Time perception
I have talked about this before: time rarely ever feels linear. I am currently in a “time lapse” phase where time just slips through my fingers, and I don’t feel like I have enough hours in the day to do all the things I need or want to do. This is obviously a “me-problem”, and I am sure I am not the only one and you all juggle your own time management issues. I am just feeling this very acutely right now, and let’s just say, it’s not the best premise for NaBloPoMo, haha. (I am posting this at 8 p.m.)
Tired
Do you sleep in on the weekend? Or is your body on the same schedule day to day? I am tired right now (from marathon training, from getting up early, and some personal things we have going on right now) and all I want to do is sleep, but because of my current “time perception”, I don’t find much time to sleep in (yes, I do like to catch up on sleep that way) or nap.
Positively entertained
I am chuckling over the memes about the “blue wave of hot, young men” elected to public office. I mean, if there was one thing we needed more of, it was women, but I am also not opposed to intelligent, decent, good-looking men that are not 70+ years of age, running this country. They understand the issues, they debate intelligently, and they believe women.
I’ve also seen various iterations of “A Jew, a Christian, and a Muslim walk into the Senate“… (haha), and I have not heard that ANY of these men make their religion the central part of their agenda. In fact, Abdul El-Sayed famously said, “I am an American who happens to be Muslim”, not the other way around. They believe in the separation of church and state and freedom of religion, equality, and the Constitution. What a concept!
I need a pep talk
I have a meeting at work next week where I have to stand up for myself, and I am a little bit nervous about it. I mentioned that there was a situation at work where I felt my work and contributions to a project were treated as less important than someone else’s. This situation dates back to as early as the middle of September, and even though I previously tried to resolve it, there wasn’t an opportunity to actually get a meeting on the calendar until now.
I am not sure how to address it because I don’t want to come off as complainy and petty, and common advice is not to go and complain, but to present solutions to avoid situations like this in the future. But to be honest, I really feel like I should tell them how I feel, because this has happened in the past and I deserve to be respected and included in decisions. I could use a little pep talk on how to get through this. I guess I have the whole weekend to come up with a good strategy.
Tea Time
I’ve started drinking tea again in the evenings. That tells you that a) fall is here and b) temperatures have finally dropped enough for me to crave hot tea again. I do love and drink tea year-round, but I definitely go through tea-heavy phases in the cooler months. I love peppermint and black tea (but often drink a decaf version in the evenings), and that reminds me that I also have to get out the rooibos vanilla tea that my sister bought for me back in March when we went to the Dallmeyer House in Munich. Are you a tea drinker? What’s your favorite?
I hope you all have a great weekend ahead!
I am doing NaBloPoMo this month. 30 blog posts in 30 days. Come join me. #nablopomo2026

November 6, 2026 at 11:49 pmHappy weekend. I hope you get to relaxe and recharge a bit.
I am also feeling rather spend and tired lately. Not sure but this year has been trying and tiring.
I am sending positive vibes for your meeting. It is a yucky situation to be in but I think it is also important to set boundaries and stay up for yourself. And especially if it isn’t the first time. Maybe that can be the opening. “I have mentioned this before but it is repeating behavior so I need to address it because it is not ok.”
