4: A blue tsunami

Wow. I don’t think anybody, not even the most hopeful and optimistic people (I used to be one of them!), could have predicted the outcome of the midterm elections yesterday.

It wasn’t just a cautiously predicted blue wave, but a tsunami. I don’t think tR*mp saw it coming and I hope it swallows him whole.

I feel a tremendous sense of relief today. Not because there isn’t more work to do (there is!) but because I finally have faith that people chose kindness over cruelty, community over divisiveness. We’re sending are a lot of good, decent people to Congress. And we flipped states that people thought were firmly “red” to “blue”.

I guess all the gerrymandering did not work. People showed up to elect women, ethnic diversity, and young blood to Congress. The regime tried to abolish DEI , but you can’t erase diversity and you cannot erase the power of the people when the choose to make their voices heard.

Today is a good day.
