STICKING TO | my bi-weekly grocery run schedule, but damn do I wish I could go wander the aisles of Home Goods or Michaels again. Target is my only exception (as I go there for grocery and household items) and it’s as close as I get to just “window shop” the aisles at a store right now.

EATING | peaches. I always forget how good they are when they’re in season.

DRINKING | smoothies. (Or should these count as “eating “?)

WATCHING | the Democratic National Convention and really liked some of the speeches. I know, Biden/Harris might not be your first pick (or even your second), but we need to elect them. Period. (And yes, I’ll also check out the Republican National Convention this week, but just to see what’s going on. I am not sure how long I’ll be able to stomach it. Did you read that a “half Of RNC’s Planned ‘Key Speakers’ Are Trumps“?)

WONDERING | how people have time to keep up with IG posts, stories, AND now reels. Please tell me your secrets. I feel like I am always ‘behind’ (please don’t put any important information in your stories, because I am afraid I’ll miss it. Haha.)

BUYING | another 25 lbs bag of rye flour because the baking shenanigans are continuing.

WORRYING | about the fires in California. I don’t know if you can see it on our backyard table in this first picture, but it was ‘raining’ ash in many parts of (Northern) California last week and the air quality from all the different fires that broke out after all the lightning showers was awful. It seems to get worse every year.

TRYING TO | exercise outside when I can. It’s been a little tough lately and being chained to the house by bad air quality on top of the Corona quarantine feels like a double-whammy.

HOPING | that I can take my bike for another bike ride very soon. I got my tires filled up a couple of weeks ago, but the hot temperatures and recent smoke from the fires have prevented me to take it on a ride again.

ADORING | the beautiful butterflies (and occasional hummingbirds) that I’ve seen around our bougainvillea in the last few weeks.

WEARING | shorts, tank tops, and Birkenstocks – all day, most days. What’s your quarantine uniform?

READING | A long way home by Saroo Brierley.

SENDING | snail mail. I’ve had some odd experiences with the Postal Service again recently, but with everything going around USPS politically, I am still trying to support the Postal Service.  Also, real letters and cards > bills and advertisements.

What’s going on with you currently?

I’m so out of the loop that I don’t even know what IG reels are! Ha! I have tried to be on social media less because even though it’s mostly happy content, there’s enough controversial things discussed that it gives me anxiety. I’m barely on FB for that same reason, too.

The wild fires in CA are so sad. :( I can’t imagine having ash raining down. I hope things get better soon. This year is just really really quite the dumpster fire.

My Covid uniform is maternity leggings and a maternity tank top/sports bra most days, unless I have a zoom call to attend – then I wear 1 of 2 maternity shirts I like. I have more LS maternity shirts I like so once the weather cools, I’ll have more clothing options. Often times, I will just put on a t-shirt for a client call and then change back into my tank top afterwards. The standards are pretty low these days for dress code which is kind of nice.

I’m currently feeling sick of the extreme humidity we’ve had lately. It’s been too hot/humid to go outside in the afternoon lately. And it’s tough to be cooped up indoors with a rambunctious toddler. We try to spend as much time outside in the morning as possible to wear him out which has been a good strategy!

Sorry about the fires and bad air quality! California just keeps getting hit with all sorts of stuff!

I’m always mailing things via the USPS, but especially these days, I’m trying to support them as much as I can.

I haven’t even figured out reels, nor how to access them on IG, lol. I’m barely on IG nowadays as it is – I gave myself a time limit of 30 minutes and I try to adhere to it!

The wildfires in California are so devastating. Another reason to need a Democratic president – we cannot go another four years with an administration that denies climate change is real. I hope things calm down soon and you can be outside again!

Reels has made me spend WAY too much time on Instagram. I’m going to have to go back to setting my app timer to help with my self control.
I love sending and receiving snail mail!! You’re so right, who wants bills or junk mail!?

Instagram has so much going on I don’t get how everyone keeps up with it all either. I like stories but I haven’t even attempted Reels and I haven’t brrn watching them much either. Hope things get better soon in California. So much crazy right now.

I’ve been thinking of you in all these fires in California and hoping you’ve been doing ok! I agree on Instagram Reels – who has time for another aspect of that app? There’s a reason I don’t do Tik Tok!!

My quarantine uniform is the same every day: 3/4-length leggings, a supportive sports bra, & either a workout tank or a T-shirt, depending on the day, & tennis shoes or flip-flops depending on the day. Over & over & over on repeat forevvvvver.

I practically live in my gym clothes.
I shower after my workout and then put on a new set of gym clothes. They’re just so comfy and practical!

Sorry to hear the wildfires are back again and even worse than before. I can believe not being outside in the backyard is frustrating. And yes to snail mail. I have started a bit of a back and forth with an online friend from Prague and its been fun.

So sorry to hear about the wildfires and the poor air quality :(

I didn’t give any airtime to the RNC because I cannot stomach all the lies. I pray that America does the right thing in November.
