I thought it would be fun to share some random food facts (inspired by an earlier post from Katelin last month). Some of these facts may not be news to you, because I have mentioned them some other place before.
1. I LOVE (real!) bread. I would easily skip any hot meal for some fresh bread with butter. Yes, it’s that good. (And you, yeah you , stop nodding, because you don’t know what you’re talking about since you never had any real bread!)
2. I eat butter and sugar on my Pillsbury Crescent roll. Alternatively, I put it between two slices of “German whole grain bread” and add some jam. J calls it my “bread sandwich” :)
3. Oysters and liver make me gag.
4. I love tomatoes. Period.
5. I could eat salad every night of the week. And on the weekends, too.
6. I love me a soft-boiled egg on the weekends. Out of the fridge, 6,5 minutes in boiling water. Divine.
7. I always feel bloated, fat and ugly after I had Fast Food. I guess, that’s a good thing (as in, therefore I don’t have it very often.)
8. I hated Brussel Sprouts as a kid, but now I like them. A lot.
9. I don’t do (most) “light”, “low-fat” or “diet” products. It’s either having the real deal or not having it at all. I don’t like to compromise taste just to be able to have something ” more often “.
10. I am all for green vegetables (spinach, zucchini, green beans, peas, you name it.)
What are some interesting food facts about you?

November 7, 2009 at 6:44 pmI love just about everything, which is why I am a lifetime member at Weight Watchers!
And yes, I do know what you mean about “real” bread! I gained 25 pounds in 6 months in Germany. Fabulous bread and fantastic beer!

November 8, 2009 at 5:46 amDuring my pregnancies (and while breastfeeding) I started drinking (and totally loving) Coke Light Lemon. I know it contains a lot of “fake” sugar and stuff and is not good for you but I still need to drink a big glass at least twice a week. Hubby always needs to bring some when grocery shopping so we never run out. And I still don’t like Brussel Sprouts or Broccoli. As a kid I hated Spinach but now like it and a few years ago I also started liking “Grünkohl und Pinkel” which I found really gross when I was younger.

November 9, 2009 at 8:36 amYour “bread sandwich” made me think of something my sisters and I used to make: bread balls. We’d sprinkle sugar onto a piece of bread, then fold it up and roll it into a sugary, doughy balls. And eat. So weird…

November 9, 2009 at 12:58 pmThe only condiment I use is ketchup, and that is literally only when I have french fries. I can’t stand the smell, look, or taste of mustard. :)

November 10, 2009 at 6:15 amI shred broccoli and carrots and mix it with whipped egg whites and seasoning (+salt) and eat it as a “green pancake”.
I eat so much pumpkin that my palms are orange.
I work out so I can eat peanut butter. Every day. I will never lose those 5lbs as long as there is pb in the house. And chocolate. 2 squares of Lindt Chili chocolate every day.
Never had a “bread sandwich” like yours before. I’d like to invite myself over. ;O)
