Hooray, today was Global Running Day again. And I ran for the first time in 3 weeks. Just three easy miles.
Did you know that for the longest time, I didn’t call myself a runner? I was comparing myself to other people and felt like I hadn’t earned that title, but I am smarter now. And I am here to remind you that if you run, you’re a runner. It doesn’t matter how slow or how often or how far your run. It doesn’t matter if today is your first day or if you’ve been running for years. There’s no test to pass, no license to earn, no membership card to get. If you set one foot in front of the other, if you’re moving your body, you’re a runner.
Today was a good excuse and a perfect opportunity to prove that by going out for a fun run. Not a „scheduled workout“, not a run with a „pace target“… just some easy miles at a feel-good pace enjoying the early morning fresh air.
The running community is amazing as is, but it’s something special to go for a run and know that millions of other runners are also getting out there, dedicating miles to this event, and coming together as a community that some might not even realize they’re a part of.

If you haven’t heard the official description:
Global Running Day is a worldwide celebration of running that encourages people of all ages and abilities to get moving. This day plays an important role, reminding us of the positives that running can offer to our physical and mental health and the power of unification. Let’s run together on Global Running Day to celebrate our love of running and take strides toward healthier and more active lives.
And just for the fun of it, and because you know I love it. Here are some badges I earned for my run today.

Did you move today?

June 6, 2026 at 4:19 amYeah I bet that felt good – for you – to back in your running shoes.
As long as I can remember I have hated running anything of 200 meters. Ive always been the sprinter not the long distance girl.
However I seriously contemplating signing up for a 10k race next may in order to push myself and get some better cardio. It is ridiculous what my score says. Not sure I want to. So much out of my comfort zone.
