30: NaBloPoMo wrap-up – and a little giveaway

I am doing NaBloPoMo this month. 30 blog posts in 30 days. Come join me. #nablopomo2022

Wow. I don’t even know how to wrap up NaBloPoMo this year. This has been the most fun NaBloPoMo in a few years. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for every single one of you that followed my invitation to come along for the NaBloPoMo ride.

You guys are freakin’ rockstars!

Every year, I worry what I will be blogging about for 30 days in a row and then I run out of days before I run out of blog ideas. It’s a nice problem to have and I hope it keeps me into the habit of writing and posting here. Not quite daily though, as you might be relieved to hear. After all, as hard as it can be to post every single day, it might be a bit of a chore to keep up with daily posts from others as well —although I will say that I’ve been so thoroughly impressed this year by your commitment and dedication and I have very much enjoyed reading more from and learning more about all of you, and meeting a few new faces in the process! I hope you felt the same.

Also a big shoutout to everyone who didn’t officially participate in blogging every day but who did an amazing job by supporting all of us daily with your thoughtful comments and encouragement! You’re a big and essential part of our blog community and hopefully you had some fun having your blog reader fill up with extra posts this month! Blogging is not dead!

A little giveaway

As a token of my appreciation for making this year’s NaBloPoMo such a rousing success, I’ll be sending out a little holiday surprise to one of this year’s participants. (Didn’t see that one coming, did you?)

All I’d like to know is, what was your favorite thing about NaBloPoMo this year? And also, will you come back next November? (I’ll use a random number generator to determine the lucky winner from this year’s participants who comment on this blog post by December, 10. Others are welcome to leave comments, too, of course, but I hope you understand that only participants will be included in the drawing. Maybe an incentive to join next year? Although I am not promising any prices for next year quite yet.)

Tomorrow is the first day of the last month of 2022 (WHAT?) and we’re wrapping up yet another year very soon. Thanks for sticking around this month, and as always thanks for reading and commenting.

So long, friends! I don’t expect you to keep blogging daily (ha! I know I won’t!), but I hope you do keep writing and connecting with me here and on your own blogs! We’ve re-built something special here. Don’t be strangers! I hope you’ll all have a lovely holiday season.

Oh, and don’t forget to sign up for my holiday card exchange if you haven’t already!!

30: NaBloPoMo wrap-up – and a little giveaway

  1. My favorite thing about NaBloPoMo was ‘meeting’ your group of people…Having new visitors to my blog really enriched the blogging experience for me, and encouraged me to read more, comment more, and clean up my blog a bit. Nice! Thank you so much for hosting, and I will definitely participate next year. :)

  2. Congratulations, San! And thank you so much for making NaBloPoMo sound so appealing I couldn’t resist joining in. :-) My favorite thing about this month was knowing I would have multiple things to read every day! It was also so fun to “meet” some new bloggers through this project! Thank you so much for hosting and reading and commenting. I had a lot of fun, and it was easier than I thought, and I will definitely consider doing it in future years.

  3. Well done, San! I know you organized this and recruited others to join so kudos to you!

My favorite part was learning new things about everyone! I have met a lot of new bloggers this year that I didn’t know super well but now I do after reading more posts from them during November!

  4. I did it! Somehow it does feel a bit like we all just completed the end of a marathon! We’ve practiced in our own little spaces and then the big day (or month!) came and we all…nailed it.
To you – San – our fearless leader: thanks for hosting, thanks for being such a cheerful voice, and thanks for all the other fun events too! Secret Santa Mug Swap! Holiday cards. You are festive and fun and enthusiastic and I love it.

My favourite thing was probably being wowed – DAILY – by the caliber of writing and the scope of the stories being shared. I laughed. I cried. I felt hungry a lot (American Thanksgiving!). I found some gift ideas for Christmas. I appreciated the vulnerability shown by so many of the bloggers. I felt seen and known and understood. I felt…community <3

  5. I honestly had no idea what I was getting into when I signed up for this – me the total newbie blogger. I enjoyed following along with everyone and the community around it. I found the commenting to be very supportive and that was part of what kept me going in stretches. I felt seen in this vast universe that is the world wide web. It felt a little like making new friends online and I think that was actually my favorite thing. Does that sound weird? I hope not ;)

    1. It doesn’t sound weird at all. And to be honest were would one get to know people now anyways if not online. I believe through blogging it is more that we are a group of people chatting and the you find a few members you connect with a bit more than others.
And i. had no idea you were new to blogging. You seemed like a pro.

  6. Ooh, how exciting- a giveaway! What a fun way to end the month. Let’s see… my favorite thing about NaBloPoMo was the connection with all the other bloggers. It really made me think- would I keep writing if no one were reading? Nope. I love the interaction, answering comments, and reading and commenting on all the other blogs. Once again- thank you San for making it all happen!

  7. Well done on hosting an excellent challenge. It is a great little blogging community. I’ve really enjoyed getting to know you though your blog this month.

  8. Most I love the connecting to like minded people doing NaBloPoMo. It’s lovely to find new blogs to read. Some of last years participants have become favorites to follow and I already have the feeling that two or three blogs I came across this year will definitely be in my permanent blog reading rotation.
Second thing I love about this it makes you think outside the box. So many new life concept, areas or work, daily routines. Just different characters and I get to follow along and get a glimpse into a different life. I believe this makes us more empathetic and open minded.
Oh and one other thing I really enjoyed is that we were also feeling safe enough to open up about our struggles.

Thank you San for being an NaBloPoMo. advocate, getting me. hooked many years ago and now having managed to grow. this community of active bloggers. It really is amazing.
You know I would invite you to a hot chocolate and hive you a hug if beaming was already invented.

  9. San, you do a wonderful job creating community in this space. Thanks for all that you do! Congrats to everyone, you all did a wonderful job.

  10. I really loved NaBloPoMo. It’s such a dark time of year for those of us in the north and it was just such a delight to open my feed reader in the mornings and have such a bounty of posts to read. It really made getting through the dark when I wake up and dark when I’m done with work easier. I also think it’s great that I met so many new bloggers and learned some new things about people, through AMAs (your name is SANDRA) and just the vicissitudes of finding something to write about every day. Thanks for organizing it, San.

  11. Awesome job to all of you! I didn’t participate, but I blog often enough anyway. Probably too often. LOL. It was very fun to see how each blogger approached it, from random topics to NGS’ themed days and more. I did a lot of reading posts on my phone in order to keep up, where I do not usually comment from, so I’d say that was the only challenging part! I do greatly enjoy the commenting back and forth and interactions, but it can be time consuming, too, of course, and I can’t always seem to do it from my laptop. :) (I’m most curious how Elisabeth manages to read so many blogs and comment so frequently on them all! Not joking, every single blog I go to, even ones that are new to me, Elisabeth has usually already commented! And she always responds to every comment on HER blog, too! She’s a total beast!!! Haha!!! SO impressive! I need to know her secrets. lol!) Great job!! It’s been fun. :)

  12. You’re our ring leader!!!! I’m so glad that I moved out of the spectators’ section this year. Put me down as a tentative yes for next year…I mean now that I’ve done it once it’s going to be hard to find excuses though I reserve the right to backtrack if life is too crazy then.

My favorite thing about NaBloPo is having a feed full of blog posts to ready every day! And my next favorite thing is that it’s not over yet. I wasn’t able to keep up with all of the blogs so I’ll catch up on what I missed in December.

I’ll opt out of the giveaway but I wanted to chime in and leave a comment as a fangirl.

  13. I am seriously impressed that you’ve done it and managed to encourage others to do the same! I miss reading active blogs and happy yours is around :)

  14. I’m sorry I missed this event, only discovering you halfway through. I enjoyed following along here and elsewhere. Blogging is fun and this proves it. Happy December!

  15. Thank you so much for organizing this again for us, San! It has truly become one of the highlights of my year and I looked forward to NaBloPoMo 2022 so much this year! And I can’t wait to do it all again in 2023. :)
