This week’s stats:
Running: 36.3 mi
Cycling: 13.2 mi
Bootcamp: 30 min
Strength: 60 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 90 min
Warm up/Stretching: 45 min
Meditation: 20 min
I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.
This week, there was no mileage increase but another opportunity to “practice” 15 miles on my long run. I felt a little bit more prepared than last week and think I hydrated and fueled appropriately (before and during the run). I am trying to stick to my plan and I am so happy I’ve been able to follow and execute all the workouts again this week. I sprinkled in quite a few focus flows with Denis (and I think I’ll keep doing them because they’re really great! Just sayin’!) and I’ve enjoyed the strength classes for runners with Andy and Rebecca. It’s great cross-training.
Monday
- 10 Min Rest Day Meditation – Ross (12/1/22) — Tackling Self-Love
- 20 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Kristin (7/27/23) — Personal Streak
- 15 Min Spinal Mobility – Ross (11/7/23)
I took my rest day rather seriously this morning. I started my day with a rest day meditation in bed and promptly fell asleep again (to Ross’ soothing voice), haha. I was startled awake 20 minutes later and just made it in time for my scheduled yoga class (for which Tanja joined me. Hooray!).
Tuesday
- 30 Min Strength for Runners – Andy (7/29/22) — Road to 26.2/End Zone Energy
- 58 min Easy Run + Strides
- 30 Min Tempo Run – Matt (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 30 Min 80s Pop Run – Matt (9/19/24)
- 10 Min Focus Flow: For Runners – Denis (10/31/23) — Personal Streak
I started my morning with 30 minutes of strength for runners and then headed out for an easy run with some strides. It was a beautiful morning to be outside.
Wednesday
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
- 10 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Becs (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 45 Min interval run
- 45 Min Marathon Race Prep Run – Becs (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 10 Min Focus Flow: Hips – Denis (12/19/23) — Personal Streak/End Zone Energy
Today, I had anaerobic capacity intervals on my training plan. I always start with a bit of trepidation and then end up loving the intervals. Gah. Why am I like that? These speed pushes were so fun. I finished again with one of Denis’ focus flows (I am alternating between the focus flows for runners, or lower body (hips, quads, hamstrings) and they’re such great substitutes for stretches. Highly recommend!
Thursday
- 30 Min Strength for Runners – Rebecca (7/29/22) — Road to 26.2
- 30 Min Groove Ride – Denis (9/3/24)
- 10 Min Focus Flow: Hips – Denis (3/13/22) — Personal Streak/End Zone Energy
I started my morning with Rebecca’s Strength for Runners class. I enjoy these classes. They’re so good and focus on mobility and balance. Sherry joined me and thought it was a really good class, too (even for non-runners!). Then I (virtually) met up with my sister for a Denis Groove ride and I was so happy when Sherry said that she would join for that also! I don’t know if my sister knew what she was in for when she picked the groove ride (it has a lot more “choreography” than other Peloton classes and sometimes it can feel a bit silly) but I think she enjoyed it.
Friday
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
- 45 Min Easy Run
- 30 Min Pop Run – Selena (5/27/22) — Road to 26.2
- 15 Min 90s Run – JJ (7/22/24)
- 30 Min Bootcamp: Upper Body – Tunde (2/16/21) — Blitz & Burn
- 20 Min Keith Urban Ride – Hannah C (9/26/24) — All For One Music Festival
- 5 Min Post-Ride Stretch – Ben (8/11/23)
- 10 Min Savasana – Denis (5/20/22) — Personal Streak
I had a 45-minute easy run on my training plan and then met up with the #BCBabes1 for what is probably going to be #BootcampFriday going forward. Because of all the running, I am not getting much cycling and bootcamping in right now, but I hope to connect with the babes at least on Fridays for the next few weeks! We decided to pedal out on Hannah C’s Keith Urban Ride. It’s Peloton’s 2024 All For One Music Fest September 26 – 30, 2024 and there will be a bunch of new artist rides to choose from.
Saturday
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
- 15-mile run
- 10 Min Long Run Warm Up – Matt (6/5/19) — Road to 26.2
- 90 Min Rock Run – Matt (9/24/24)
- 20 Min 90s Rock Run – Susie (9/9/24)
- 30 Min Rock Run – Camila (9/7/26)
- 10 Min Focus Flow: Quads – Denis (12/13/22) — Personal Streak/End Zone Energy
I am giddy. Another 15-miler done! I felt good on this run. I picked more “rock runs” for this long run. Matt’s recent new drop was good. His coaching is always on point, but the playlist was a little “meh”. Not bad, solid rock songs, but nothing that keeps you pushing forward, if you know what I mean. Susie’s playlists on the other hand never disappoint (me).
Sunday
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/17/24)
- 55 Min Easy Run
- 10 min Long Run Warm Up – Matt (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 45 Min Tempo Run – Becs (6/5/19) — Road to 26.2
- 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Andy (9/4/24)
- 20 Min Restorative Yoga – Kirra (7/23/24)
- 10 Min Witness Meditation – Anna (9/23/21)
It was a beautiful morning for some easy miles (remember, I am using the Peloton Road to 26.2 program classes for “coaching insights”, I am not following the class structure but stick to my own training plan, just in case you were wondering why I chose Becs’ Tempo Run.) Of course, I also joined again for Serenity Sunday in the afternoon.
Current Challenges + Trackers:
I managed to finish three out of four trackers this month. I knew the Bootcamp tracker was a stretch and I am ok with not finishing it. I just included it because I wanted to ensure I fit in a few bootcamps between my run schedule and connect with the BCBabes.
