Do you have a bucket list? I don’t, really. I mean, I have never written one out or anything, but randomly, I will pick things and proclaim “this is on my bucket list” or “I crossed this off my bucket list”. Maybe I should take the time and write those things down sometime.
Anyway, today I want to talk about the reverse bucket list: things I never want to do before I die.
The idea came from this blog post over at Cup of Jo and I thought I’d write out my own list. Because it’s fun, right? Because I am sure you can think of a few things that you feel like you don’t have to do in life. I took the liberty to check off a few things on the suggested list, but there are a few other things I really do not need to do before I die.
Here’s my list:
+ Bungee Jumping. I have no desire to jump from any tall buildings, bridges, or construction cranes dangling head-down from an elastic rope, #thankyouverymuch.
+ Give up carbs. Self-explanatory, right?
+ Diving. While I find the oceans and its inhabitants fascinating, I also have major respect for it and there are few things that scare me more than being under water. It’s just not my thing.
+ Try any kind of drug. I have never had the desire to try any mind-altering substances.
+ Ride a motorcycle. I’ve been on the back of a motorcycle before and it’s nothing I need to repeat.
+ Stop sending snail mail. Never.
+ Give up coffee. Just no. I wouldn’t say I need it, but man do I want it.
+ Go on a cruise. I know so many people who love it, but it’s just not my idea of having fun to be stuck on a (huge) boat with a gazillion other people.
What would be on your list of things to never do before you die?

November 9, 2018 at 2:30 pmOh I love this list (might have to steal it). I can definitely second all of them except 3,5 & 8. I am not sure if I wanna do them bit I wouldn’t rule it out as of now.
Happy weekend, Tobia

November 10, 2018 at 10:38 amSteal away! I am always curious to hear what other people deem to be “not worth doing in their lifetime” ;)

November 9, 2018 at 3:24 pmI loved reading your reverse bucket list! So funny; I can’t ever get B to take a cruise with me either for the same reason. But I actually love cruises and think it’s a great way to see a lot of places while only having to pack once! I’m not sure I could ever give up coffee either. Or carbs, for that matter ;) hope you have a great weekend!

November 10, 2018 at 10:39 amI understand that going on a cruise can be convenient in the way that it takes you to many different places, but I just find the idea of being in such small space with so many people unappealing…. but maybe a smaller cruise boat would be a compromise for you and B?

November 9, 2018 at 4:53 pmI’ve got the same things on my list. Minus the cruise because I think I would like to go on a Mediterranean or Scandinavian cruise some day. My parents and sister have been raving about them.

November 10, 2018 at 10:40 amI am sure a smaller cruise boat would be doable, maybe… :)

November 9, 2018 at 11:10 pmIt is fun reading a reverse bucket list! Heights frighten me so bungee jumping and sky diving has always been out haha!
So many people who love going on cruises but the older I get the less I want to go on one! I prefer staying on dry land for a vacation lol.

November 10, 2018 at 10:40 amYeah, I think staying on dry land also has to do with my fear of the open sea!

November 10, 2018 at 5:02 pmI love this idea! I may have to steal it for a future blog post. Oh, cruising. You either love it or hate it. ;) I couldn’t imagine never going on another cruise ever again! It’s my favorite way to travel.

November 10, 2018 at 6:47 pmI like the IDEA of a cruise – all the fun things you can do and see – but the ocean freaks me out ( so no to diving too) and yeah, I’m not sure I’d do well on a giant boat. haha I also will never sky dive. Terrified of heights. HOWEVER, I should say that I want to do indoor sky-diving, but that’s it – no jumping out of a plane.

November 10, 2018 at 10:48 pmI don’t know what would be on my list of things I wouldn’t do! :P It might be easier coming up with everything I WANT to do.
I guess it’d be something like giving up cheese. ;) Can’t do that.

November 11, 2018 at 2:28 pmThis is hilarious! I’m going to write a Reverse Bucket List to share too, and of course link back to you. The #1 thing on my reverse bucket list is Go to Disney World. NO THANK YOU!!!

November 11, 2018 at 10:18 pmThis is funny and clever. I agree with you about not doing scary dangerous things. But… it is possible to do some risky activities in a safe, prudent way. Like riding a motorcycle. I ride almost every day and have been doing it safely for 20 years. I go on long trips and am more cautious on two wheels than on four. I’ve given many people rides who’ve never been on a bike before and they all enjoyed it. I’m sorry you didn’t have a good experience. If I can reach you to move past that, I’d encourage you to try again with someone who will make you feel safe and comfortable.

November 12, 2018 at 8:33 amThis a fun post idea! Several of the items on your list are also on mine – scuba diving, trying drugs, riding a motorcycle and going on a cruise. I could change my mind about the cruise one as I’ve heard Alaskan cruises are great but it’s still not my ideal vacation. I have bungee jumped but that is something I never thought I would do. I did it when we traveled to New Zealand during fall break of my semester in Australia. It was terrifying but also a very cool experience so I am glad I did it but don’t care to do it again!

November 13, 2018 at 9:26 amI LOVE this idea for a post and I’ll have to do my own soon! I’m so with you on bungee jumping or anything involving heights. I’ll pass on all of that thank you!
