2026 | Weekly Run Down 42/52 – Playing Switcheroo

I played a little Switcheroo with my training sessions this week. Since I was gone all of last weekend and hadn’t planned my 12-mile long run as a high-attitude training run, I postponed it until Monday, but that meant I had to move around some of my other workouts this week as well. I also started the Pump Up the Volume 10 (PUTV10) program with Tanja this week to establish three weekly strength sessions in my routine again.

Monday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W10R4 | Long Run
    • 30 Min Outdoor Run Club – Susie (6/20/26)
    • 60 Min Outdoor Run Club – Becs (10/3/26)
    • 30 Min Outdoor Run Club – Mariana (6/27/26)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Floor Poses – Ross (4/8/21) — Trick or Treat/The Streak

I had Indigenous Peoples’ Day off and plenty of time to get it done. It was a bit of a struggle, though, because I stayed up too late, didn’t sleep well, and felt overall tired. I think it might also be a bit of cumulative training fatigue catching up with me, but I got it done. I picked a yoga flow from a fellow streaker (#behrnecessity) for the Trick or Treat tracker.

Tuesday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W11R3 | Easy Run
    • 30 Min Endurance Run – Becs (8/9/26) — PZ Challenge
    • Extra 10: Endurance – Joslyn (1/18/26)
  • 20 Min Lower Body: W1D1 – JJ (11/27/23) — PUTV10
  • 5 Min Full Body Stretch – JJ (11/9/25) — Focus Tracker
  • Extra 10: Walk – Adrian (7/27/25)
  • 5 Min Savasana – Anna (8/30/23) — The Streak

I didn’t want to follow up my long run immediately with an interval session and decided to switch around some of this week’s training runs to accommodate life, and ended up doing 4 easy miles on the tread, which also left me with enough time for a quick lower body strength session and a full body stretch. I also high-fived a fellow Streaker (#anxietykiller) for the Trick or Treat tracker this morning.

Wednesday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W11R1 | Interval Run
    • 30 Min Tempo Run – Matt (9/23/25) — PZ Challenge
    • 45 Min Tempo Run – Matt (10/2/26)
  • 5 Min Full Body Stretch – Joslyn (8/30/26) — Focus Tracker
  • 10 Min Savasana  – Anna (7/28/21) — The Streak
  • 10 Min World Mental Health Meditation – Kirra (10/10/26)  — Trick or Treat/ No Tricks, All Treats

I did my interval run on the tread in the morning, and it was a fun and entertaining workout. I finished with a quick fully body stretch.

Before bedtime, I did a savasana class and also picked #Rosebud1900’s World Mental Health Meditation with Kirra for the Trick or Treat tracker.

Thursday

  • 10 Min Daily Meditation – Anna (10/4/26) — No Tricks, All Treats
  • 10 Min Morning Yoga Flow – Nico (8/16/26) — The Streak
  • 20 Min Upper Body Strength: W1D2 – Ben (11/27/23) — PUTV10

I gave myself a little break between the interval and tempo runs and only did a meditation, yoga, and an upper body strength workout today. I also high-fived #SeekSoulOnFire for the Trick or Treat tracker this morning.

Friday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W11R2 | Tempo Run
    • 45 Min Pop Run – Jon (10/11/26)
    • 30 Min 2000s Run – Matt (4/30/26) — Trick or Treat
  • 10 Min Savasana – Ross (6/21/21) — The Streak

I was happy to do my tempo run (5 miles at marathon pace) outdoors today because it was my day off and I could work out a little later when it was already light outside. I felt good (I am glad I gave myself a little break on Thursday) and was even able to hold a faster pace for my tempo interval. That felt amazing! I picked two Peloton music runs to keep me entertained; one of them was #NerdyPiglette’s 2000s Run with Matt for the Trick or Treat tracker.

Saturday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W11R4 | Long Run
    • 60 Min Endurance Run – Susie (11/8/25) — PZ Challenge
    • 75 Min 80s Run – Susie (2/21/23)
    • 30 Min 2000s Pop Run – Jon (9/22/26) — Trick or Treat
  • 10 Min Savasana – Ross (6/21/21) — The Streak

I had a 16-mile long run on my training plan today, but I had commitments in the morning and couldn’t fit my run in before the afternoon, at which point it was almost 90F//30C outside. I don’t really do that great in the heat, and so I decided to do something crazy and complete my long run on the treadmill. Yes, you heard me right: 16 miles on the treadmill.

At least I was going to attempt it. I figured I could always stop.

I also did something that I’ve never done before: I decided to watch a show while running. I must say, it did keep me distracted and entertained, and completing the mileage was easier than anticipated. Would I do it again? Yeah, probably. In the end, it wasn’t half as bad as I thought. As we like to say in German: “Kann man machen” (which literally means ‘one can do that’, but figuratively is more like ‘one can do that even if it’s a tad crazy’. Haha.)

I picked #LinZrunz2spin’s Run with Jon for the Trick or Treat tracker.

Sunday

  • 20 Min Full Body Strength: W1D3 – Tunde (11/27/23) — PUTV10
  • 20 Min Power Zone Recovery Ride – Erik (6/18/25)
  • 10 Min Cool Down Ride – Erik (5/27/26)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Denis (5/20/22) — The Streak

I substituted my 30-minute easy run with a PZ Recovery Ride + Cool Down to ride with Tanja and get back on schedule with my training plan. I didn’t skip the important training runs this week (intervals, tempo + long run), but only dropped one of the shorter easy runs, and I think that’s fine. I also wanted to keep my workout short and sweet, because today is Jon’s birthday!

Current Challenges + Trackers:

I took advantage of the “Treat“ option and high-fived a couple of Streakers during their workouts when I saw them working out “live”, instead of choosing a class that they’ve completed.
