So, it’s November and while I know that November always follows October, I feel like we’ve skipped a whole season or something. We went from pretty much summer temperatures to cold + rain in a matter of days and I am not ready for the holidays and for this year to be over.
Honestly, I don’t even know what will be going on this month. I had secretly hoped that I would still semi-spontaneously sign up and run the Rock’n’Roll Half Marathon in Las Vegas on the 13th (and meet up with a few blog friends while I am at it), but this is most definitely not going to happen (for a few reasons) and it makes me sad, but sometimes you have to be an adult and responsible and make hard decisions. Sigh. Also, my running has been rather sporadic in the last few weeks, so I am not really prepared for another half (although I wish I was).
I am looking forward to Thanksgiving weekend, but I wish it was last year when we were hosting my dear childhood friend Silke. Instead it’s probably just going to be us again this year. I don’t mind, I like quiet weekends at home and honestly, I could use the time for some holiday preparations.
And then there is NaBloPoMo. If you don’t know what NaBloPoMo – National Blog Posting Month – is, read about it here.
Ok, truth be told, I am totally unprepared this time. NaBloPoMo totally snuck up on me this year and I am a little overwhelmed at the thought of trying to blog every single day for the whole month after struggling to get back into my normal routine for the last two weeks. But, I haven’t skipped a NaBloPoMo in the past 10 years (WHAT!?) and I sure as hell won’t let it happen this year when it’s my 10th anniversary of blogging my way through November. I won’t promise anything at this point, but I am re-committing to it once again and just try to do the best I can.
November has always been the ‘official’ national blog posting month and there are going to be prompts (I think) and even a badge to display on your blog. I am looking forward to coming up with more frequent posts, maybe even some totally random ones, and as always, I’ll be taking advantage of the opportunity for a little Q & A. If you’re a new reader, hello! This is your chance to say hi and ask me a question! If you have been reading my blog for a while, there might still be something that you never had the chance to ask. So, ask away!
I have a question for you, too.
Are you participating in NaBloPoMo? You know, I’d love to read more from you.

November 1, 2016 at 11:55 amI’ve never heard of NaBloPoMo (but now you’ve inspired me to join in) but I have heard of NaNoWriMo..similar concept but writing a novel instead of blogging. You’re already off to a good start! I can’t believe you’ve been doing it for 10 years. That’s amazing!

November 1, 2016 at 1:10 pmI haven’t ever done nablopomo, but I do post more in November than any other month of the year as I always do my 10 days of Thanksgiving, so for 2 weeks I post every day, which is a lot for me! I love reflecting on all the things in my life that I am grateful for, though!
I can’t believe it’s November either! I’m excited for this month as Thanksgiving is one of my favorite holidays. Although this year I’ll be with Phil’s mom instead of my family which will be different. It will still be a great day, I’ll just miss the GF stuffing my mom makes for me each year (stuffing is my favorite!!!). I’m especially excited for November, though, as my Spain trip is this month. I leave 3 weeks from Friday which seems crazy as I feel like we just booked it! We have all our lodging and flights booked, though, and I know the rest of the planning will come together!
Happy November, friend!

November 1, 2016 at 7:28 pmDuuuuuuude. Ten years! LOVE IT. I don’t think I can commit to an entire month of blogging every single day because I can’t even commit to brushing my teeth every single day. But I’ll read yours!

November 5, 2016 at 12:17 pmI am so at awe that you are in year ten! Wow. I really planned on participating when I read along last year but then I I kinda hit a blogging slump in 2016. I am slowly coming back but I don’t want to force anything.
So I read along and will be inspired.
Happy Saturday
