1: It’s NaBloPoMo

It is absolutely mind-boggling to me that it it that time of the year again. November is here and that means it’s time for National BloPosting Month.
Bloggers commit to update their blogs once a day for an entire month.

I’ve participated for the last 6 years, since the whole damn thing was started in 2006 by Eden Kennedy as a goof based on National NovelWriting Month (NaNoWriMo).
A blogging movement was born. You can get all your questions answered here.

The official NaBloPoMo month was November, but the idea has gained such popularity over time that people started doing the blogging challenge every month of the year now. You can basically pick a month that suits you and sign up. I, however, will stick to November. It’s what I am used to and what I am looking forward to all year.

The challenge is now hosted through blogher.com and here is the official blogroll (you have time to sign up until November, 5th – and you can win prizes, too!)

Like every year, I’d like to take the opportunity and let my readers chime in on the content for this month:

  • What would you like to read more about this next month?
  • Anything that you always wanted to ask but never have?
  • Any pictures that you want me to take and post on my blog?
  • Any other ideas, prompts, memes that you’d like to see in a blog post?

Inspire me! Ask away! Now is your chance. This is also the perfect time to de-lurk if you haven’t done so in the past ;)

Are you participating this year?

Let me know, so that I can come check out your posts and so that we can support each other

  1. Yay, I’m excited about this, I love your blog! :) Did you ever do a (photo) tour of your new (ok, not that new anymore ;)) apartment? And I always enjoy pictures from your neighborhood, commute or city because everything in daily life there is so different from here. ALSO I always enjoy your recipes. :) But you always come up with great topics to blog about so I’m sure November will be great! <3

  2. What would you like to read more about this next month?

I’d love to hear more about your childhood in Germany! Your favorite holidays, times spent with your family, etc. What makes those holidays different from the American ones.

  3. I am participating!!! So excited!!!

  4. Happy NaBloPoMo! I’m a third year participant.

  5. I give you credit for committing to this challenge for so many years. I’ve never done it, mostly because I don’t like the idea of being forced to write. Even if I wanted to participate this year, the state of my life (i.e., parenthood) won’t allow for it. But, I look forward to hearing more from you in this space!

  6. I’m going to try it this year! I am with Maribeth, I would love to hear what it was like living in Germany. Maybe some differences in food, culture and holidays? I am always interested in learning new things about different cultures.

  7. I’m not participating this year, but I’m definitely looking forward to the daily posts here! :)

  8. It’s my first time participating thanks to you! I am excited about it! xxx

  9. I think I might join in, too!

  10. I’m participating too! We can do this together!

  11. I am not participating… never have and don’t think that I ever will! But I think it’s awesome that others do, and will definitely be reading along. :)

  12. I’m participating this year! It’s my first time. I’m pretty excited :D

  13. Ooooh, I miss participating in this! It’s a shame with school I’m just so busy, otherwise I’d be right there with you. Have fun for both of us writing every day :)
