This week’s stats:
Running: 27.7 mi
Cycling: 26.1 mi
Bootcamp: 30 min
Strength: 100 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 120 min
Warm up/Stretching: 50 min
Meditation: 35 min
I am linking up again for the Weekly Run Down with Kim and Deborah.
This was week 2 of my marathon training and I had a 5K trial run on the schedule to figure out my training paces. Why these test runs are always so stressful and anxiety-inducing is beyond me. I did just fine.
I am feeling a little bit of FOMO as I am shifting to this run-heavy training schedule because I am not doing as many cycling classes. I knew that this needed to happen. I still try to fit in as many other classes for my trackers while not trying to overdo it. Haha.
Monday
- 20 Min Grounded Yoga Flow – Anna (4/14/23) — Personal Streak/Back to Bliss
- 10 Min Core Strength – Ben (1/3/24) — Ab-versity
- 15 Min Relaxing Meditation – Ross (4/28/24)
Monday is my rest day. I am really trying to take it seriously going forward. I kept it low-key with yoga, a tiny bit of core work, and meditation.
Tuesday
- 10 Min Lanebreak 70s Rock Warm Up
- 20 Min 70s Pop Ride – Jenn (8/13/24)
- 45 Min Easy Run
- 10 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 30 Min Tempo Run – Robin (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 5 Min Cool Down Run – Joslyn (6/19/24)
- 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Andy (6/3/24)
- 10 Min Yoga Flow – Kristin (6/25/24) — The Vote Goes To…
- 10 Min Patience Meditation – Kristin (5/30/24) — Back to Bliss
I joined the #BCBabes in the morning for Sherry’s milestone ride and then went for a 45-minute easy run. I am getting used to more running and I am glad that most of these “extra” runs that I am adding to my week are easy runs. Their purpose is to give me “more time on my feet”.
Wednesday
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/4/23) — The Vote Goes To…
- 45 Min with 5K Trial
- 10 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Becs (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 30 Min Marathon Race Prep Run – Becs (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 5 Min Cool Down Run – Joslyn (6/19/24)
- 30 Min Strength for Runners – Andy (7/1/22) — Road to 26.2
- 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Adrian (7/1/24)
- 10 Min Focus Flow: Core – Nico (9/21/23) — Personal Streak/Ab-versity
This morning I tackled the 5K trial run. I won’t lie, I procrastinated (for no good reason) because I had “test anxiety” or whatever you want to call it, but once I was out the door, it was fine. I did a 10-minute warm up and then did the 5K trial at the park. I hadn’t done a timed 5K in a while and was surprised when my Garmin beeped because I had hit a PR. Yes!
Thursday
- 10 Min Focus Flow: Core – Nico (9/21/23) — Ab-versity
- 30 Min Rock Ride – Denis (7/29/23) — The Vote Goes To…
- 30 Min Strength for Runners – Rebecca (7/1/22) — Road to 26.2
- 10 Min Focus Flow: Hips – Denis (5/2/23) — Back to Bliss
Today was cross-training day. Sherry and I repeated Denis’ Rock Ride (that we did for PeloFondo) and voted it “best playlist” for the “The Vote Goes To” tracker. Such a fun ride! I also added on a 30-minute strength class for runners and a yoga flow.
Friday
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/4/23)
- 40 Min Easy Run
- 20 Min 80s Run – Susie (5/6/22) — Road to 26.2
- 20 Min 80s Run – Hannah F (2/14/24)
- 10 Min Core Strength – Callie (1/29/22) — Ab-versity
- 20 Min Full Body Strength – Callie (1/17/23) — 1000th strength class!
- 30 Min Pop Bootcamp – Cody (4/2/21) — ABCs Bootcamp
- 30 Min Slow Flow – Denis (8/16/24)
I started my morning with a 40-minute easy run. You can never go wrong with 80s runs with Susie or Hannah F. Then I joined the Strength Comma Club this morning (1000 classes!) with the #BCBabes and Callie. We added a bootcamp with Cody (always entertaining!) and finished celebrating Lindsay’s 1450th yoga milestone with Denis’ LIVE slow flow. I love his slow flows!
Saturday
- 10 Min Long Run Warm Up – Matt (5/21/19) — Road to 26.2
- 8-mile Long Run
- 30 Min Classic Rock Run – Andy (8/10/24)
- 45 Min Endurance Run – Matt (5/8/24)
- 20 Min 80s Ride – Denis (4/8/24)
- 10 Min Pilates – Anna (11/6/23) — Ab-versity/Personal Streak
Today was also my three-year Peloversary. I got my long run out of the way first, then I celebrated with a Denis 80’s ride. I was going to repeat the first ride on the Peloton (also an 80s ride with Denis) but I think it has been purged from the class collection. I couldn’t find it anymore.
Sunday
- 20 Min Low Impact Ride – Bradley (7/16/24) — The Vote Goes To…
- 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Rebecca (7/4/23)
- 55 min Easy Run
- 45 Min 80s Run – Jon (10/5/23)
- 10 Min Cool Down Run – Jon (2/27/23)
- 5 Min Post-Run Stretch – Jess K (7/15/24)
- 20 Min Restorative Yoga – Chelsea (6/5/24) — Personal Streak/Serenity Sunday
- 10 Min Gratitude Meditation – Chelsea (4/1/24) — Back to Bliss
I met up with Tanja this morning for a low-impact ride that I used as a warm-up before I went for a 55-minute easy run. I purposely tried to keep it easy and slow, but I think my Garmin was acting up a little. It does that sometimes. I don’t believe that during the first 30 minutes of my run, my heartrate was in the 170s and then all of a sudden dropped down to the 130s. In fact, I had been checking my Apple Watch (yes, I was wearing both LOL) to keep an eye on the heartrate and I kept it below 140 bpm. The other stats were comparable to the same run that I did last Sunday.
Does your watch do that sometimes? Is this a sign that I need a new watch sooner or later?
I also joined Serenity Sunday again in the evening for restorative yoga and meditation.
Current Challenges + Trackers:
As mentioned, I’ve been chipping away at these trackers. They’re fun and challenge me to fit in a variety of classes every week. I am not worried if I won’t finish them this month although I’ll try.

August 19, 2024 at 9:38 amHa ha, it’s so funny because if I were in your shoes I’d be so excited about doing more running and less cycling! Well, we all have our things. Glad everything is going well so far, and you’re still managing to fit in a lot of Peloton classes. Happy Peloversary!

August 19, 2024 at 9:42 amNice week of workouts! Looks like the extra running has been a smooth transition so far. I was just noticing (last night), that my runs & walks, while out of town, never synced with Garmin Connect…but they’re showing on the watch itself (???). Weird! I’m trying to figure out why, as well as trying to get their stats to show on the Garmin Connect app.
San
August 23, 2024 at 2:12 pmOh, that’s weird. Don’t they usually all sync when the watch is connected? Have you figured it out?
Jenn
August 19, 2024 at 12:39 pmIf it’s a form of anxiety, I have it. I also have finish line anxiety. Go figure.
Once again it was a nice week of workouts for you. You always stay so consistent with everything.
San
August 23, 2024 at 2:13 pmHaha, yes, finish line anxiety is real, too. Thank you Jenn for stopping by!

August 20, 2024 at 4:50 amEvery single time I had to do those 5K trials or any time trials for the Wilpers program, I had such anxiety! I totally get it-we are both crazy lol. Way to crush it out there

August 23, 2024 at 2:13 pmWHY are we like that? LOL
