Recipe: Low fat, supereasy Turkey Chili

Untitled

You guys, I made a super-tasty, low calorie, quick and easy Turkey Chili last night for dinner and I need to share the recipe with you. It’s going to be a perfect staple meal for my fall meal planning!

Ingredients:

1 1/2 teaspoons olive oil
1 pound ground turkey
1 onion, chopped
2 cups water
1 (28 ounce) can canned crushed tomatoes
1 (16 ounce) can canned kidney beans – drained and rinsed
1 tablespoon garlic, minced
2 tablespoons chili powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1/2 teaspoon ground cayenne pepper
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

Heat the oil in a large pot over medium heat. Place turkey in the pot, break up and cook until evenly browned. Stir in onion and cook until tender.

Pour water into the pot. Mix in tomatoes, kidney beans, and garlic. Season chili powder, paprika, oregano, cayenne pepper, cumin, salt, and pepper.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer 30 minutes.

Top with a dollop of light sour cream and shredded cheddar.

  1. That recipe looks really good. We’ve been buying ground turkey to lessen the amount of ground beef we eat … but, I’m always at a loss for what to make with it (besides turkey burgers). I’m totally going to try this one next week!

  2. This looks delicious! Thank you for posting the recipe!

  3. Yum! I am all about chili! I made a 4 bean vegetarian chili a couple of weeks ago and it was so good. This one looks awesome, too!
