I know some of you think that I have a “strange” choice of pizza toppings – tuna is a topping that I haven’t been able to find at any pizza place in the US, but let me assure you, it’s absolutely normal in Italy and it’s absolutely delicious!!!
I made my own homemade pizza the other week, so that I could finally indulge in my favorite topic.
I bought some ready-to-use whole wheat pizza dough from Trader Joe’s, spread it out and put marinara, mozarella and basil on top.
Then I added my toppings: mushrooms and tuna!
And voilá. Pizza is ready!
It’s delicious! You should definitely give this a try sometime!

July 25, 2011 at 12:21 pmI hate mushrooms and I can’t imagine tuna on a pizza – but I will definitely add basil next time I make one :)

July 25, 2011 at 12:28 pmWell, yeah I know. Some Americans get disgusted by thinking of tuna as a pizza topping. But IT IS REALLY good, and my favorite topping too!(With red onions and lots of garlic)
Go ahead Americans: TRY IT! :)
Your pizza looks very very yummy!

July 26, 2011 at 8:50 amI am not a big fish fan, but I love homemade pizza. My favorite toppings include basil, mozzarella and fresh tomatoes. Throw on some olives and I’m absolutely in heaven!

July 26, 2011 at 9:00 amI love pizza. I am not a big fan of tuna and don’t eat it much but how come it is not known as a pizza topping in the States? That is odd. Your pizza looks really good. Usually when I make my own, I use store-bought pizza dough and just add the toppings I like.

July 26, 2011 at 9:11 amI never would have in a million years thought to add tuna to pizza. I’m not sure how I would feel about it but I’m certainly willing to try!

July 26, 2011 at 9:14 amOoh, this sounds interesting! Homemade pizza is one of my favorite things to make. I recently made a chicken barbecue pizza with carrots, broccoli, onions and cheddar cheese. It turned out great!
Thanks for sharing your creation!
