This week’s stats:

Meditation: 115 min
I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

Running or Cycling? That was the question that was bothering me this week, but in the end, I decided: why not both? I am right in the middle of the 8-week Team Wilpers Summer Run Challenge and I really wanted to focus more on my running again, but then there is a new Power Zone Challenge starting tomorrow and as so often, I was experiencing major FOMO because, of course, I wanted to join.
Luckily, the PZ Challenges offer (more and more) different options now to accommodate people like me who want to do it all, and so I was able to opt for the 2 rides / 2 runs option again. It allows me to continue my Run Challenge and keep my focus on running, while still incorporating some good, quality workouts on the bike. It’s a win-win situation!
Monday
- 15 Min Morning Meditation – Chelsea (7/1/25)
- 10 Min Focus Flow: Core – Kristin (11/22/23) — Personal Streak
- Extra 10: Legs – Ben (7/8/25) — Extra 10
- 15 Min Morning Mobility – Rebecca (11/23/22) — Summer Fun Self Care
- 20 Min Extra Steps Walk: ˜2000 – Matty (3/23/25)
- 20 Min Sleep Meditation – Kristin (7/19/22)
I only had a short workout stack scheduled for this morning because I had to get to the office a little earlier than usual, so I postponed my run and did a meditation, yoga, leg drills, and some mobility work (<— highly recommend) instead.
I was excited to also join the #BCBabes Lindsay and Sherry for a 20-minute lunchtime walk. We don’t get to work out together as much anymore, ever since we’ve all started new schedules due to job changes, being a first-time mom, and in my case, having to go back to the office full-time, but we still try to coordinate whenever possible.
Tuesday
- 10 Min Daily Meditation – Denis (7/6/25)
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)

I was excited for another V02 Max Speed Play Interval run. Have I mentioned how much I love those? I also met up with Sherry again for a virtual lunchtime walk.

Wednesday
- 15 Min Morning Meditation – Ross (5/31/22)
- 5 Min Warm-Up Ride – Matt (8/19/24)

- 10 Min Focus Flow: For Riders – Kirra (5/27/25) — Personal Streak
- 30 Min 90s Walk – Jon (4/8/25)
In anticipation of the upcoming Power Zone Challenge, I picked an endurance ride to test out my zones. I haven’t tested in quite a while but despite some involuntary workout breaks here and there, I still feel that my zones are pretty accurate. Challenging, but doable.

Thursday
- 10 Min Energizing Meditation – Ross (1/6/24)

- 5 Min Bascis: Garland Pose – Kristin (10/26/22) — Personal Streak
- 30 Min Summer Celebration Walk – Kirsten (7/4/24)
There was another Over/Under interval run on the training plan today. You might get the notion that our coach thinks we need to practice those and the graph seems to suggest that “yes, I do need to practice those!”. Slight changes in pace range (around 20 sec/mi) is not an easy target to dial in (especially outdoors where you have to set your own speed), but I am working on it and I actually enjoy this work.

Friday
- 15 Min Pilates: Express – Emma (7/9/25) — Summer Fun Self Care
- 30 Min Bootcamp – Rad (5/5/25)
- 5 Min Cool Down Ride – Denis (7/15/25)
- 10 Min Focus Flow: For Hips – Denis (12/19/23)
- 10 Min Post-Meal Walk – Susie (3/3/25) — Extra 10
- 15 Min Just Walk: Outdoor
- 10 Min Sleep Meditation – Anna (7/19/25)
After a quick Pilates class this morning (it had been a while), I met up with Tanja and #BCBabe Sherry for another bootcamp. I was about to wholeheartedly recommend this class with Rad until he started a whole sequence of push ups, which made me quickly change my mind. (Note to self: but you really need to work on your push ups!) I finished with a focus flow for hips and even got a nice post-dinner evening walk in with Jon.
Saturday
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
- TW Summer Run Challenge 2025 – W4R3 | Long Run

- 5 Min Cool Down Walk – Marcel M (2/19/25)
- 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Adrian (7/23/25)
- 10 Min Savasana – Kirra (6/26/24)
I slept in late and thought I’d have to suffer through the heat during my run, but to my surprise, temps were still <70F/21C when I left the house at 10:45 am. This is very unusual for a morning in mid-July in California’s Central Valley. Apparently, we’re having the mildest July in two decades, and I am here for it. In fact, I doubled my mileage for today (and added two more 15-minute classes) because it was just too damn nice outside.

Sunday
- 10 Min Morning Meditation – Chelsea (7/24/25)
- 5 Min Warm Up Ride – Matt (10/2/24)
- 45 Min Power Zone Endurance 90s Ride – Matt (6/8/22) — PZ-W1Ride1

- 10 min Body Scan Meditation – Aditi (1/17/23) — Serenity Sunday
I was on the fence if I wanted to join the current “Raiders of the Lost Zone” Power Zone Challenge (officially starting tomorrow!) because I’d been planning to focus more on running again, but since there are different options for the challenges now and you can choose a 2 rides/ 2 runs option, I decided to jump back on the bandwagon. This option allows me to continue the Team Wilpers Run Challenge and keep my focus on running, while still fitting in two PZ rides every week. It seems like a good balance for me right now! I am excited that Tanja was on board with this plan as well, as I am hoping to ride with her as much as possible. We started with a 45-minute Power Zone Endurance Ride today, and I am here to say, it was a fun, but sweaty workout.
Oh, and based on my complaint about the mediocracy of my push-ups, I decided to work on them and started Joslyn’s “Build Up to Push Ups” program on the Peloton Strength+ App. It’s the companion app to the regular Peloton App that focuses on customized, self-paced strength workouts (they’re narrated, but timer-based workouts that don’t have the usual class structure of the regular app content.) I’ll report back at the end of the program.

Current Challenges + Trackers:
I finished most of my trackers early this month, except for my Personal Streak (“daily yoga”) and the Stronger into Summer tracker (which will continue over the next two months). This works out perfectly for July, because I’ll be out of town with work for the rest of this month (aka the next four days) and while I will be doing my yoga, I am not sure how much more exercise I’ll be able to accomplish while I am away.

July 28, 2025 at 6:21 amWell- it’s kind of fun to have too many things you want to do! Nice job fitting it all in. I want to hear more about this pushup program- you’ll have to give us updates.
I think you’re the only one reporting beautiful weather this summer! Everywhere else seems to be hot, humid, or rainy. Enjoy!

July 29, 2025 at 9:01 amSleeping in and barely having time to workout – I call that a win. You are doing great. I laughed at you almost recommending a workout until the push up section hit. Bah ha ha.
