Friday Tidbits

On Wednesday night, our router finally gave out (or so I believe). I had suspected it being on its last leg for a while, after all, the thing is 7 years old already and I am honestly quite impressed with how well it had been working for all this time. After wasting my whole precious Wednesday evening on trying to fix that damn thing, we finally bit the bullet yesterday and invested in a new router. Setting up was easy and we were (wirelessly) online within minutes. In hindsight, maybe I should have done this much sooner and not put up with the router’s moodiness for so long.

I am so excited! Germany is playing Greece in the quarterfinals of the UEFA European Championship today. Germany had a perfect winning streak during the group stage and won all three games. Of course, that’s an extreme confidence boost for the knock out stage. I am really hoping they’ll score a short and sweet victory against the Greeks. Also, I am superhappy yet again for my 4/10-work schedule and the fact that I’ll be able to watch the game later this morning! Weeeee!

I completely slacked off regarding my workouts this week. I can’t really explain what happened, but I just didn’t make the time for it (which sometimes is kind of hard with the long days in the office anyway). I am hoping to get back on track this weekend. Do you ever feel guilty if you don’t stick to your workout plan? I mean, it’s not that I feel guilty per se (because who am I kidding, I don’t really have a workout plan right now other than trying to make it to the gym 3-4x a week) but it’s like my body is subconsciously telling me “why didn’t you do it, you know you feel better when you just do it”.

After a very hot weekend, temperatures are down to the high 70’s, which – for Sacramento in June – is pretty much unheard of. Last night, we had the window open and it was cool and breezy. So nice! I wouldn’t mind at all – in case someone’s listening – if it would stay that way for a little while (forecast is looking good for the coming week!).

Happy Friday!

  1. I can’t even tell you the last time I worked out. I need to so bad. I’m SO excited to hang out with you soon :)

  2. Our router went out a few months ago and I was shocked how easy it was to set up a new one. Have fun on your day off watching soccer today! We went through a hot hot hot streak, but it’s since cooled off and looking to be a really nice weekend. Can’t wait to spend some time outside!

  3. Happy Friday, friend! Enjoy the football match :)

  4. The major heat wave around here is slowly settling too and I’m soooo thankful. I don’t do well in all that humidity! Still hot, but now it’s at least bearable.

I can’t remember how old my rowter is. I feel like it’s getting old too. I didn’t realize they needed to be replaced after a few years! I’ll have to keep that in mind.

Have a great weekend! Good luck to Germany in the Euro Cup :D

  5. i love when it’s just in the 70s, that is the absolute best weather. hope you have a lovely weekend!

  6. I’ve been slacking on my workouts, too. And yes, I feel guilty when I do! My excuse is running a 5K last weekend made my legs super sore, so I’ve needed time to rest. ;)

  7. I’ve been slacking on running – I took one day off about two weeks ago, then one day turned into two and two turned into three and … yeah. I haven’t run since. We’re finally getting a bit of summer weather here – I love the heat, since we usually only get one week of it :)

  8. Go Germany!! :)

I feel very guilty if I don’t follow my workout plan. And mine is pretty specific since I tend to be training for something. It helps to be part of a run club as there is an accountability factor… so I never skip group runs, but there are nights when I skip cross training, etc, and then feel guilty about it!

  9. Well, I wasn’t able to watch the soccer game but I taped it and hubby and I were supposed to watch it later together. Unfortunately our sister in law texted hubby the outcome and one of my coworkers just said “Congratulations on the German’s win” while passing my desk. ;( Booh!
At least the German’s kicked some butts ;)
Workout…..well, let’s say I am going to do some tomorrow (hopefully)!
Hope you and J will have an awesome weekend! Enjoy!

  10. So I can’t believe your router lasted 7 years! We’re on our 3rd in 3 years, I swear. It’s like a new router every year, and those things are all that cheap! :/

  11. Yes, I totally understand the guilt! :) I haven’t been running in way too long.
