2024 Weekly Run Down 15/52 – Back to the grind!

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

This week’s stats:

Running: 3.4 mi
Cycling: 51.3 mi
HIIT Cardio: 50 min
Bootcamp: 90 min
Strength: 75 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 105  min
Meditation: 15 min

Getting back to your routine after a vacation is hard, but also imperative for me to combat – emotional and physical – jetlag. My legs were sore at the beginning of the week, but it got better again quickly as the week progressed. I had to skip the current Power Zone Challenge (which started on April, 1) because of travel. I am also not following a running plan right now, so I am flying a bit by the seat of my pants but this also allows me to focus on the Streakers365 trackers and do some bookmarked classes that I usually don’t find time for.

  • 10 Min Pilates – Ally (4/6/21) — April Showers Bring Core Flowers/Personal Streak
  • 10 Min HIIT Cardio – Callie (10/2/23) — Spring into Action/Instructor Bingo
  • 20 Min 80s Run – Joslyn (3/10/24) — Instructor Bingo
  • Extra 10: HIIT Run – Kirsten (10/23/23) — Instructor Bingo
  • 10 Min Post-Row Stretch – Ash (2/23/23) — April is All About You

Holy mo, my legs are sore from Sunday’s Bootcamp class. I felt every step of my run this morning. It’s fascinating how switching to different workouts (like skiing) affects your body in different ways. But hey, at least the legs still work.

  • 10 Min HIIT Cardio – Ben (12/18/23) — Spring Into Action
  • 20 Min Pop Pilates – Aditi (4/9/24) —  April Showers Bring Core Flowers/Personal Streak

  • 10 Min Low Impact Ride – Hannah C (1/15/24) — Instructor Bingo
  • 10 Min Hip Mobility – Andy (2/6/24) — April is All About You

I met the #BCBabes this morning to celebrate Melissa’s strength milestone in Aditi’s Pilates class. It’s been so great to work out with friends again and celebrate their accomplishments. I also added in some low impact cycling because my legs are still sore.

  • 20 Min Alternative Yoga Flow – Kirra (11/2/23) — Spring Forward with Yoga/April is All About You/Personal Streak/Instructor Bingo

  • 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Bradley (3/29/24)
  • 45 Min HIIT & Hills Ride – Denis (3/19/24)

I started out with an Alternative Yoga Flow and a HIIT Cardio class. I was supposed to ride with my sister, but she had to postpone until a little later, so I did a quick climb and intervals ride, then worked for an hour and finally finished up with my sister on Denis’ HIIT & Hills Ride. So fun! I like having flexibility in my work day.

  • 10 Min Basics: Tree Pose – Nico (2/22/23) — Spring Forward with Yoga/Personal Streak/Instructor Bingo

I started the day with Olivia’s Core Strength Class and who’s surprised that there were no breaks in the 10-minute class? Not me. I then joined my Peloton friends for the Groove Two for One Ride – it was a #BCBabes Party on the Leaderboard. I also added a few more classes for my trackers to round out the day.

We celebrated Sherry’s milestone class with Jess’ Flash 15 and then the #BCBabes met up for a bootcamp.

  • 10 Min HIIT Cardio – Adrian (2/9/23) — Spring into Action/Instructor Bingo
  • 60 Min R&B Bootcamp – Jess (12/13/21) — Blossom into Bootcamp

  • 5 Min Peace Meditation – Anna (3/27/23) — April is All About You

The #BCBabes talked me into another 60 min bootcamp and Jess Sims was not messing around. It was a tough class, but hey, at least I got a new PR out of it and also hit 9k Peloton minutes on my low-impact ride with Robin. I also enjoyed Kristin’s Yoga Conditioning Core class a lot more than I thought.

  • 10 Min Relaxing Meditation – Ross 4/3/24) — Instructor Bingo

Today I was back on the bike with Tanja again for the first time in a month and I was so excited to see her on the leaderboard. She also was a good sport and joined me for a few more classes I needed for my trackers and to complete my blackout bingo! I ended my week with restorative yoga and a meditation for ‘Serenity Sunday’, organized by one of our Streakers365 members.

Hope you all had a great week! Did you do any workouts that made you sore?

  1. I did an arm workout on Saturday and I thought things were good, but when I was doing yoga on Sunday, planks to updog were soooo challenging. And now it hurts to raise my arms up over my head. LOL.

  2. It always feels great to get back to our routine, even with jet lag. My big workout last week was my paver project…lots of heavy lifting & hauling (as well as deep squatting, LOL).

  3. Getting back on schedule after travel is challenging but I agree, helps with jet lag. Wow you are already at 9K!! Hope to get to 7K this week. Always inspiring!

  4. Welcome home and good job on jumping back into your workout routine!

  5. I did a 50 minute yoga work out yesterday and I can feel my muscles. Not really sore but so so heavy and tired. But I am proud of myself.

As always I am amazed with all the things you manage in a week, a day. Just wow.
