sunday
  • 10 Min Body Scan Meditation – Ross (8/24/23) — Serenity Sunday
  • 15 Min Evening Swim

Current Challenges + Trackers:

Yeah, let’s not talk about the Stronger into Summer tracker. I’ve been slacking on my strength workouts. I might have just added too much to my plate in the last few weeks, but I am hoping to add more strength training again this next week.

  1. Yes, I would say Peloton definitely works for you! And, a 13 second increase per mile is great. Better than getting slower, which is what happens if you do no speed work at all.
My hips are longing for that focus flow class! Too bad I don’t have Peloton anymore. Denis was my favorite yoga instructor.

  2. That streak is absolutely incredible, San. All the gold stars for that <3
Especially with everything that has been going on in your life this year. I am so glad you have Peloton and that it brings you so much joy and health!

  3. You are getting it done! Pivoting is a good skill; keep up the consistency :-)

  4. I applaud your daily meditation classes! Looks like the Wilper’s challenge is working well for you! Nice job

  5. 1,700 days in a row! That is so very impressive! You have really gotten your money’s worth out of your peloton and the ap!

I got an extra run in this week since we were on vacation at my parents. And then I got to run 8.25 miles in deliciously cool, dry air yesterday as a cold front moved through! I’m not quite ready for fall weather yet but it was nice to run in cooler temps for a change!

  6. Improvement is improvement! That 1,700 day streak is pretty amazing. It was a very good investment for you and your health!

  7. So amazed with your consistency, your ability to pivot (always – I am ALWAYS amazed by your ability to pivot!), and your resilience. Seriously, go, you. I also love how you are now fitting in lunchtime walks. I’m looking out the slider door at a beautiful day. I believe I need a walk before I call it a very early evening (as I typically do). :) Thanks for the inspiration, on multiple fronts! <3
