2025 Weekly Run Down 31/52 – Out of Town and Raiders of the Lost Zone PZ Challenge

This week’s stats:

Running: 11 mi
Cycling:  9.2 mi
Walking: 17.9 mi
Strength: 10 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 80 min
Warm up/Stretching: 25 min
Meditation: 90 min

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

I joined the “Raiders of the Lost Zone” Power Zone Challenge (which officially started this week) and opted for the 2 rides/ 2 runs option. It allows me to continue the Team Wilpers Run Challenge and keep my focus on running, while still fitting in two PZ rides every week. It seems like a good balance for me right now!

I completed the first ride last Sunday because I was out of town this week and needed to get a head start. I was able to run on Monday and then had four very low-key workout days (as in, meditation and 10 minutes of yoga. That was it.) Regular training picked up again on Saturday.

Monday

  • 10 Min Gratitude Meditation – Nico (5/2/25)
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • Team Wilpers Summer Run Challenge 2025 – W5R1 | V02 Max Speed Play 30-60-90
    • 30 Min 2000s Run – Hannah F (7/12/25) –PZ-W1Run1
      • 8 min @ Easy Pace
      • 2 Min @ Halfmarathon Pace
      • 2 x 15 sec striders @ V02 Max Pace / 45 sec @ Easy Pace
      • 2 Min Rest
      • Main Set (9 min)
        • 30 sec @ V02 Max Pace / 30 sec @ Walk
        • 60 sec @ V02 Max Pace / 60 sec @ Walk
        • 90 sec @ V02 Max Pace / 90 sec @ Walk
        • 60 sec @ V02 Max Pace / 60 sec @ Walk
        • 30 sec @ V02 Max Pace / 30 sec @ Walk
      • 7 Min @ Easy Pace
  • 5 Min Cool Down Walk – Matt (7/21/25)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Ross (6/21/21) — Personal Streak

I didn’t leave for my work trip until later in the morning, so I was able to get my scheduled intervals run completed in the morning: 30-60-90 seconds speed play. Doesn’t that look like fun? Or chaos, depending on how you look at it.

Tuesday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Ross (1/20/24)
  • 10 Min Standing Yoga – Denis (6/11/21) — Personal Streak
  • 10 Min Sleep Meditation – Kristin (9/28/22)

I was out of town conducting fieldwork this week, which always means early mornings and long evenings and not much time to fit in workouts. A morning meditation and a standing yoga session were all I could fit into my days.

Wednesday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Denis (5/9/25)
  • 10 Min Standing Yoga – Mariana (10/7/21) — Personal Streak

Thursday

  • 10 Min Daily Meditation – Chelsea (7/27/25)
  • 10 Min Standing Yoga – Kirra (6/3/21) — Personal Streak

Friday

  • 15 Min Morning Meditation – Aditi (7/29/25)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Kristin (4/22/21) — Personal Streak

I had the best intentions of returning to my workout schedule today, but I was tired from a long week and decided that sleeping in and resting were more important today.

Saturday

  • 10 Min Peace Meditation – Anna (5/7/24)
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • TW Summer Run Challenge W5R2 | Over/Under Intervals
    • 30 Min Outdoor Run Club – Jon (6/7/25) — Streakers Camp
      • 5 Min @ Easy Pace
      • 5 Min @ Marathon Pace
      • 3x 1 Min @ Threshold Pace/ 1 Min Marathon Pace
      • 3 Min @ Easy Pace
      • 4 x 1 Min @ Threshold Pace/ 1 Min Marathon Pace
      • 3 Min @ Easy Pace
  • TW Summer Run Challenge 2025 – W5R3 | Long Run
    • 45 Min Endurance Run – Matt (7/1/25) — PZ-W1Run2
      • 5 Min @ Easy Pace (low end/30 sec slower)
      • 15 Min @ Easy Pace (middle/15 sec slower)
      • 15 Min @ Easy Pace (upper end)
      • 10 Min @ Marathon Pace
  • 5 Min Cool Down Walk – Jon (4/29/25)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners  – Denis (4/9/24) — Personal Streak/Camp Retreat

I did something today that every coach will advise against: I doubled up on workouts that were supposed to happen spaced out during the week. Well, sometimes life gets in the way, but I still wanted to “complete” my training for this week, and since I wanted to extend distance on my weekly long runs anyway, I decided to do the Over/Under Intervals and Long Run back-to-back for a total of 8 miles. It worked out pretty well, but generally I’d say: don’t repeat this at home, peeps!

Sunday

  • 10 Min Peace Meditation – Ross (12/10/23)
  • 5 Min Warm Up Ride – Olivia (9/2/24)
  • 30 Min Power Zone Endurance Classic Rock Ride – Denis (6/28/25) — PZ-W1Ride2
  • 10 Min Build Up to Push Ups: Week 1 Day 2 – Joslyn
  • 20 Min Restorative – Aditi (12/10/21) — Serenity Sunday/Personal Streak
  • 10 Min Relaxing Meditation – Kristin (3/7/2021) — Serenity Sunday

I met up with Tanja this morning for week 1, ride 2 of the PZ Challenge, and I highly recommend this Power Zone Endurance class with Denis (Morton). He was in such an excellent mood, and the playlist was awesome. I also did Day 2 of the Build Up to Push Ups Challenge and later joined my Streakers365 friends for Serenity Sunday.

Current Challenges + Trackers

I finished all of my trackers for July and picked three new ones for August: the Streakers Camp, Camp Retreat Self Care, and I’ll be continuing my Daily Yoga Streak and the Stronger into Summer tracker (which runs over three months). There are a couple more trackers I have my eye on (bootcamp and core), but I am trying not to be realistic. It’s a struggle, ha.

Did you have a normal workout week? Have you ever doubled up on a workout?

  1. Ha, yes it’s probably not usually good to combine two workouts together- but sounds like it worked out just fine. You really hit it hard before and after your work trip! Sounds like a good week overall. Hopefully you’ll be home now for a while and can enjoy your normal routine.

  2. I did not have a normal week of workouts… I do far less in a week than you do but last week was especially light. I had actually debated doing a workout last Monday morning since I WFH but that was my colonoscopy prep day and ultimately I decided since I would struggle to consume calories, it was best to not work out and it was the right decision. Then Tuesday I had my colonoscopy so obv did not do anything since it wore me out! I adjusted my days in the office so I could run on Thur and then did my long run on Saturday and then just a walk on Sunday as my readiness score on my oura ring was very low. So it was kind of an off week but I’ll get back on track this week.

Double workouts are TOUGH I remember when I used to do the 30 workouts in 30 days challenge, I could sometimes do double workouts to get a rest day, but that usually looked like running in the am and doing ST after work. Boy do I miss having that kind of energy… and time to devote to working out… Obviously it was a great trade off to have children, I just wish there were more hours in the day or that my sleep needs were far lower.

  3. Looks like you are in a good routine balancing riding and running. It is hard to fit it all in!! Have a fab week ahead!

  4. My body probably wouldn’t agree with a double running workout these days! But years ago I could handle it. I’m glad it all worked out for you. There is a certain feeling of accomplishment checking all of the boxes!

  5. I’m a bit behind on reading blogs but I did chuckle about at your double workout because on Thursday I hadn’t done my interval run and I decided to do a run before strength at the gym – my gym buddy choses the muscle group and I didn’t realize he had planned a leg session… I would not recommend running followed by leg strength! Although it’s definitely not the same as stacking two runs together… especially two complex ones. I’m sure it’s good to push every once in a while though if not all the time, and well done on getting all your workouts in. Even your days of Yoga and Meditation must be so balancing.
