How very convenient that Valentine’s Day falls on a Thursday this year. It gives me the opportunity to do a “Things I love Thursday” post (which seems appropriate) without going into the whole lovey-dovey Valentine’s Day commercialized affection-showing part of today.
Don’t get me wrong, I am all for letting your significant other (and/or family and friends) know that you love them and care about them, but I’d hope that you do that on (m)any other days of the year as well, not just today. This is why I loved the picture that I chose for this post: do everything that you do, everyday!, with a “heap of love”, because trust me, it will make your life so much better!
This week I’m loving…
… all of you lovely people. Obviously.
… having J back after his (extended) stay in Germany. It’s been kinda weird to be here while he was over there. That was a first! During our LDR, it used to be the other way around.
… “Girls”. I rationally still don’t quite know what to think of this new series, but I irrationally do enjoy the characters and dialogs, so I am going with that right now. Also, I finally have a current TV series that I am actually following on a weekly basis. This hasn’t happened since “The Newsroom” (which is when coming back? Oh yeah, not before June. Bummer!). Are you watching?
… my new necklace. You won’t believe this, but I got it at Claire’s. I KNOW. Don’t you love when cheap jewelry makes one so very happy?! :)
… the four-day-weekend that is ahead of us. Although J and I are not really celebrating V-Day today, I am still hoping we’ll get out and do something fun this weekend. Do you have any plans?
… romantic comedies. I watched like five romcoms last weekend (when I still had the remote control and TV to myself). J refuses (most times) to watch them with me (why that is, I don’t know. Guys, enlighten me!), so I have to indulge when I can.
… sending out mail, just because.
… non-fiction. I’ve been reading some non-fictional, political books lately (currently: Chris Hayes’ “Twilight of the Elites – America after meritocracy“) and I am so fascinated by the subject matter. (Here’s an interesting Rolling Stone article about the book). I highly recommend it. Do you enjoy non-fiction?
… marble cake. I had a craving for something sweet last weekend and my Mom’s marble cake was the perfect answer to my craving.
What are you loving right now?

February 23, 2013 at 3:28 pmI’m a mega fan of cheap jewelry, especially big earrings that I love for a few months and then inevitably loose, but since they were $4 I never mind too much.
