30: NaBloPoMo 2024 Wrap Up + a Giveaway

And here we are again… at the end of November and the end of NaBloPoMo. I am always a little surprised when we finally make it to the last day of the month, but friends, we made it. YOU made it. I’ve been so thrilled that so many people followed my invitation to come along for this crazy NaBloPoMo ride – lots of familiar faces but also some new people again! Our NaBloPoMo community grew a little bit again from last year with 32 participants! Once again I was blown away by your consistency and great post topics this month. You all outdid yourselves.

I was a little bit unprepared this year because of all the things I had going on in October, but I ended up making it through the month just fine, sometimes squeezing in my blog post just before midnight, but hey, whatever works. I also worked really hard the last few days to catch up on as many posts as I could.

A big shoutout to everyone who didn’t officially participate but who supported us all with thoughtful comments and encouragement! You’re a big and essential part of our blog community and hopefully, you had some fun having your RSS reader or inbox fill up with extra posts this month!

A little giveaway

As last year, I am hosting a little giveaway again. How could I not? I’ll be sending a gift card (Starbucks or Amazon, your choice) to one of this year’s participants. You have time to comment until December, 5th  and I will use a random number generator to select the winner.

Just tell me in the comments: what was your favorite thing about NaBloPoMo this year?

  1. What was my favorite thing… Probably the feeling of having that one small daily task to write something and put it into the universe. I really did not want to break the chain. Some posts were long, others-really short, but is all worked out at the end. And I wasn’t going to participate and signed up in October 31, a day before the start! Happy I did.

  2. Congrats San, on another NaBloPoMo! I didn’t participate so I am not going to take a blogging break, it will be business as usual over here!

  3. Thank so much San, our fearless leader, for organizing the NaBloPoMo group again this year and for organizing the gift exchange. I had to stop a few days shy of completing the month last year because our lawyer told me to get off of social media during out lawsuit. I’m glad I accomplished it this time around. My favorite thing is the same as last year – I so enjoyed meeting other bloggers and discovering new-to-me blogs. So much fun! I’ll be back to Mon/Thurs posts this week. which seems so easy-breezy after a month of posting. ;)

  4. I absolutely loved this, the writing, the posting, the commenting on posts, and most especially, finding so many new people and blogs to follow and read along with. I know for me I feel like I’ve found a great little community here, so want to say a really BIG thank you to you, San, for hosting and organising this. I am really thankful to have stumble on your blog, and being a part of this.

And a big BIG thank you to everyone who stopped by my blog, and commented on what was a really busy month for everyone.

  5. Many thanks for fostering this vibrant blogging community and for letting me tag along in the comments! Best wishes for a restful holiday and einen guten Rutsch!

  6. Thank you so much San, for keeping the NaBloPoMo tradition alive and well!

My favorite things were meeting new folks, and that a blog friend of mine from long ago (KarenMeg) dusted off her blog and participated this year! It was a delightful surprise to see her pop up.

  7. Thank you San for being the CEO of the NaBloPoMo experience and a special shout-out to Tobia for being our official and lovely cheerleader!

My favorite part of the experience, I must say, has been the community feel. I mean, I write long blog posts all the time, but it has been feeling lonely these past couple of years. I made an effort to read, comment and like as much as possible, and I am happy with that as well.

I give you and everyone (including myself) a GOLD STAR today.

  8. My favorite things… The new faces and therefore new blogs to explore and also new people on my blog. And of course all my friends reading my posts and commenting. I guess in one word: community.

Thank you again for hosting and keeping this challenge alive through the dry years.

  9. I loved getting to know so many new online faces. Keeping up this year was hard with family visiting so I think I may spend the next few days catching up with the last few days of blog posts from everyone.

  10. Congratulations, San, and enjoy your well-earned break! You have done an amazing job year after year after year, and you’re an inspiration to us all. :)
I loved reading the posts, and even missing posts, because it means that I now have many to catch up on (and fill the days when you all are not posting as much as you were…:>) Hugs, my friend. Go get some well-deserved rest.

  11. I can’t even tell you how happy I am that I found you last year. I have done NaBloPoMo every year since I started blogging, and it was always satisfying but often it was just me, and I felt bad for my poor regular commenters trying to come up with a new thing to say to be encouraging every day lol. My favourite thing has been the sense of community, the posts echoing other people’s posts, going to catch up on someone’s blog and having a nice long number of posts to read on a break… in past years I have liked the project but felt pressured or discourages. This year it was just purely enjoyable.

  12. This was such a fun month. It was the kick-in-the-pants I needed to post more consistently. It was hard to keep up with everyone’s posts, even with Feedly, so I think I’ll join some of the others above in catching up over the next few days.

  13. There were so many things I loved about it! I loved that some of my favorite bloggers who usually don’t post every day, participated (so I got to read them more!) If I had to pick one favorite thing, I would say that I got a chance to reconnect with some bloggers who I know from previous NaBloPoMos but haven’t kept up with during the rest of the year. Thank you once again for making it all possible!!!

  14. Thank you! What a great NaBloPoMo (I think there was something extra special about this year). I’ll admit my favourite thing was that I didn’t post every day. Taking Sunday’s off felt like a big step for me mentally and I’m proud of doing it! I tend to really want to complete a loop/streak.

  15. I feel like the spirit of NaBloPoMo was real this year. People would just post a photo and that would be their entire post because that’s how it goes when people get busy in their lives and I felt like that took off a lot of pressure to write a super well-crafted post every single day. (Also, don’t put me in the giveaway. I won last year and you should spread the love around!)

  16. Thank you for hosting again, San. It is due to you and the community you’ve built up that I have managed to consistently blog these last few years. My favourite thing was the new to me blogs this year.

  17. Congrats on making it through this challenge again! I have yet to do it and don’t know that I ever will – maybe when I’m retired, but will we still blog? Will NaBloPoMo still be a thing? My favorite part was reading all of the interesting and entertaining posts!
