Getting the sunshine award from one of my very best friends, who brings sunshine into my life on a regular basis, is pretty much the best compliment one can get. Thanks so much, sweetie! Also having a pretty new blogging friend give the award to me as well, is absolutely mind-blowing. Thanks Carissa!
Now, here are the rules to accepting this sunny award:
* Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them. (Done.)

For years, I could not eat chocolate ice-cream. Horrible, right? I hadn’t had any chocolate ice-cream up until a couple of years ago, because of a somewhat ‘traumatic’ experience that I had when I was about 5 years old.
My family had driven – as every year – to the Italian Alps for our skiing vacation. The last few miles before reaching the mountain village, where we always stayed in a little B&B type of place, is pretty much just windy roads and those I could never handle quite well. Right after we arrived, my Mom treated me and my sister to some ice-cream to reward us for being so patient during the long drive, but feeling a little queasy due to driving the windy roads previously, I threw the chocolate ice-cream right back up… and ever since that day, I’d start feeling sick if someone just mentioned the words chocolate ice-cream.
It’s funny how your brain can establish connections between things that are in fact not connected at all, because I obviously didn’t throw up because of the chocolate ice-cream, but because of my nausea which was due to the windy roads.
Just a little while ago, I started to consider giving chocolate ice-cream another shot. I kept thinking that maybe after all those years I was finally over it and able to enjoy chocolate ice-cream again. Turns out, my body seems to have finally ‘forgotten’ the experience and I am happy to report that, while I’ll still go for vanilla if I have the choice, chocolate ice-cream is actually quite tasty to me again! I can’t believe that I missed out on it for such a long time :)

June 6, 2011 at 9:26 amAww, thank you for the award! :) That’s so interesting how things like that when we’re little can affect us later on. I’m glad you’re now enjoying it! I’m not a huge fan of chocolate ice cream or cake for some reason. I prefer vanilla all the way!
