Currently | October

FEELING | a little all over the place lately. Lots going on and I haven’t had proper time (and brain power) to blog much, but I am planning to keep up my annual tradition of blogging my way through November by participating in NaBloPoMo. Do or die, friends. Who’s with me?

WEARING | my fleece jacket more often because it’s been cooling down (appropriately for fall). I would lie if I said I didn’t like it. Give me all the seasons!

EXCITED ABOUT | voting. I hope you are too.

READING | Hillbilly Elegy: A Memoir of a Family and Culture in Crisis by J.D. Vance.

EATING | zucchini-cheddar scones. I bought one from the local Co-op the other week (it’s what happens when you go grocery shopping hungry!) and then decided that I had to bake my own (which I did last weekend). Recipe will be posted soon.

DRINKING | tea.

WATCHING | the World Series! The Red Sox made it to the WS this year and J and I couldn’t be more excited. They’re playing the LA Dodgers and are currently leading the series 2-0.

MAKING | homemade bread!

ENJOYING | visits from our neighborhood cat. It’s so cute because whenever I pull up with the car, he basically sprints from wherever he’s been to our front steps and (loudly) insists on a nice, thorough head scratch. He snuck into the house twice recently and has been taking strolls through every room before turning around and running back outside. Haha.

LOOKING FORWARD TO | Halloween. I hope we get some trick-or-treaters again. J wants to watch the new Halloween movie but I am not sure yet if I can muster up the courage. We’ll see.

LISTENING TO |  the Soundscapes channel.

TRYING | to get back into my gym routine. I realize that sometimes life happens and you have to adjust your schedule for a bit, but man, it’s always so hard to get back into your regular routine.

What’s up with you currently?

  1. Yum! that bread looks good. I’m trying to get back into a blog routine and NaBloPoMo sounds like it could be the blast start I need – but how do you come up with something to write about every day??

  2. Aw, your neighbor cat is so adorable!! Love that they just want some head scratches. Trying to get into a routine again – for anything! – can definitely be tough, so I know what you mean. I missed cardio hip hop last week and I went last night, and omg, even that is something you can feel. LOL I hope you have a great weekend!! Good luck with all of your blogging next month.

  3. The bread looks good! My October has been full of pumpkin patches and family time.

  4. After last years fun I plan on joining NaBloPoMo again. Thanks for getting me hooked. And I am looking forward to the zucchini scone recipe. It looked really yummy.
    Happy weekend, Tobia

  5. I’ve also struggled with blogging much lately! When I get busy I find that I’m just not as creative about coming up with blogging ideas. That homemade bread looks delicious!

  6. I am super excited to vote! Let’s go blue wave!

  7. YOU HAVE BEEN ESPECIALLY BUSY WITH ALL YOUR FIELD WORK FOR WORK! hopefully THINGS SLOW DOWN A BIT. lOTS OF TRAVEL ALWAYS THROWS ME OFF AND IT CAN BE HARD TO GET BACK ON A SCHEDULE! tHAT’S CUTE THAT YOUR NEIGHBOR’S CAT COMES TO VISIT!

I’m CURRENTLY FEELING A LITTLE OVER-TIRED AFTER A REALLY FUN BUT REALLY OVER-PLANNED WEEKEND. luckily NEXT WEEKEND IS PRETTY QUIET!

  8. Ooh, I had to click the link for Hillbilly Elegy to see what you thought, and I’m glad you liked it! That one has such strong dissenters, but I really got a lot out of the book.

I’ve been out of my normal routine for so long and I desperately miss it. You never realize how much you love your normal boring routine until it’s gone for a long time. Hoping to get back to it soon.
