2025 Weekly Run Down 13/52 – Another (try at a) Power Zone Challenge

This week’s stats:

Running: 5 mi
Walking: 1.3 mi
Cycling: 41.5 mi
Strength: 10 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 135 min
Warm up/Stretching/Mobility: 110 min
Meditation: 155 min

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

This week, Tanja and I start on another Power Zone Challenge, Saturday Night Zones. After having to drop out of the last challenge in January because of illness and traveling, I am excited to join again and hope I can finish this time! I am so excited to tackle another challenge with Tanja. We won’t be able to do all the rides together because of the time difference but we’re hoping to do one or two rides together per week. We chose the “Time Crunch” option, which means there are three rides – 30, 30, and 45 minutes – and another 30 minute class of your choice (probably a run for me!) each week. Since I am trying to also get back into running and squeeze in some other classes, this seemed to be the most doable option .

Monday

  • 10 Min Focus Mediaton – Anna (3/7/25)
  • 20 Min Morning Mobility – Matty (2/12/25) — Bounce into Spring/ Mobility in March
  • 20 Min St. Patrick’s Day Yoga Flow – Kristin (3/17/24) — Personal Streak
  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Ally (3/25/24) — Time-Out for Self-Care

I started this week with mobility work (I loved Matty’s Morning Mobility Class – highly recommend) and a St. Patrick’s Day yoga flow with Kristin. I really miss her as an instructor and hope we’ll have access to her old classes for a long time.

Tuesday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Chelsea (3/6/25)
  • 15 Min Morning Yoga Flow – Chelsea (10/3/24) — Personal Streak

  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Adrian (3/16/25)
  • 15 Min Sleep Meditation – Ross (1/3/21)

Today I started with Week 1, Ride 1 of the Power Zone Challenge. I am super glad I did the SUMMIIT Climb the other week. It was a great preparation to get used to higher output again and I was able to hold the 6-minute Zone 3 intervals today.

  • 10 Min Arms & Shoulders Strength – Logan (2/16/25) — Bounce into Spring

I put together a fine little stack of strength and mobility work for today and also threw in a quick, 20-minute Pop Punk Ride with Bradley. He always makes me smile and that’s a good start to any day!

  • 10 Min Hip Mobility – Selena (8/6/24) — Mobility in March/Bounce into Spring

I was tired this morning when I got up and almost skipped the Week 1, Ride 2 Power Zone Endurance Ride that I had scheduled, but discipline won and I am so glad I completed it today. The best way to deal with tiredness or low motivation is to just simply stick to the plan that you’ve made for yourself. If it’s on the calendar, it will get done. Works 98% of the time for me. I also saw Rachel on the LB again. Yay!

Friday

  • 20 Min Restorative Yoga – Denis (7/18/21) — Personal Streak
  • 30 Min Sleep Meditation – Kristin (4/10/24)

Lately, Fridays seem to turn into my unplanned rest days of the week. I make workout plans and then opt for sleep and catch up with a bit of yoga and meditation. Oh well. Listen to your body, amirite?

Saturday

  • 10 Min Peace Meditation – Kristin (2/7/24)
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – JJ (3/19/25)
  • 30 Min 80s Run – Susie (3/9/25) — W1AR
  • 15 Min Rock Run – Andy (3/11/25)
  • 20 Min 90s Walk – Robin (7/20/23) — Bounce into Spring
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Denis (4/10/23) — Personal Streak
  • 5 Min Neck Mobility – Erik (8/20/24) — Mobility in March
  • 20 Min Sleep Meditation – Ross (4/11/22)

I finally got outside for a run today. The weather was pleasant – mid-60s and sunny – and it was great to be outside and move my body. It really does help me get out of my head (or at least, work through some stuff).

Sunday

  • 10 Min Acceptance Meditation – Ross (5/25/24)
  • 5 Min Warm Up Ride – Matt (12/20/22)
  • 45 Min Power Zone Ride – Matt (11/12/24) — W1R3

  • 20 Min Sleep Meditation – Kirra (11/24/24)

I completed Week 1 of the Saturday Night Zones Power Zone Challenge today and I was so happy I could finish out the week with Tanja. It’s always better to ride with friends! I also joined some of my Streakers365 friends for Serenity Sunday in the afternoon.

  1. I suspect that by Friday, your brain and body are just, well, fried. Seems like a good choice for a rest day! So glad to see that you got to ride and meditate with friends – that always makes it better! I should mimic your Serenity Sunday approach… maybe that will finally get me into yoga, meditation, and stretching?

  2. I am all for at least one rest day with a little stretch or mobility. I need to get those mobility classes back in the rotation! Good luck with your new power ones challenge.

  3. The best way to deal with being tired is to stick to the plan. Words to live by.

  4. That is so fun that you’re getting to link up with Rachel! It must be such a little jolt of joy and extra motivation to stick with the ride <3

  5. What you said about the best cure for lack of motivation ( just follow the plan and do it anyways …I’m paraphrasing, LOL) is so spot-on! My Fridays have been morphing into recovery days too. I guess that’s because my body needs it.

  6. I know how you love a challenge! This sounds like a fun one. And, the run on Saturday sounds amazing. Mid 60s and sunny is perfect.

  7. I did that pop punk ride with Bradley too this week and it was really fun – I’m sure I saw that you had done it. I hadn’t done a Ross Raburn stretch before and I’m so glad I joined you as it was great, I’ll definitely be doing more. And I love the sound of “serenity sunday” – I will have to try and do that sometime as well. IT’s so inspiring to see your rundowns, thank you for sharing :-)
