7: Blogger meetup

It’s already late on this Saturday evening, and I am pressed to publish a blog post for today, so I am shamelessly using a photo from my blogger meetup with Julie and Meike for today’s post. I had already met both of them on separate occasions, but it was the first time the two of them met in person. Meike participated in NaBloPoMo in the past, so we’ve all known each other through blogging for a while.

I drove out to the Bay Area, and we met at the Rockridge Café in Rockridge. Jon’s Mom used to live in Rockridge when we first met (in the mid-2000s), and we frequented this breakfast place a lot. I had fond memories of it and also took my family there a few times over the years, but unfortunately, the food was overpriced and not as great as I remembered (sorry, ladies!).

The company, however, was excellent and we chatted away for a couple of hours. Then we walked around and perused some of the little shops on College Avenue.

It’s always great to have the opportunity to take these online relationships into the ‘real world,’ and I am so happy we were able to get together today!

I am doing NaBloPoMo this month. 30 blog posts in 30 days. Come join me. #nablopomo2026

  1. Oh how fun you got to meet.
I am envious you got the chance and so happy you did.
Meeting blogfriends feels so natural because we’ve already have such a connection. It always feels like you just fill in some gaps the online persona keeps private and you are uptodate.
And funny thing I share about my blog date with Melissa later today.
