On Thursday (10/6), we had some time to kill in the morning and headed to the historic downtown area in Folsom. Can you imagine that I had never been there? It’s such a cute, historic main street though. We walked around a bit and had a drink at a small café.
We got home around 3 p.m. and my Dad and I had to get ready to head to the Bay Area, because I had purchased preseason NBA tickets (Sacramento Kings vs Golden State Warriors) for my Dad. He had been dying to visit here during basketball season and go to a game, and he was finally here to make this happen.
My Dad and I used to occasionally go to German league basketball games back in the day, so that was a bit of a déjà vu for both of us.
Again, Bay Area workweek traffic slowed us down a bit and while we made it to the SAP Center in time for the game, we didn’t have time to grab some dinner beforehand, so we had to rely on the food they offered at the arena. Sausage and fries had to do. We had a really great time though. It was awesome to see the professional players live that you usually just see on TV.
While my Dad and I were at the game, J took my Mom out to dinner at Lucca’s. I am so glad they got to spend some time together.
On Friday (10/7), we took it easy. We had a couple of home appointments scheduled, so we had to hang around the house for most of the day. The most exciting part was the delivery of our new couch! I am so in love with its color and it’s so comfy, too. What do you think?
Stay tuned for more…

November 17, 2016 at 11:22 amLove the new couch! That color is fab. And I am now obsessed with Folsom. How quaint and perfect for an afternoon of wandering! I’ve been to an NBA game before, and it was fun, but ice hockey games are my FAVORITE

2. Once upon a time, I illicitly paddled a canoe up the Sacramento River into Folsom Prison territory….oopsie. (It was mostly an accident. Mostly.)

November 19, 2016 at 9:35 amI have you to thank for introducing me to the Birkenstocks you’re wearing (you wrote about them earlier this spring). I was in DC in the middle of June and after a day of walking, my tendinitis flared up and I was in a lot of pain. We found a shoe/foot store that carried Birkenstocks and that particular style and headed straight there. They got me through the remainder of our two week trip (and all the walking in NYC).
