1: NaBloPoMo 2024 – the Cool Bloggers Edition

I am doing NaBloPoMo this month. 30 blog posts in 30 days. Come join me. #nablopomo2024

Hey friends, believe it or not, but it’s time for NaBloPoMo (National Blog Posting Month) again! 30 posts in 30 days. I hope you’re as excited as I am.

This is my 19th year of NaBloPoMo. In 2006, Eden Kennedy first launched the blogging challenge, and even though 2016 was the last year that NaBloPoMo was officially hosted by BlogHer, I’ve still been writing and participating every year in November.

I know that it’s a lot of pressure to blog every day and I wouldn’t want to do this all the time. I don’t think I would have been blogging as long as I have (since 2004), if I put that kind of pressure on me. But I have been blogging pretty regularly all this time – and so do many of you – and I feel like I can challenge myself once a year to put in some extra effort for November to write and comment a little more.

And if you joined because you’ve fallen off the blogging bandwagon, it might just allow you to re-engage in the community and fall in love with blogging again. I hope you don’t feel any anxiety over it because it should be fun – first and foremost. Remember — if you skip a day, no big deal. This challenge is just a fun way to connect and maybe find a new friend in the process!

Since you’re here, I am pretty sure you are one of the people who have not given up on blogging yet. In fact, many of us together have built a pretty incredible community of people who continue to blog simply for the sake of writing (for ourselves) and sharing in hopes of connecting with like-minded people. It’s been such a delight to be part of it.

To keep up with our themed challenges, I am declaring this year’s NaBloPoMo Challenge the “Cool Bloggers Edition” because this community works because of all of you cool bloggers! While I didn’t come up with the label, I took the liberty to create a page for people who are curious what the Cool Bloggers are all about (any extra info/insider knowledge that I missed to convey is much appreciated and I am happy to add to this page).

I also wanted to share again that Engie set up a NaBloPoMo2024 Blog Post Ideas list this year if you need some inspiration. There are plenty of prompts to choose from. You can also add more ideas to the list if you feel inclined.

Also, feel free to use the badge at the top of this post to use in your blog posts or your blog sidebar, so your readers can see that you’re a NaBloPoMo participant. Even better if you could hyperlink it back to the NaBloPoMo page.

Come join us

I hope you’re excited about this month of connecting! Keep spreading the word! If you do decide to join us, please sign up here, so I can add you to the running list of participants on my NaBloPoMo page.

And now, go and check out the list, and make a new friend :)

    1. The Cool Bloggers Writing Frenzy LOL I love it :) (oh, and thanks for mentioning Julie’s Cool Bloggers Autumn Soup challenge… I hadn’t seen it yet because I am behind on blog reading, but I’ll most definitely add it! )

  6. Yay! We have Cool Bloggers participating and lots of Cool Bloggers cheering us on, which is what keeps us going, I think. Excited to be doing it again!

    1. This community is just the bomb! :)

  7. I did NaBloPoMo the very first year I started blogging (2009) – it would feel weird NOT to do it at this point, although I DID used to get really stressed if I couldn’t post for some reason (only ever because I had no connection, so far) and I’m not going to do that this year. I can’t call myself a Cool Blogger with a straight face, but there are few things I CAN say with a straight face these days, so what the hell.

    1. Oh, I remember finding out that you’ve been a long time NaBloPoMoer… and I am so happy you’ll continue the tradition :) you’re definitely a Cool Blogger!

  8. SO glad you’ve kept this alive. I only discovered it earlier this year when I was looking for more blog challenges. I’ve participated in A to Z (April blog every day except Sundays) before. This year I participated in WordPress Bloganuary (in January) and A to Z (in April). A November challenge is the perfect addition.

    1. So happy you found us, Meg!

  9. First time in my life I would be considered cool – and looking forward to it.

    1. You blog, therefore you’re cool! :) So happy you’re back!

  10. Hooray for Cool Bloggers!!! We do have an amazing community, don’t we?

  11. Booyah for Blogging!!! I’m excited to see all of the NaBloPo goodies!!!

    1. You’ll be our biggest cheerleader, Birchie!

  12. I will be following along and commenting as much as I am able! The commenting aspect gets overwhelming so I am reminding myself that no one is grading me for my comments or checking to see if I comment on every post. Ha.

    1. I respect that, Lisa, and nobody expects you to comment on every post! We just love having you as a cheerleader! :)

  13. Yay, I’m excited for the month. 19 years- that is very impressive. Thanks for your BOE- big organizing energy. I wouldn’t be doing it without the push from you!

    1. Yay, glad you’re back, Tierney!

  14. Oh, will you look at all these great people and blogs, I don’t know if I’ll have time enough to write and then, read all these blogs every day! I think I need a clone (or three) to make it through the month intact.

And 19 years doing this? Bravo!

    1. Haha, we definitely all need clones. Don’t sweat it… just read and comment when you can. This should all be fun, not pressure!

  15. I am looking forward to the challenge! Thanks for being such a good host! I will be interested to see what everyone puts out, and to make a few new friends!

    1. I am so excited you’re part of it this year, Kyria!!

  16. Aak! My Feedly is doing that thing where I don’t see anything from you and then I see 1000 posts from you! I hate that. But I’ll be on actual sites this month so I can comment more, so it won’t be too much of a problem. Thanks for hosting this again! It changed my blogging life for the better last year and I’m so thankful I found this community.

  17. I am so sorry I haven’t been able to comment, let alone post. Sigh. You can move me to the “inactive” tab of the Cool Bloggers, IMO. I hope to catch up on at least some NaBloPoMo posts in the next couple of weeks. Yours, as always, will be top of the list. <3 Thank you for being such a light – you always show up, you lead, and you keep your word. Things I aspire to do and be.
