2024 Weekly Run Down 41/52 – Travel Week and 42/52 – Moving Week

This week’s stats:

Running:  37.3 mi
Strength: 60 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 80 min
Warm-up/Stretching: 50 min
Meditation: 15 min

I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.

You’re getting a two-for-one deal this week. I am catching up on two weeks today because I missed last week’s Run Down. I had a pretty busy week the week before last because I was traveling for work. I was excited to go to Denver for training, but it also meant I had to rearrange my training plan a little bit to fit my schedule. It all worked out though.

Monday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 58 Min Easy Run + Strides
    • 10 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
    • 45 Min Tempo Run – Becs (6/5/19) — Road to 26.2
    • 5 Min Cool Down Run – Matt (5/23/24)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Pigeon Pose – Chelsea (8/3/22) — Personal Streak/Ghouls Just Wanna Have Self Love

Mondays are usually my rest days but I had my coach switch my days around to accommodate my work travel, so I did my easy run in the morning.

Tuesday

  • 15 Min Courage Meditation – Ross (6/8/24)
  • 20 Min EDM Yoga Flow – Kristin (8/9/22) — Personal Streak/Candy Hunt
  • 10 Min Spinal Mobility – Andy (2/7/23) — Ghouls Just Wanna Have Self Love

I took my rest day today because I wasn’t sure how much time I would have to work out. I did fit in some meditation, yoga, and mobility work before heading to my training for the day.

Wednesday

  • 5 Min Full Body Strength Warm Up – Jess (8/6/24)
  • 30 Min Strength for Runners – Rebecca (8/26/22) — Road to 26.2
  • 15 Min Pop Walk – Jon (9/3/24)

I had some time in the morning before training and took advantage of the hotel gym and did some strength training and treadmill walking.

Thursday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • Hill Repeats
    • 10 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Becs (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
    • 45 Min Marathon Race Prep – Matt (6/5/19) — Road to 26.2
    • 5 Min Cool Down Run – Matt (5/23/24)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Hips – Denis (12/19/23) — Personal Streak

My return flight home was a little later in the day, so I had time in the morning and did my hill repeats on the treadmill at the hotel gym. I forgot my Garmin at home, which was a bummer, but I wouldn’t have been able to get many stats from it anyway. (I need to figure out how to get better stats on the treadmill. Garmin used to make a foot pod that you could attach to your shoe, but I think it’s been discontinued.)

Friday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 55 Min Easy Run
    • 15 Min Pop Punk Run – Matt (10/11/23) — Candy Hunt
    • 30 Min Endurance Run – Matt (10/3/24)
    • 10 Min Cool Down Run – Matt (9/16/24)
  • 30 Min Strength for Runners – Andy (8/26/22) — Road to 26.2
  • 5 Min Lower Body Stretch – Rebecca (6/19/24)
  • 10 Min Restorative Yoga – Denis (11/12/21) — Personal Streak

I ran some easy miles in the morning and also completed a strength for runners class. I am trying not to skip those because I know that they’re good for me.

Saturday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 12-Mile Run
    • 30 Min Pop Run – Rebecca (5/6/22) — Road to 26.2
    • 30 Min Disco Run – Joslyn (1/22/23) — Candy Hunt
    • 30 Min Oldies But Goodies Run – Jon (10/8/24)
    • 30 Min 90s Rock Run – Susie (10/7/24)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Nico (6/4/24) — Personal Streak

We got the keys to our new home on Saturday and had planned to take as much stuff as possible to the new place in our car over the weekend. The movers were scheduled for Monday. Luckily, I had only 12 miles on the training calendar this week because it was a mini-pull-back week and could focus on the move for the rest of the day.

Sunday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 75 Min Easy Run
    • 10 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
    • 45 Min Tempo Run – Becs (6/5/19) — Road to 26.2
    • 20 Min Motown Run – Joslyn (4/2/24) — Candy Hunt
  • 5 Min Post Run Stretch – Susie (10/9/24) — Ghouls Just Wanna Have Self-Love
  • 20 Min Restorative Yoga – Denis (2/15/21) — Personal Streak/Serenity Sunday

I got up early, completed my easy miles, and then went into full packing mode for the rest of the day. I only took a break to participate in the restorative yoga class for Serenity Sunday (20 minutes of being still felt so good).

Weekly Run Down 42/52 – Moving Week

This week’s stats:

Running: 33.4 mi
Cycling: 64.4 mi
Strength: 60 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 75 min
Warm-up/Stretching: 35 min
Meditation: 10 min

This week was super-busy because we moved to a new home. I wasn’t sure if I could keep up with my regular schedule because the moving days were long and tiring, but I tweaked my training plan a little bit again and made it work somehow. I definitely learned what it means to run on ‘tired legs’ this week!

Monday

  • 10 Min Seasonal Meditation – Chelsea (10/6/21) — Ghouls Just Wanna Have Self Love

Today was moving day and all I had time for was a meditation when I got up at 7 a.m. and then I was on the go-go-go for the next 17 hours. Uff. It was supposed to be my rest day but I hit 17,000+ steps that day.

Tuesday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 58 Min Easy Run + Strides
    • 30 Min Endurance Run – Matt (5/22/24)
    • 30 Min Halloween Run – Matty (10/28/20) — Candy Hunt
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Mariana (9/22/24) — Personal Streak

I slept like a rock last night and I honestly felt like I had been run over by a truck when I went out for my easy run this morning. Moving (homes) is so exhausting (not just physically but also emotionally). I did feel better after the first couple of miles.

Wednesday

  • 30 Min Rock Ride – Denis (10/5/24)
  • 30 Min Strength for Runners – Rebecca (8/26/22) — Road to 26.2
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: Floor Poses – Kirra (9/3/24) — Personal Streak

I met up with my sister for a Denis Rock Ride in the morning and also did some strength training for runners.

Thursday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 55 Min Tempo Run
    • 10 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Becs (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
    • 45 Min Marathon Race Prep Run – Matt (6/5/19) — Road to 26.2
  • 10 Min Restorative Yoga – Chelsea (2/28/24) — Personal Streak

I opted for a treadmill run this morning. We have a small community gym, which is around the corner from our new home, and it’s nice to have access to a treadmill there (especially now that the days are getting shorter).

Friday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
  • 55 Min Easy Run
    • 30 Min Big Freedia Run – Adrian (6/18/21) — Candy Hunt
    • 15 Min 80s Rock Run – Jon (11/20/23)
    • Extra 10: Endurance – Matt (5/6/24)
  • 30 Min Strength for Runners – Andy (8/26/22) — Road to 26.2
  • 10 Min Yin Yoga: Ankles & Feet – Aditi (2/29/24) — Ghouls Just Wanna Have Self Love/Personal Streak

It was crazy windy today when I headed out for my run. I guess, running against headwinds is now part of my training. I also did a 30-minute strength for runners class and I just love the mobility and balancing exercises.

Saturday

  • 30 Min Black Eyed Peas Ride – Cody (9/27/24) — PeloFondo
  • 16-miles with GMP (Goal Marathon Pace)
    • 10 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Robin (6/5/19) — Road to 26.2
    • 30 Min Hip Hop Run – Marcel (12/3/21) — Road to 26.2
    • 30 Min Rock Run – Becs (10/18/24)
    • 60 Min Rock Run – Susie (8/24/24)
    • 20 Min Rock Run – Becs (4/30/24)
  • 10 Min Evening Stretch – Matty (9/19/24) — Ghouls Just Wanna Have Self Love
  • 15 Min Restorative Yoga – Denis (9/22/21) — Personal Streak – 700th yoga class!

PeloFondo Weekend is here! But it was also long run Saturday and I had 16 miles (including 3 x 3 miles at GMP) on the schedule. Have I also mentioned that I was tired from this week? I opted to sleep in a little, hopped on a ride with Lindsay for PeloFondo which I used as a warm-up, and then headed out for my run around 11 a.m. The run went fine, I was able to execute, but I will admit that I was wiped afterward and took a nap in the afternoon. I also didn’t feel like I had it in me to get any more miles on the bike, so I postponed until Sunday.

Oh, but I did hit my 700th yoga class when I did some restorative yoga before bed. Woot!

Sunday

  • 20 Min Pop Punk Ride – Bradley (7/16/24) — PeloFondo
  • 30 Min Halloween Ride – CDE (10/31/23) — PeloFondo
  • 30 Min Rock Ride – Denis (1019/24) — PeloFondo
  • 30 Min Boss Ride – Ally (10/20/24) — PeloFondo
  • 30 Country Pop Ride – Bradley (10/12/24) — PeloFondo
  • 5 Min Pre-Ride Warm Up Stretch – Bradley (8/14/24) — PeloFondo
  • 20 Min Alternative Rock Ride – Hannah C (10/4/24) — PeloFondo
  • 20 Min Power Zone Max Ride – Matt (12/5/19) — PeloFondo
  • 15 Min Hip Hop Ride – Leanne (7/14/24) — PeloFondo
  • 5 Min Lower Body Stretch – Andy (10/15/24) — PeloFondo
  • 20 Min Restorative Yoga – Aditi (4/14/22) — Serenity Sunday/Personal Streak

If you’ve been around here, you might remember that I used to do Peloton Bingo Cards every week (unfortunately, the app that provided the Bingo cards was discontinued for iOS). Well, Sherry came up with this amazing Halloween-themed Bingo card (see below) for PeloFondo and I was all over it. I didn’t think I’d be able to get a blackout, but with some careful class picking (and double-dipping), I did end up marking off all squares AND hit my 50-mile goal. (I did skip my easy run today because that would have been overkill. I am sure you agree. And yes, I realize that it’s a little crazy to add this 50-mile goal on top of marathon training this weekend.)

But I was so happy that I got to ride with Tanja and the #BCBabes today, and I even got my sister to pledge some miles for our Streakers365 team again.

Current Challenges + Trackers:

Peloton Road to 26.2 Program
Streaker365 Candy Hunt
Streaker365 Ghouls Just Wanna Have Self Love
Streaker365 October Personal Streak (Daily Yoga/Pilates/Barre)
