Monthly Favorites | July

At the end of each month, I share things that have made me happy, new discoveries, or recommendations that I find worthwhile. Enjoy.

1. As  previously mentioned in another blog post, I recently invested in a pair of Lululemon Speed Up Shorts* (partly paid for by a gift card, mind you) and I  am so, so happy with them. They’re  so light,  moisture-wicking and all-around comfortable.

2. I love a lot of vegetables, but I think if I had to pick one vegetable as my favorite, it  would  be tomatoes. They’re so versatile and so flavorful and  I could just eat them all summer long (and every other season for that matter, but they’re most delicious in the summer).

3. I go through phases with which mug I prefer for my coffee, and right now I am using our giraffe mug (that I originally bought for J at World Market a few years ago, but he doesn’t mind sharing it with me). Might or might not be related to my recent visit with my giraffe friends when I ran by the zoo.

4. It’s summer and it’s hot and it’s time for Outshine Fruit Bars* (Lemon). So refreshing!

5. Have you ever looked for an image online and wished there was no annoying background (like the images I need to put this post together)? Or have you spent oodles of time removing backgrounds from images? Then you should check out* because it’ll make your life a whole lot easier.

6. We bought these String lights* for our backyard. They’re solar-powered and look so pretty and they have really transformed our outdoor space into a space where I want to hang out.

7. I had wanted an armchair for our living room for a long time (because tbh, I slouch when I knit on the couch and it makes my neck hurt). I had been  eyeing the Storsele Rattan Armchair* for a while and when it recently went on sale (are they discontinuing it?),  I had to seize the moment. I love the design, it’s very comfortable (with a cushion of course) and it gets extra points for making me sit up straight.

What was one of your favorite things this month?

* #notanad, This is not a sponsored post. I have not been compensated by the brand or anyone else for linking the websites.

  1. Yes to tomatoes please! The ones we’re growing aren’t ripe quite yet but they are getting close and I cannot wait to make BLT’s with them! One of my favorite summer sandwiches! I’ve had those fruit bars, they are really good!

  2. I’ve been eyeing up those string lights because I want to put them on our patio area. I didn’t buy because we haven’t used our patio at all this year and won’t so I’ll wait until next year. They look like the perfect size/shape!

  4. Those lights are so cool – I love solar lights. I really need to try one of those Outshine bars; they look yummy. Thanks for the link about removing backgrounds in photos – I need to go bookmark that now!

  5. Ooh, thank you for the link! I’ll have to remember that the next time I have an image with an annoying background. I never knew that website existed!

I think my favorite thing was the nightgown I bought! I’m usually a pants + tee girl for pajamas but on a whim, bought a nightgown and it is so much more comfortable and easier to sleep in!

  6. When we were in the US the last weeks we bought the Outshine Raspberry Bars. Loved those, very refreshing and yummy!
Favourite things these last few weeks were going Outlet Shopping, strolling through Target, Grocery Shopping at Publix and in general being back in the US for the first time in 10 years. Damn I miss that! Had all my favourite foods and drinks (e.g. Diet Coke Ginger Lime) and brought home half a suitcase full of food I can’t buy here.

  7. Yes to tomatoes! My cherry tomato plant has started to produce so I’ve been eating lots of fresh tomatoes. They taste completely different from what you can buy in the grocery store. I can’t wait for my big tomatoes to ripen but that probably won’t happen until the 2nd half of August. In general, I’m loving the fresh produce from my garden. We ate lots of lettuce in June/July, I picked an eggplant this week, and we’ve had several green peppers.

  8. Yes to tomatoes! I love how versatile they are and how many dishes and snacks are better with a bit of tomato.
    That giraffe mug is awesome!

  9. I love tomatoes. Unfortunately I think I am developing an allergy. I can not live without tomatoes though.
