1. I’ve sung my praises about the Runtastic Running app before and I have recently started using a ‘sister-app’, which is called Runtastic Results. It’s an app that customizes a strength training plan around your fitness level, which you can then use in conjunction with your running training. So far, I am pretty happy with it.
2. I’ve been drinking (watered down) Powerade before, during, and after my workouts, but have really come to love Nuun hydration tablets. They come in different flavors (which one is your favorite?) and have very little calories. It’s a much better option than Powerade.
3. I scored this The Sak Iris Crossbody Bag at Ross for 50% off the sales price a couple of months ago. I win. You must know, I am not big into handbags (as in, I use them, but I don’t have a wide variety and switch them out all the time), but you can never go wrong with a medium-sized black crossbody bag, am I right?
4. Mascara is one of my very few ‘must-have’ makeup items (what’s yours?), so I am always on the hunt. I saw this one recommended over and over and while I still love the mascara I recommended in one of my previous Favorites posts, I also really loved this one this month, too: the L’Oreal Voluminous Lash Paradise. I snatched it on sale (I usually try to use up makeup before I replace it) and I am pleasantly surprised. I am a fan of the brush, it’s not as finicky as the Covergirl one.
5. I have a slight obsession with coffee mugs and one of my favorites right now is this mug from Rae Dunn Clay, which I currently use for my morning cup-of-joe at the office. Do you have a favorite mug?
6. I’ve mentioned earlier this months that I’ve discovered Farro at Trader Joe’s and that I completely fell in love with its taste and texture and versatility as a substitute for rice or as a whole grain base for bowl dishes. It cooks in 10 minutes and can be prepared in advance (and stored in the fridge).

August 30, 2017 at 7:21 amI bought the same mascara after reading a review of it on Refinery 29. I don’t love it, but it’s pretty good – & I’ve discovered that I like it more if I use it as a base under my Maybelline Colossal Big Shot mascara. Perfect combo!

August 30, 2017 at 7:55 amI will have to check out that mascara as I don’t really have brand that I love. I am using a Maybelline one now and I just don’t love it, mostly because it gets clumpy really easily. Mascara is definitely one of my go to products.
That cross-body bag is cute and is so versatile since it goes with so much. I love cross body bags. I am not a handbag person either. I have a bigger brown over-the-shoulder bag that I use. I like it because it can hold a lot of stuff so is perfect for traveling. I usually use a bag until it’s really worn out and then I replace it. I will use a smaller clutch when we go to a wedding or formal event but that’s the extent of the bag swapping that happens in my world!

Seems like we’re on the same page about handbags. I have a bigger brown over-the-shoulder handbag too that I use sometimes, but if I just have to have a purse for a day out in SF or so (LOL), I love the cross-body bag.

I’m going to look for those tablets next time I’m in the health food store–I remember something very similar when I visited Germany many moons ago. They were dissolvable in water and I believe they had nutritional benefits but I am blanking on everything now. Anyway, the packaging looks similar :)
Also! Love that crossbody! A versatile bag is always great to have — and yay for a good sale!
Going to check out the Farro next time I’m in Trader Joe’s. I’ve seen it, but never tried it before!

August 31, 2017 at 9:46 amYes, we do have these drink-tablets in Germany too… they were very popular for a while (and you can get them as magnesium-tablets, and such!). I love them and they’re low-calorie!

September 2, 2017 at 8:41 pmI’m always on the hunt for a good mascara. I use Roller Lash from Benefit because I got it in an Ipsy bag one month. It’s great because it’s not as thick as others so it goes on really well, but it’s not always as bold as I want. But anything bold I buy ends up looking thick/clumpy.
