2: 2026 | Weekly Run Down 43/52 and 44/52 – Knocked out

You’re getting a “two for the price of one” deal today, as I have to catch up on two weeks of workouts. I didn’t get around to post my Weekly Run Down last week. I had had a pretty good week of running (week 12 of my marathon training plan) which ended with a fantastic 18 mile run on Saturday (before last) before everything went downhill. Luckily, I also completed the “Chasing the Crown” Power Zone Challenge with my Streakers team #RoyalStreakers. I amglad it was only 5 weeks because I would have had to drop out for a week 6.

Jon and I decided to get our flu/Covid vaccine in the afternoon (luckily AFTER I had completed my long run) and as I mentioned in a previous post, I was talked into getting up to date with a total of six vaccines that day. I was assured that it was totally fine to get them all at the same time, and I believed them (mainly because I have never had any issues with side effects in the past). Well, the six vaccines – and most likely mostly the Shingles vaccine – knocked me out for three days and I had lingering fatigue and arm pain for three more. Needless to say, my routine was completely thrown off.

Monday

  • 20 Min Evening Yoga Flow – Anna (2/10/23) — The Streak

I took a spontaneous rest day. Yes, those days happen.

Tuesday

  • 10 Min Morning Meditation – Chelsea (10/8/26) — Trick or Treat
  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W12R1 | Hill Interval Run
    • 30 Min HIIT Run – Susie (5/26/26) — PZ Challenge
    • 30 Min Intervals Run – Becs (10/15/26)
    • 20 Min Hills Run – Joslyn (10/19/26)
  • 10 Min Focus Flow: For Hips – Zacharias (10/13/26) — The Streak

I started my morning with #espomama’s Morning Meditation with Chelsea for the Trick or Treat tracker. Then I went over to the gym for an 8-mile Hill Intervals Run on the tread. Getting up was hard, but my run felt surprisingly good and I just love the feeling of accomplishment before I even start my day!

Wednesday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W12R3 | Easy Run
    • 30 Min Endurance Run – Alex K (7/23/25) — Trick or Treat
    • Extra 10: Endurance Run – Andy (10/12/25)
  • 20 Min Lower Body Strength: W2D1 – JJ (12/4/23) — PUTV10
  • 5 Min Full Body Stretch – JJ (9/3/26) — Focus Tracker/No Tricks, All Treats
  • 10 Min Savasana – Denis (5/20/22) — The Streak

I had 4 miles on my training schedule today and got to the gym at 5:30 a.m. It was still pitch-black outside, and I saw lightning in the distance. We’re expecting the first rain this week. I chose a run with Alex K on #boymoml4lifex2’s workout history for the Trick or Treat tracker, and I also had enough time to complete Week 2, Day 1 of the Pump Up the Volume 10 program this morning.

Thursday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W12R2 | Tempo Run
    • 30 Min Progression Run – Becs (3/3/26) — PZ-Challenge
    • 45 Min Tempo Run – Matt (1/24/24) — Trick or Treat
    • 5 Min Cool Down Run – Jon (8/24/26)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Denis (5/20/22) — The Streak

It rained this morning! One more reason to be thankful for the access to a tread! I had a tempo run on my training plan (5 miles @ marathon pace) and while I felt excited about it last night, I did not feel particularly excited about it this morning at 5:30 a.m. But what do they say? Discipline > motivation. I got it done.

I picked a tempo run from my own workout history for the Trick or Treat tracker.

Friday

  • 15 Min Evening Yoga Flow – Chelsea (9/23/24) — The Streak

Saturday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • Team Wilpers Intermediate Marathon Training W11R4 | Long Run
    • 60 Min Endurance Run – Susie (11/8/25) — PZ-Challenge
    • 60 Min Outdoor Run Club – Mariana (3/14/26)
    • 60 Min Country Run – Matt (6/20/24)
  • 10 Min Morning Yoga Flow – Chelsea (8/2/23) — Trick or Treat

We had rain for a couple of days, but today greeted me with sunshine and a comfortable temperature for running! I got my 18-mile long run done outside, and in shorts! :) It was a bit of a gritty run and my Garmin died at mile 15 (because I had forgotten to charge it), but I know that I hit the 18 miles because I had about three more miles left to get home. If you’re a runner, do you know your loops? I have a different route that I run for different distances and it delivers me always right back to my doorstep.

As a stretch alternative, I picked a 10 Min Morning Yoga Flow from #KRene727’s workout list for the Trick or Treat tracker.

Sunday

  • 30 Min Restorative  – Kirra (7/15/22) — The Streak

I was supposed to work out with Tanja this morning, but I had to cancel. I slept terribly (as in, not at all, staring at the clock all night, which is VERY unusual for me) and I was completely wiped out by Sunday morning. I stayed in bed most of the day. I did not expect this response from my body to the vaccines. I rarely ever have any symptoms after vaccinations, but something knocked me out.

This week’s stats:

Running: 38.8 mi
Walking: 8.8 mi
Strength: 20 min
Yoga/Pilates/Barre: 105 min
Warm up/Stretching: 20 min
Meditation: 10 min

Week 44/52

This week did NOT go as planned. I had high hopes of continuing my training plan and running 20 miles on Saturday, but that was not in the cards after the vaccine knock-out. I was still feeling awful on Monday and ended up taking two days off work because I couldn’t function. I didn’t eat for almost 48 hours and slept/dozed for the better part of three days because I felt like absolute garbage.

My Garmin watch picked up on it all. Even though I didn’t leave the bed/couch on Sunday or Monday, you can see that my stress level was high (and my sleep score was in the dumps!)

Monday

  • 10 Min Body Scan Meditation – Aditi (3/29/23) —No Tricks, All Treats
  • 10 Min Savasana – Anna (1/31/24) — The Streak

Tuesday

  • 10 Min Savasana – Kristin (10/26/22) — The Streak
  • 15 Min Sleep Meditation – Aditi (10/18/26) — Trick or Treat

I picked a sleep meditation from Michelle‘s (#mgdoodlestudio) workout history for the Trick or Treat tracker.

Wednesday

  • 10 Min Full Body Stretch – Callie (6/21/26) — Focus Tracker
  • 34 Min Outdoor Walk
  • 20 Min Yin Yoga – Aditi (2/10/26) — The Streak/No Tricks, All Treats

I went back to work today, but kept my workout still light. I did a little stretching in the morning and went for a short walk on my lunch break. I also completed a Yin Yoga Class for the self care tracker.

Thursday

  • 20 Min Full Body Stretch – Allie (8/2/26) — Focus Tracker/No Tricks, All Treats
  • 20 Min 80s Walk – Susie (10/2/26) — Trick or Treat
  • 10 Min Savasana – Ross (6/21/21) — The Streak

I did a nice long full body stretch in the morning and picked Sherry’s ((#the_huntress06) 80’s walk for the Trick or Treat tracker on my lunch break.

Friday

  • 5 Min Ankles & Feet Mobility – Rebecca (11/7/23) — No Tricks, All Treats
  • 10 Min Harry Styles Full Body Stretch – Adrian (10/29/26) — Focus Tracker
  • 10 Min Savasana – Anna (1/31/24) — The Streak

I opted for a some mobility and stretching again in the morning and a savasana class before bed.

Saturday

  • 5 Min Pre-Run Warm Up – Matt (5/14/25)
  • 100 Min Halloween Run
    • 45 Min 90s Run – Susie (10/24/26)
    • 45 Min Halloween Run – Becs (10/26/24)
  • 10 Min Savasana – Anna (1/31/24)

I finally felt good enough today to attempt a run. I didn’t go for the 20 miles that I had originally planned, but got 10 miles in while running up and down our neighborhood streets to look at the Halloween decorations. Can you tell which stretch of my run was heavy on the “stop-and-go photo taking”? :) (Hint: average pace went way down!)

  1. This is so impressive, San – and moreso knowing you were out of commission for three days! How is your arm feeling?

    1. My arm finally was better by Saturday. It had been 6 days!

  2. covid and flu alone knocked me out– six sounds ROUGH.

    1. I never had problems with flu and Covid, but yeah, six was probably too much and people said that the Shingles vaccine is brutal.
