A sad pumpkin

I have a confession to make. I didn’t carve my pumpkin last weekend. And I don’t think it’s going to happen anymore.
I know, I know, I was so excited about going to the pumpkin farm and picking out a pumpkin and then…. nothing. It didn’t get carved and it didn’t get turned into a jack-o-lantern. How pathetic is that?
Honestly, I blame it on the rain. We were going to take the pumpkin outside for the gutting, but it just simply didn’t stop raining on Saturday last weekend… and there was no way I was going to do it in our small kitchen. It’s always such a mess.

Instead, we enjoyed the “spooky” [= dark and rainy] athmosphere, lit some candles and snuggled up on the couch instead. The pumpkin is a nice fall decoration in the apartment – even though it’s not carved. I guess, our Halloween could have been a little bit more “halloween-y”, but oh well. I definitely enjoyed looking at some of your awesome jack-o-lanterns :)

It’s getting kind of cold over here. I used the heater for the first time this year and I crave tea more often than during the summer. Clear sign that fall has arrived.

  1. couldn’t you say that you actualy bought it for Thanksgiving to make a pie out of it so technically you werent GOING to make it into a Jackolanten anyway??? ofcourse if you said that then you would have to make a pumkin pie which could be alot of work too…. hmmm its such a dilema lol

  2. You could peel it, cook it and make a pie!
