Although I said in my previous post that 2011 was not the greatest year for me, I realized that a) I don’t want to go without a little review and b) there still were pretty cool things happening in 2011. So, without further ado, I’ll give you a quick, picture-laden review of my 2011.
I got myself a waffle iron and made these “heart-shaped” waffles after my Mom’s recipe. Delicious!
J and I had tickets to see Jeff Dunham on his tour “Identity Crisis” live again. It was such a blast!
We paid a visit to the Sacramento Zoo and (almost) got to feed the giraffes!
I celebrated my birth and this little guy turned 1 year old! Just wait until I show you pictures from my last visit. He’s grown so much since then! He’s almost 2 years old now!
I shared with you “what I do” for a living.
I baked some “sweet yeast rolls” for Easter…
… and shared my new recipe for a delicious, light and tasty Chicken Salad.
After a while of apartment hunting, we moved into a new, much nicer, quirky home.
I finally got an iPhone!
We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary!
We took a culinary trip to Spain!
I got to see NKOTBSB live! Yeah!
I spent an awesome 4th of July weekend at my friend Susi’s house in the Bay Area.
I picked up my parents at SFO airport for three weeks of awesomeness!
I spent an amazing time with my parents and cousin exploring the National Parks of the Southwestern US and the Northern Californian Coast.
I went to beautiful San Francisco to take care of some visa business.
I confessed my 10-year love affair with California.
I told the story on how I met J ten years ago.
We celebrated J’s birthday.
And went to the pumpkin patch for Halloween.
My blog got a little face-lift.
Traditionally, J and I went to see the annual “Causeway Classic” College Football Game.
We celebrated Thanksgiving and then started the Christmas holiday season with a visit to the Charles Dickens Christmas Fair in San Francisco with friends.
I met with an old friend from College after 6 years.
I enjoyed the pre-Christmas season to the fullest!
And I got to board an airplane to go home to Germany and see my family for Christmas!
And this was 2011. Just wait for the recap of my awesome time in Germany with family and friends and the week of skiing in the Austrian Alps!
Here’s to a wonderful 2012!

Your culinary trip to Spain sounds AMAZING (not to mention delicious, what a great idea) and your apartment looks SUPER cute. All the best for 2012, and I can’t wait to get to know you better through our blogs this year!

January 16, 2012 at 10:33 amI love your recap, because it’s a good reminder that you had a lot of good in your life last year. I’d consider doing one, but I’m pretty sure mine would consist of a lot of “I changed poopie diapers” mixed with a lot of “I haven’t had a full night of sleep in weeks” with a dash of “I love my son, I love my life.” There, I did it. 2011 in review! hahaha.
