Juli and Fee, two bloggers from Germany that I read regularly, love photography as much as I do and for 2014 they have started a blog and photography project called “Foto der Woche” (photo of the week). The blog is in German, but photos naturally speak without words.
Every Wednesday, I’ll share my “Glücklichmacher” (= my favorite photo of the week that makes me happy and fills my heart with joy) with you here on my blog.
If you want to join, you just do the same and then link your blog post via comment to the corresponding weekly post on “Foto der Woche“, because clearly, if you’ve been documenting your life through photos via your blog, Instagram or any other social media platforms, you already have all that it takes to participate.
On the first of each month, Juli and Fee will pick one favorite photo of the month which will be featured in a downloadable photo calendar next year. How’s that for some motivation?
And without further ado, here’s my “Glücklichmacher” #1.
Blue skies over Cologne (taken December 30, 2013)
This photo was taken last week on December 30, 2013 in Köln (Cologne), Germany. I was fortunate enough to spend the holidays back home with my family. I grew up in a small town outside of Cologne, but as most of you know, when people ask me where I am from, I proudly tell them that I am from the Rhineland. When I think of home, I think of Köln.
