2026 | Weekly Run Down 31/52 –  Hello August!

This week, I (almost) finished the Pump Up The Volume 6 program (skipped the lower body class that I will complete this coming week) and week 7 of the Team Wilpers Summer Run Challenge. One more week and this will be done, too! I also finished my three July (Streakers365) trackers. We’re entering another new month – can you believe it?

Monday

  • 20 Min Morning Yoga Flow – Anna (9/25/25) — The Streak
  • 10 Min Low Impact Cardio – Rebecca (12/1/25)
  • 15 Min Classic Rock Walk – Jon (12/4/25)

Today was an active rest day. I did some morning yoga (really nice flow with Anna!) and a 10-minute low-impact cardio class. I also went for a walk during my lunch break.

Tuesday

  • 10 Min Daily Meditation – Denis (7/19/26)
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • TW Summer Run Challenge W7R1 | Endurance Run + Striders
    • 45 Min Outdoor Run Club – Alex K (10/4/25)
  • 5 Min Boxing Stretch – JJ (8/25/22) — Star-Spangled Self Care
  • 10 Min  Savasana – Anna (1/31/24) — The Streak

I saw Tanja’s Doppelgänger on my run again this morning. I smiled at her brightly and she probably thought I was one of those obnoxiously happy „morning persons“ before 7 am, but she smiled back at me nonetheless and we wished each other a good morning ;)

What a great start to my day. Next time, I am going to stop and tell her that she’s my best friend’s lookalike.

Wednesday

  • 10 Min Relaxing Meditation – Anna (7/28/26)
  • 20 Min Upper Body Strength: W3D2 – Rad (4/17/23) — PUTV6
  • 10 Min Focus Flow:  Shoulders – Chelsea (4/26/26) — The Streak

I had a doctor’s appointment in the morning, so I had to leave earlier than usual. I still had time for my 20-minute upper body Pump Up The Volume class and a quick yoga flow for shoulders. That was a wise choice after the upper body strength class.

Thursday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • TW Summer Run Challenge W7R2 | V02 Max Run
    • 45 Min Pop Run – Becs (3/17/26)
    • 10 Min Cool Down Run – Adrian (6/30/26)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Denis (4/9/24) — The Streak

I think one of my running friends in the Team Wilpers group jinxed it last week when she “complained about the 3-minute V02 Max intervals” and threatened that she would have to talk to the manager if we got 4-minute V02 Max intervals this week. Well, well, the manager must have heard that because we got what we asked for… two 3-minute and two 4-minute V02 Max intervals. But we show up and execute, ha!

Friday

  • 20 Min Calming Meditation – Anna (2/15/22)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Kristin (10/26/22) — The Streak

I was running errands most of the day and couldn’t muster any energy for a real workout in the afternoon. Oh well. Postponed!

Saturday

  • 20 Min Restorative – Anna (12/22/23) — The Streak

Another rest day. Had some heartburn today, and didn’t feel like doing anything. But I still got my (restorative) yoga class done for my daily streak tracker.

Sunday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • TW Summer Run Challenge W7R3 | Endurance Run
    • 45 Min Outdoor Run Club – Susie (4/19/25)
  • 30 Min Full Body Strength: W4D3 – Ben (4/17/23) — PUTV6
  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Ben (6/4/26)
  • 20 Min Restorative – Kristin (5/2/23) — Serenity Sunday/The Streak
  • 10 Min Calming Meditation – Ross (1/9/24)

I headed out at 8 am to complete my endurance run for the Team Wilpers Challenge. It was still nice and cool out (mid-60s), and I am glad I got this done before the daytime high hit the triple digits. I got home just in time to meet up with Tanja for the full body strength class for PUTV6.

I also joined the Streakers once again for Serenity Sunday – yoga and meditation – in the afternoon.

  1. It’s funny, because I did take an unexpected rest day this week! Like you, I had a bunch of errands and some annoying house stuff to take care of, and the day just slipped away. Oh well- our bodies probably appreciated a little rest.
Maybe Tanja’s Doppelganger will become a new friend for you!

  2. Another solid week! Lions like you timed your Sunday run with perfection and missed the heat :-)

  3. Looks like a solid well rounded week for you! I should try that shoulder yoga mine get tight for sure w all the strength. Sounds like you have some winning weather as well to enjoy

  4. I love seeing your trackers all filled out! I didn’t do any last month, but I’ve gotten started on some of the August ones.

  5. I’m not taking rest days exactly, but i’ve got back to back to back overnight bookings so my mileage has dropped a little as I navigate that schedule.

Great week for you! You’re on top of those challenges and it sounds like your weather is phenomenal! I wish we could get some of that over here!

  6. I’ve not taken an unexpected rest day this week – but my guess is with all of our driving to colleges to drop kids off, my workouts will not be normal. I hope you get to meet the Tanja lookalike. My mom spotted a man at our parish church when I was in high school. He looked just like her father, who had just passed away at age of 76. Mom eventually introduced herself to him and explained how she did a double take every time she saw him. From then on, he always made a point of coming over to give her a hug. So sweet.
